I was once escorted back home by a police officer i was warming up my dads cadilac the officer asked for id when i told him i was warming up my dads car because he was sick he told me lets go talk to him when i said i lived in a building were it was mostly jewish people he said yea right theres no spanish people living there when i got to my appointment my mom said whats going on i quickly said he said no spanish people lived here the cop turned brite red and said i just had to make sure he was saying the truth and walked away

It is NOT just race. Depending on the bag or backpack you carry, you get followed, which I hate. And I'm not black. My mother also gets followed everywhere in every Macy's store. It drives me crazy. It's really annoying, because I think it's because my mom has big purses and I usually have my art backpack. \n\nWhen I'm in a different town, I get followed in Walmart all the time. If I forget my shopping bags, I will empty my backpack so I can use that to put all my items in at the end of the purchase.\n\n In Best Buy, I'm lucky to get anyone to help me at all!!! I have to hunt someone down, and most of the time, they don't know anything anyway. Target: I have a hard time finding anyone to help me as well. I haven't really done a social experiment, but sometimes I just have my shopping bags and fill them as I shop and I won't carry a purse.\n\nLocally, I don't get followed because my family and me are known in that town. We know a lot of people and my face is everywhere. I never get followed. But out of town Walmart, I get followed in certain stores. It irritates me immensely, especially since I buy a lot of make up and the make up department is cramped they way they block the end of the aisles. It makes it really hard to turn your cart around when other people are in the same aisle. Then they close the make up aisle even though they have tons of cameras all over!! \n\nOverall, I don't know WHERE these backhanded compliments are coming from. I normally hear stuff about my weight. Once an apartment complex has reached its full capacity the rents go up has to do with timing also if you wait a few months you're going to pay more in a good economy. Some people are confused why a realtor doesn't offer the same house to every customer for the same price. Realtors know everyone doesn't want to live with strangers When shopping for a one-bedroom apartment. I've never lived anywhere where everyone pays the same rent regardless of how many years or days they've been there. It has to do with supply and demand the second guy got a higher price because the demand was up for just a few apartments. If you took the same three guys with a hundred other guys to an apartment complex that was at 50% capacity they would all be quartered the same price most likely. People rent apartments to make a profit. When you fly you'll notice that nobody plays the same price to ride in the same plane at the same time.

It will never be stopped, it can’t be educated away and it can’t be made to go away by immersing people in multiculturalism. Think back to when you were a child even...seeing someone who was handicapped would make you wary of them. Now, when those normal perceptions cause you to treat someone bad or as a lesser person is when it becomes a problem. That CAN be educated away. But to attempt to make people feel bad because of there responses to the faces on the computer is ridiculous. EVERYONE, regardless of race, will have tendencies towards tribalistic thinking.

Subconsciously we stereotype people and that to me is natural based on socialization. However, what you do and how it impacts people in reality makes a difference.
