They need these 'poor people' to bring in significant monies to buy over priced houses and cars and keep the economy going. If the premise that country of 38 milion people does not have enough people was true, countries like Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Singapore, Oman, Kuwait all with less than 10 milion people some less than 5 should have been basket cases. But comparing those countries and Canada when it comes to standard of living the latter looks like basket case. Terribly functioning health care, high unemployment, people living on the streets and now shortages of certain food items in stores. Not to mention the housing market where it is impossible for working people to buy a place because it was left to the speculators from abroad. To make it clear, I am not against immigration, but sanity has to return in place of ideological madness and vote buying.

The government does everything to discourage Canadians to have children, but plans to increase immigration. 500,000 a year? This is social engineering and importing potential voters. Plain and simple. Many countries have much lower education standards, and they just can't come here and work in the same field as back home. We can't lower our standards. By the way – so much talk about colonialism. And how can we call the immigration practice that snatches the educated while they are needed in their own countries? And where they will be housed? Half mil people every single year? Now to rent an apartment borders with a miracle. So, Trudeau want as to live on the street because he will have to house newcomers. What a scam. And what about schools and daycares? It is sick and I am totally fed up.

I just hope you guys are way more diverse in what 500,000 you choose. We need way more cultures other than one specific one that keeps buying up all the property in B.C.- Our country needs far more diversity. I'd love to see more Mexicans. They're super friendly and hard workers, or so I've experienced here in the Okanagan. There isn't enough of them. Give them a better life here.

The problem is apparently the lack of people in Canada having kids. Some are trying, but unable (infertile for whatever reason), while others don't want children for various reasons, including the cost to raise them. So the government is resorting to ever increasing numbers of immigration to supply the economy with workers. This has been going on for quite a long time, though the numbers have increased dramatically in recent years. I wonder if the government has statistics on the success rate of those they bring into the country? And others have posted here the question of being able to deliver the services all these new comers will need. It's a valid concern.

What jobs is this guy talking about? Do a job search. There is no manufacturing in Canada. If any are kept in North America will go to Mexico. White people blame China where people are willing to work hard for less and no union formation or complaints. He does not mention the fees visa students pay which is 5 times Canadian Students pay at university or college is used to offset Canadian students so they pay low tuition fees. Knowing the real reason Canada needs visa and immigrants and how much money it generates just by the application fee, immigrants and visa students don't owe Canada nothing and other countries should adopt the same strategy to attract immigrants. Unfortunately the majority of Canadians are English, Scottish, and Irish which are racist blaming Canada's economic and job problems on immigrants. The majority think they are entitled and ignorant and arrogant. That's why they are called mange cake and Malakas and other names by immigrant groups. That is why you have China towns, Greek towns, Italian, Portuguese, INDIA , Jewish and other ethnic towns and ethnic communities don't visit small white towns or move to other provinces. Canada clean up your problem.

Why cant we meet our Paris Agreement numbers?? Because our government is bringing in more immigrants that need housing (cutting down trees), that need to get to places that cars need to be used to get to, that need to build new sewage treatment plants, that breathe in more air.\nYes! With more people coming into the country, our greenhouse gas emissions go up, so what does this government do?? Increase the carbon tax thats supposed to be used to fight climate change. The amount of immigrants I've met/interacted with(grew up in TO) that don't trust the system, cops or gov cause they never trusted them in their previous country is saddening. I lived in Canada, I found a different passion...so left. I own properties both places! Not everyone will be successful in business! One of the wealthiest countries in the world, I spent 14 hours in Emergency not having treatment for my wife. yet it's the within top 5 wealthy country's in the world! \nA little bit of advice if you want to enter into a business proforma showcasing! \nBring up Excel spreadsheets to make further economy tax brackets, earnings etc. I guess you are pretty young!\n I am old, so I have more experience!\n You don't make business profits in a day or months. It takes years to build a business to become successful anywhere you find yourself!\nWhen your house or property value is half a million euros! \nGDP growth range in Canada from 2017 to 2020 was from 3%, 2.78%, 1.88%, -5.2% now in 2021 growth range was positive to 4.6%. \nIf you want to set up a business you look at these growth factors!\nYou will not make billions nor break even..\nYou need a one off experimental breakthrough and many more ideas with fantastic concepts!\nGood luck ?

People in countries like India, Bangladesh, Pakistan etc should make their own countries livable by removing corruption and controlling population.India desperately needs One Child Policy.

I would like to thank CBC Fifth Estate for their initiative to uncover the trauma these students go through. This is only one cornerstone of the story. Fifth Estate need to dig deeper and come up with part 2 to look in to our Federal Government policy regarding issuing Student Visa from India. Why these so called for profit colleges / agencies only targeting students from India and not from any other countries ? The Student VISA process is different for students from other countries. It’s our government who is exploiting these students and playing with their hopes and dreams.

If you are coming to a western country, nursing is your easiest ticket. That's probably the cheapest and easiest path to PR in most western countries especially in US. You only need 2 year Associate degree. Many community colleges give your local tuition rates if tuition is paid by a local resident.

