A society where people are not allowed to carry any tools to defend themselves. The police didnt even get there a day later. what a joke. The police will protect you they say. This lady could have gotten hurt or even killed. Canada is a joke. Asians here in the US are all carrying defensive tools such as pepper spray and firearms. Our right to defend ourselves has not been infringed by a tyrannical government like the one you have in Canada.

The key point is history, not current day racism and it's not bad now like it is today.

Someone who lives and studied the Canadian history in school, I can say that there is racism in Canada, but not as worst as USA is we are to compare, but that doesn’t mean Canada is innocent either. It has its fair share of racism in from the history until the present days. The government does make it seem they are washing their hands of their history and directing the attention to the USA than admitting they too have this problem. Just not obvious and worst.

I feel being prejudiced in subtle ways every day when i was new to this country. Now with me settled here for some time, i feel less, but police especially the white police has always made me feel they are judging me based on my race, gender. They lie a lot, They should be defunded!

And we took her for breakfast the other day at a Cracker Barrel restaurant and she never had a biscuit before. As a fellow black man I think we've all had to deal with the you fit the description story. As a teen I almost missed my school bus one day and less than 300 ft. from my house a female white cop stops me with the you fit story. I think what saved me was the fact I had my backpack on.

Racism is more in the open now, I am a senior and really do not know what words they use to discriminate these days, however my husband and I were walking in Walmart one day, then in between the aisles a disabled youth was walking with his mother and was coming towards us, then he said look, look a cockroach and pointed at us. My husband looked at me and I looked at him, no one else around,we realized he was calling us cockroach, needless to say, we thought hmmm, that person could hardly walk and he is calling us cockroach. We walked out of the store totally shocked. I was later told young people are getting their info from the dark web. We called it ignorance and left it that.

That's Ridiculous to keep talking about these topics all the time. Same ppl bring racism up every day categorizing individuals by their skin color, instead of not even thinking about it.. I guess racism is not going to disappear.. because it's been there.. since always.. some individuals give more mind to it than others.. some others, pretend.. and others just live with it

the irony is there is less racism (overt anyway) amongst upper class whites, lower class whites displaying racism is hilarious because their poor. I'd rather be rich and black than poor and white ANY day.

In 2007, I called a property manager in Vancouver about renting an apartment, she told me that there's no vacancy. I was really interested in living in that area. After a few days, I called this building again. This time a South Asian women replied that they have an apartment available. I rented an apartment in that building. I found out that the building was owned by a South Asian family, but property managers were a Canadian couple. In 2012, I was looking for a rental apartment near Metrotown, Burnaby, BC. All property managers, refused me to rent in their buildings. They said they have no vacancy. I had never experienced such a blatant racism before that day.

I had an issue in a Calgary Shoppers but I'm not one to stay quiet. I tweeted head office and they called me the next day. I don't know if they changed policies but I haven't been followed since and I go into Shoppers across the country. Then again, I am rarely in Regina and avoid it like the plague.

When I walk out of a store, I always make sure I'm the only 1 passing through the detection zone. If I and anybody else pass thru at the same time, I get stopped, and delayed for 30 min to an hour while the person gets to go on about their day. Downside to being a native person in everyday Canada.

Ive actually living in America applied for a job in Cooperate American. I applied with real name education and work history. I was VERY qualified if not Overqualified...i applied using a different variation of my name amd using my mothers maiden name, and got the job after interviewing with a different supervisor. Once i showed my ID for tax papers etc. I was called into the office on my orientation day amd was told that i wasnt hired using my real name and could not continue employment. Well i wasnt silent. I sued and received a settlement. Racism is everywhere even in a name

I am from the US and am ashamed at my country’s racism. My family has always taught me as a very very young child that my country was new and made up of people of every country...a melting pot. As my parents taught me I also taught my daughter. It wasn’t until she reached high school that racism was really addressed at my home. In her sophomore year she came home extremely distressed over a discussion at her lunch table. Mind you she had been with the same group of girls since kindergarten. The subject came up about a new girl in school, from another country... Africa. She was so distressed about the conversation before the end of day she spoke to a teacher about it...her math and track coach. I was incredibly proud of her! To this day I can’t thank my parents enough for instilling in me what I needed to live free. To this day my daughter 17 years later has the pleasure of that young girl from Africa as a part of her extended family. We know what we are taught and ignorance has no place in or society today. I also grew up in Chester, PA where Dr Martin Luther King Went to school or a time, my parents were so proud of that.

