canada is definitely for me

As a Canadian who has traveled to 12/13 provinces/territories (sorry NFLD) and all regions of the mainland USA I have couple comments. First, both Canada and the USA the accents and culture are very different depending on the area (another similarity!). People from Vermont have more in common with people from New Brunswick than they do with their fellow Americans in Texas. People from British Columbia have more in common with people from Washington than they do with Quebeckers. Second, I actually find that Americans are super friendly in some states, more outgoing than Canadians (like say Tennessee). Also, Drew, if you ever want to go to the Far North in Canada it's a whole other world of Inuit people speaking Inuktitut on Baffin Island - for me that area seems like another country!

I have been to Canada The most things that I love there is the hospitality and kindness. But in restaurants are more expensive then in Europe. I don't visit the us

USA and Canada is very different, kind of like how Australia and New Zealand are very different

?? Im from Ontario Canada and have always worked management in retail. I've always taught any employees in any department that if you see anyone lingering for any longer than 5 minutes, black, white, or any race for that matter to ask if they need assistance! Again I don't care the color, race, most people that come into a store have come in and know what they're looking for! When I see a customer looking for longer than 5 mins, it's just common practise to ask if you need help. I'd suggest you's re-think this practise that we all are taught in stores

28.58, unpopular opinion, its called jilbab not hijab and it's not required to be worn. In fact its states you should not wear something which will bring attention to yourself. Thus, when she wears the hijab here it's her fault bc it's not required. As it's not normal and doesn't fit the norms in Canada. However if shes from arab she must bc that's the culture there. I actually think Janelle Monae included those characters to make a point. I don't think it gives them a pass. the lyrics of the song even speak about the issue. This is my perspective as an African American. I appreciate the perspective, but I think a message was actually being sent. The whole bit about the store staff asking you if you needed assistance or hovering around you has happened to me when I was in Saudi Arabia in a store that sells electronic devises and books etc , bear in mind that I am Egyptian and that happens to me in Egypt as well so I don't think of it as race problem more so that some stores are just worried about theift, still that doesn't mean that I don't hate it, it makes you feel pressured to buy something so I thought if I went to Canada and if this happens to me it will be normal, now I don't think so.\nP.s. sorry my grammar and spelling isn't top notch giving that it isn't my native language.

Yes, if you don't believe so. I challenge anyone to make friends an obvious ethic minority and spend 6months with them regularly. It will become obvious.
