Surprising as an American, Canada has the same problems we do. I thought they were better.

I’ve always wanted to move to Canada and my sister is already living there but the weather is what’s keeping me from doing so. I live in the Middle East so we have the opposite problem, we can’t really go outside at 1 PM because it’s boiling hot and we only have two seasons. I visited few countries in Europe and fell in love with it, my goal now is to move there!

In India there have been many cases where a sikh man involved in a normal argument had pulled out his so called religious symbol (knife) and fatally injured the other person, so much for a religious symbol. The problem with sikh man carrying a knife in the name of religion is same as an american carrying a gun in the name of constitutional right. Canada has beautiful nature so if you are travelling it must have. Politically. It’s a fuckin shithole where drug addicts wackos have more rights than you hard working guy paying taxes. You might have an impression that police patrol is on every corner but at the same time 11pm in East Village (Calgary) girl who is working at the pizza place has to locked a door because homeless zombies on drugs are causing problems. I have friends who are Sikhs, no one shows up wearing that. It is a threat coz he is showing it to the public . He shouldn’t be arrested but asked to not come to campus with such stuff. He has a mental problem. Why would he do that , he did it purposely to get attention lol

The problem is that often times due to religious practices, a lot of people from minority communities are targeted and have to undergo a lot of scruitiny. Sikhs are amongst the most kind and generous people in the world, apart from being brave, sure this world makes a joke out of them but it is important for people to understand that our religion is important to us, we do follow the rules and regulations laid down by the country but others too have to respect who we are and where we come from, it might seem odd to carry around a kirpan but then again that is no reason to violate someone like this, or their religion's sancitity.

Never left Africa,I am Ugandan, people think it's bad in Africa but I don't think so,I don't have problems,I have friends at university,life is good,plus we have great weather and climate. True, lived there for 4 years. Canada is a well made lie to make someone else rich. I even met a rich immigrant who basically became rich because I'm sure he was doing money laundry. Also, Canadian politeness is a fake way to uncover how they actually don't care about another person; they are not nice people . Being there also made me think about this whole immigration system, it felt like a neo-slave trade, because immigration is such a gray area, and we basically have no rights to anything whatsoever, being open to be easily exploited. Not to mention psychological problems, like the Ulyssses Syndrome, that nobody talks about.

I do think change can be a very good thing. But people need to realize that there’s a different set of problems in each country. It’s all about the pros and cons that you’re willing to deal with. What is the lesser evil to you? Otherwise, no country is really a perfect match for your beliefs and values about how you should be treated. I personally would rather live in Jamaica, but even Jamaica doesn’t have everything in it that I would like. But I need to deal with that and settle. I live in Canada right now. Other than that, I could live in Canada the rest of my life, as long as I get out of Quebec.

Coming from the UK, I am emphatic to the issues of high cost of living, the struggle to build wealth and overwhelming healthcare system but paying tax for essential services is not the problem, you should be paying into the system to help those that struggle to support themselves due to low wages and you also can benefit from these services. Nigerians can sometimes come with the same mentalities of classism and not wanting to pay into system even when they can afford it and still be very comfortable. If the economic system at the very least supported all Nigerians kids going to school and if this was supported by tax, Nigeria would be in a better place too

I agree with Alberta and Quebec being at the top. Atlantic Canada is underrated. I live in BC it's definitely not 4th, yes beautiful geographically, but everything man-made not so much. Tons of homeless, poverty, segregation and the locals (esp. Vancouverites) are actually quite snobby and unfriendly. Even small cities here face problems with homeless and drug addicts.

The rental housing market in Montreal is so so expensive and horrible,any places renting now for under $1250 .00 have to many problems,from bad noise levels to smokers and pot next door,cockroachs,mold,landlords all charging high prices for dirty apartments,in the last 3 years had to move 3 times do to these problems,just horrible high rents in Montreal,so hard to find a good place to live in Montreal anymore.