I was arrested with my then partner, because we matched the description of Native Americans in a brown pickup truck, yes I still to this day have “armed robbery” charges on my record 34 years later. Just last year my granddaughter and I were in Target, when I noticed a guy following us around, I asked ‘ “why are you following us around” no answer, but filled us until we were done shopping and left the store, he followed us right out the front door!

Yet across the years I have listened to Black and Chinese people express opinions which, coming from a white person, would have meant a day in court charged with the willful promotion of hatred.\n\nFurthermore, the young woman who has difficulty with people asking where she is from might want to consider the possibility that the other party is genuinely interested in learning more about her as a person. I am a white British-Canadian and am not in the least little bit offended when people ask me about my origins.\n\nIndeed, listening to immigrants and new Canadians share their life experiences and outlooks on things has gone a long way in shaping my own opinions as to how Canada can be a better country than it is now.\n\nCase in point; I have heard immigrants and new Canadians from nations as diverse as Jamaica, Trinidad, Nigeria, Ukraine, and the Philippines compare childrens' education in Canada with children's education in their countries of origin. Cool video! I'm from the United States, and I've been to Canada back in May 2001. I was 11 at the time, but it was part of a 3-day trip with my elementary school. We were in Toronto. I miss my experience there so much. Although I'm not a fan of cold weather, I would love to be back in Canada because new healthcare here in the U.S is too hard for me to get. I typed this comment on May 31st 2020 when at the time violence and riots are occurring in the United States cause of police brutality......again! + COVID-19's still a major issue.

I'm Australian.Back in 1989 Almost died in that dessert outside Agadez.Extremely dehydrated and stuck in a horrendous sandstorm.\nMy death was so close I saw the white light\nAfter being looked after by a French doctor for 2 days I was then trucked to a hospital in Arlit. During that journey it was 51 degrees celsius.\nI was wrapped in blankets and had buckets of water poured over me to refrigerate me.I spent two weeks in that hospital recovering and then I was medically air evacuated to Niamey ->Algiers->Paris.\nWouldn't wish it upon anyone to make that trek.

I live in Victoria, and take this. I worked in a place, where the manager was from Asia, and she treated me like hell forcing me to move to another department, claiming she doesn't need an assistant. NEXT day she hired an Asian girl. She obviously needs an assistant, but because she wanted an Asian with her, she did that. And now you go to that department and you find all employees are from her country. Talk about racism, it's everywhere. And yes when an Asian or a black treat others in a wrong way, it's still called racism. People only shout racism when it comes from the White while we do see racism from others, but we don't hear anyone condemning it

So... I have two daughters that were in the same high school in a town called Port McNeil. One, older and european descended and the younger, indigenous. My older daughter would frequent the local grocery store for her lunch regularly. When her younger sister began attending the same high school, she decided to join here sister at that store for lunch. Understand that my older euro daughter had been doing this every other day for the last year without incident or being approached once. The day she showed up with her sister, they were accosted by a woman who’d been “stocking the shelves” in every isle they entered and told, “you have to leave, I have better things to do than follow you around for an hour!”\nMy indigenous wife wanted to prove to me just how prevalent this was by asking me to stand an isle away from her in walmart in a near by city and sure enough, there was a person arranging the shelves a few meters away from her. This happened over and over. Shopping while indigenous is a thing.

Something tells me that in case they keep giving birth to 6 children each one day they will be telling us ISLAM OR DEATH

I can't imagine how these women manage to live in black tent whole day