Africa has everything, more natural resources, more water, more land, more man power yet from last 70 years they haven't moved an inch despite all these decades of billions of aid, donation etc while nuclear bombed out smashed japan has moved on by leaps and bounds...africans need to look at themselves and try to develop their own countries. Most of these problems are not just Canadian problems but are immigrant problems and some are just developed nations problems , most people will face them in every country they go to!! The uk, us, Australia mention others are all expensive with just a 0.4 difference! Getting a Canadian passport and moving to another country which is not your native country will solve nothing and it’s not easy to move to a new country unless you have someone to sponsor you!! A Canadian passport will not allow you to work in the US or UK you will need sponsorship for a visa _ all it offers is a free visit visa for about 6 months I guess but not allowed to work! Work visas are complicated and depend more on skills than passport you hold! As a US citizen I can’t work in Canada visa free I can only visit_ the same with Canadians coming to the US or the UK ! \nFor the weather I feel you! We’re lucky In the US cos every type of weather you want you can get it without sacrificing living in a big city But other problems are quite similar everywhere! You have to walk around them and create ways to enjoy the beauty your country has to offer! Running away from from a country your a citizen of cos of loneliness or boredom is not a solution especially when you moving to a country your not even a resident of! Cos establishing residence is never easy unless you have a community there already! Otherwise it will be worse than where your running from!

I was born and raised in Canada. My family immigrated in the 70s. Growing up I was proud to be Canadian but after living in other parts of the world I can tell you, Canada isn't it! \n\nFirstly our Prime Minister is a puppet he works for the Commonwealth and whatever they say goes, they profit off all of your hard work. \nThey keep you sick so you rely on the health care system. Medicate you instead of solving the problem. Doctors are exhausted, rude and over worked, emergency rooms are a disaster and if you book an appointment to see your doctor...be sure you're waiting at least a week. If you go to a walk in clinic you risk getting a doctor that seems like they paid for a fake degree.\n\nYou know when you go to a mall in one town and then hear about a mall in another town that has really cool different things??? Ya, not here! Everything is monopolized! Same stores everywhere you go. there's a mall in Toronto called Vaughn Mills mall, when I was in Calgary they have an exact replica just a different name. Small businesses are hard to keep because everything is so expensive. There needs to be more indoor things for people to do in the winter. \n\nWhoever said Canadians are polite, has never been to Alberta!!!! Check out the UK, over a million people not being able to afford heat last winter. Electricity is going to rise now in October then again in January. It is a second rent we will be paying, no joke!!! Health System is a disaster here. Our NHS is not getting the support they need to be good. Food prices is sky rocketing we see food banks coming up all over the place with long queues. I hear from others in other countries, that are going through the same thing. I don't think you are alone. The entire world is going through something right now and the people are sadly suffering in silence. It is a sad situation and very difficult. I don't think it's a Canada situation only.

I’m moving out few years agoes out of Canada and so happy indeed living in ?? so much freedom depending wich states you want to live freedom on money , health benefit , outdoors indoors activities etc…Canada it’s an empty country, empty land too cold and depress living and please check the population of Canada only worth one states (Texas)USA population. That would be a sad place to live, because there will come a time when you get older you need something paid for because you can't work sun up to sun down, if most of your money is going to taxes it is hard to get ahead one would have to take some money and pay for land outside of the country to have a place to go one day in order to live, but I thought that place was a part of England rule, maybe that is why taxes are so high.

I do think change can be a very good thing. But people need to realize that there’s a different set of problems in each country. It’s all about the pros and cons that you’re willing to deal with. What is the lesser evil to you? Otherwise, no country is really a perfect match for your beliefs and values about how you should be treated. I personally would rather live in Jamaica, but even Jamaica doesn’t have everything in it that I would like. But I need to deal with that and settle. I live in Canada right now. Most Canadians of European heritage understand that those of African or Caribbean heritage will almost never actually like the cold of a Canadian winter. But we sure do, we love snowmobiling, ice hockey, ice fishing, skiing and snowboarding and all things winter. As for the long lines in an emergency department, That's called triage, and it's the same in every developed nation, granted it's a headache and discouraging, but it's the price you pay for free healthcare. I had a kidney stone flare up a few years ago and a friend that was with me drove me to the hospital, I had a morphine shot within 5 minutes of entering and left within an hour, It all depends on how big your boo-boo is that dictates your wait time. Jobs? Yes we have different standards than other country's and need to ensure the applicant is up to Canadian standards, and the last I checked our unemployment rate was around 3.7 %. Unfortunately, Canada has dropped from 9th spot in the world's happiest countries down to 14th, but still way ahead of the US. Oh, and Canadians almost never immigrate to the US, we head there sometimes for a vacation to Florida, but most of us when we have worked a lifetime and are retiring either stay somewhere here or head to Belize or Costa Rica Or portugal where housing and food is much more affordable. So in ending and a small counter to your video title. Reasons to stay in Canada are Freedom, free healthcare, social safety net, tons of winter activities, large job market for motivated individuals, Fair elections where you can vote out a party that you don't like, The peace of mind that you can walk down the street without worrying that you will be shot, robbed, mugged or molested. That's my Canada and I love it.

wow you 2 ungrateful are complaining about 30 to 40% taxes, well why do you think third world countries are at at point they are? people are poor because they lack economic opportunities, good schools, teachers, new way of teaching the kids that they haven't even heard in the countries you were born in, the overall lack of corruption, when anytime you have to deal with any kind of public official for any kind of permit that might need, well build infrastructures, good public Universities, and a decent healthcare system, an independent well functioning judiciary system that is far less corrupted than the countries you were born at............ You 2 are delusional, in the south of USA they don't tax that much, you should see how the Blacks are treated, 2 months that the city of Jackson in Mississippi has no running water, I recommend you 2 to move there, and enjoy the low taxes.... BY the way look as well at the mortality rates for all the Child births in the south, and life expectancy rates.... And trust me I am an immigrant myself, so I know that people are not working as much as here in North America, but or you inherited your house from a family member or you are living in their homes, in that case yes you can sit and do nothing, and if you find a job you will get paid a few hundred dollars per month........ Try to put food on the table with that salary, even in lower cost countries... trust me they struggle 3 times as I do here in North America...