I'm fine with high taxes as long as I can have a second residence in Canada. There's a lot of crime within the USA, and Canada is a safe haven depending on the type of crime we're talking about. I'm sure you understand what i'm saying. I'm not entering the Country to work there. I'd bring my businesses there, and help the economy as a permanent resident, and citizen of USA. My only problem is that i don't know how to become a permanent resident as an entrepreneur.

You need taxes for your hospitals, rads, defence etc. The health care problem is not unoque to Canada. We also have it in the UK. The healthcare system is much much better than in the USA and better than in West Africa. Cost of living is high everywhere. You don't look homeless. Try living in the USA. Go back to college and get a better qualification and earn more. In the USA you are more likely to be shot than in Canada. Go back to University and get a good degree or try Nigeria or Ghana. We only have one life to live. And I have to admit to you all, we are in this world but we are not of this world according to the Holy Bible. We can't fix all the problems the World has and/or satisfy others. We all know that. It is your (one's) Life. It is best to make the best of it, as long as it is for a good cause. This is where we as humans should and always ask God the Almighty (including Jesus Christ our Saviour) for continous Wisdom in our prayers for continous guidance and protection to live a Life that is either a good or great happy healthy rewarding peaceful blessful lengthy life. Nigeria! My country! It's the best place to be in the whole world. The only problem we have is bad leadership. Give us good leaders and see. Good weather, good culture with moral values, good food, good people and bad government.

When I tell Africans not to go to Canada they never listen. Canada is a really cool country. There's no doubt about that but in winter the weather gets really cold, dull, grey and depressing. Instead of moving always to The UK, US or Canada, why not try the Caribbean and some central American countries. These countries are very colorful, lively and bright with climate similar to ours. There are lots of folks over there that look like us as well except that you may have to learn a little Spanish which shouldn't be a problem at all. \nI'm a Nigerian too.\nI also dreamt of moving to Canada 15 years ago. I was so crazy in love with the country at first but because I was aware of how depressing winters can be I had to switch my dream destination to the Caribbean. I choose Panama because of the large Afro Panamanian community over there. Secondly because Panama looks like a more developed version of My country, Nigeria with beautiful beaches and a nice tropical weather. It's one of those few Caribbean nations with a free world class universal healthcare system like most countries in Europe.

The biggest problem in Canada is and that people don't realize it's not a Democratic Society it is socialist so therefore you are basically working for the government

You mention that you cannot be a millionaire or a billionaire. \n\nI really think that is the problem with our generation, excessive greed, everyone wants to be a millionaire/billionaire, but the reality is most of people in this world will only live an average middle class life or below, that has been the case throughout history in every country on earth. \n\nInstead of wanting to be a millionaire you should strive follow your passion and to master your craft, and if and when you do so, the end result maybe you achieving millionaire billionaire status \n\nThis how most rich people got their wealth, they worked at their craft and had passion and eventually they got the wealth that came along with it \n\nI agree with Canada's progressive tax system, the only problems we have run into since 2010 is that the government has been misallocating taxes collected and giving co-operate tax breaks. All the problems explained are true but they are here for a reason. It can sound cruel to make a doctor take an extra 4 years of school but you have to understand that the diploma they got in their home country is not equivelent to the quality of a canadian one. Hell, in Cambodia, you can pay 100 000K and you are a certified doctor, that can't fly in Canada.

I'm Canadian and I love both Canada and the US. However, I don't think I would live permanently in the US because I think life is better in Canada overall. We have free healthcare, so no medical bills and no health insurance to deal with. Only a bigger tax bill that doesn't change according to your health situation. We have much less crime, especially gun related crime. We have less poverty and a much better social safety net. It horrifies me how many Americans are homeless even if they previously had a good job, but they had to stop working because of a health condition. We have less political extremism and polarization. Extremist Christians have no control over our politics, so LGBTQ+ rights and women's rights are much safer here than in the US. We don't have cities being burnt down by antifa on one side, and elections and social peace being jeopardized by MAGA extremists on the other. On a more positive note, I love the weather of the US, their fast food joints, their local food, the landscapes, the cheaper gas and all the attractions. I really wish the US could solve all its problems and become a better country. Maybe one day, we could end up similar and open our borders like Europeans do with the Schengen Accord.
