In 2007, I called a property manager in Vancouver about renting an apartment, she told me that there's no vacancy. I was really interested in living in that area. After a few days, I called this building again. This time a South Asian women replied that they have an apartment available. I rented an apartment in that building. I found out that the building was owned by a South Asian family, but property managers were a Canadian couple. In 2012, I was looking for a rental apartment near Metrotown, Burnaby, BC. All property managers, refused me to rent in their buildings. They said they have no vacancy. I had never experienced such a blatant racism before that day.

In sales, you only charge more when you think you can get it. The unfortunate stereotype most of the time is that black people are poor. The only excuse for charging a black person more than anybody else is racism.

I swear as someone with brown skin, the Best Buy thing happened to me literally every time I have walked into one. And I have been in several best buys in several cities.

Cool video! I'm from the United States, and I've been to Canada back in May 2001. I was 11 at the time, but it was part of a 3-day trip with my elementary school. We were in Toronto. I miss my experience there so much. Although I'm not a fan of cold weather, I would love to be back in Canada because new healthcare here in the U.S is too hard for me to get. I used to feel angry,when ignored by shop assistants,for whitees ,but I studied things closely,and found that whites dress up .....properly most of the time ,when going to these stores,and shabby looking white people dont get treated,better than blacks......so it gets down to the selfish silliness of the employee....as to who will actually buy their wares,and ensure their pay. 8:17 BEST BUY Hello people Just before the COVID 19 pandemic struck our Country, in the United States of America. My son and I were shopping at Best Buy. We had more than five or six different people ask if we needed assistance. My Son would say no thanks, and I would ask each one that did ask if I needed help, to help me. That associate would show me where to look, then try real hard to get away from me. This happened at least five to six times. All six times, I said yes. Finally, they stopped asking me and continued to ask my son. The reason my son would say no thanks is because he was just looking. I, on the other hand, had questions about what I wanted to buy. They did a great job answering all of my questions, however, when it came to buying what I wanted to buy most of all of the associates had either left the area or went home, because I could not find anyone when it came down to purchasing the items I wanted, only to find out what I wanted was made in China, They no longer carry the product, in their stores, or online. However, they still had the items on display; however, you just could not buy them. P.S. We are white.

I work at retail and alarms go off all the time but one thing you should never ever do is grab, discriminate etc. You should ask them to see the receipt, this is to check the staffs error of scanning and sometimes theft. Most of the time its the staffs fault for leaving a tag on!!

I love both countries. I have been living in the states for the last 4 years and been in Canada 3 times . I am from Algeria. I love these two countries and wish all the world become like Canada and the U.S in term of friendship . Open border, no wars, business going so well between those two countries and so on.

TRUE STORY : first time i went to Costco, i was ignored and rude to. Finally, i asked why am i being ignored? He apologized and offer to assist me.
