Hello, I studied in Europe and grow up in Canada. Born abroad.\n\n1) First, Vancouver is not Canada. Life in Eastern Canada (Quebec and Ontario) is way better. \n\n2) Weather : rain during winter is really a BC thing, the rest of the country : is SNOW and cold for 4-5 months\n\n3) Again, the cost of living is super expensive in Vancouver and Toronto. Here, in Montréal, it’s affordable.\n\n4) The more taxes you pay means you are making good money. 50% of taxes is \n\n5) Canada is beautiful, but if you don’t like our country, why did you came here in the first place ? \n\n6) Covid : Mmm it was maybe extreme, but Canada is one of the country that manages the best the pandemic in the world \n\n7) Rules ? Try coming to South America where I was born. There’s a lot more rules there and good luck for your safety \n\n8) Politic ! We are actually one of the most democratic country in the world. People fighting about politics? Ahahah I grow up here and never saw this ever and I saw the 1995 referendum.\n\n9) Status chasing is a really Vancouver thing, probably Toronto too, but the country is huge.\n\n10) Isolated place, mmm again Vancouver is not Canada. Most of the Canadian population live in East Canada where the majors cities (Toronto, Montréal, Ottawa, Québec) are. It’s true a lot of places are isolated, but it’s a choice living in those areas.

one of the most common hidden reasons that not many people talk about and its more related about mens immigrants leaving Canada despite being finiancially very good is DATING! as much as canada has paradise dating scene for wowmens (would say extremly spoiled) its extremly bad for mens, therefore mens are unhappy and decide to leave, this is true in most western rich countries but some western countries are worse than others ( lets say in my experience France and Canada been the worse for mens and paradise for womens) this is due to many factors but the main one is the feminisme culture, womens becoming more and more masucline.

Being someone that has travelled the world there is no country better then another but.... The cost of living and stuff in Canada yes it's high but we are in a recession ? the housing market has changed jn the past 10 years... It's hard for anyone not just immigrants.. The thing about having experience in a country and not being able to transfer it, there's a reason for that there are plenty of country's that have alot. I understand ur point, but as someone in an Arabic country, i could even say Canada is the big RED dream, so many opportunities are there! , and I totatly respeqt your reasons . but I think as someone like you who lived there years and years , you have normalized so many things in Canada and those things are a dream for others. \nI don't know your dreams or anything about you . but ask your self why there are so many immigrant people in Canada. and then you will know why Canada is great for others . \noverall canada is a good place for ppl in their 20's or 30's, otherwise you should think more about staying or moving to canada . \ngood luck.

The one thing that stops Canada being a great country is the French langauge. I have been to Vancouver many times since 1990 and the real second language of Canada is Manderin Chinese. It is only federal staff in BC who have a smattering of French.

I left Canada for Southeast Asia in 2019, and I'm not going back. The career opportunities and savings are much greater in other countries. My phone bill, internet bill, healthcare, etc. is much better in Asia. Plus I don't need a car here. The savings on that alone are nuts.

Every country is land of opportunity. Canada and Mexico are labor based countries. Both countries are working for American citizens and dependent on USA economics. USA is a true country of opportunity and flexibility. Canada needs to learn from USA and how to become rich by correcting its failing system, not by taxing ridiculously on every fronts.

Actually that true .I’m citizen of British Columbia. I try to sponsor 2018 sponsors my sister an she’s husband. But according to canada immigration rule can’t sponsor my sibling.however that immigration is not satisfied. It processing is according government prime minister. Have a Nasty immigration system. Not freedom family member. But im find other countries as a USA, Australia , new zeland economic growth than canada. It can sponsor sibling. Canada's immigration system is a very restrictive, self-serving program that only cares about the government.

I kinda have to agree on that living in Toronto isnt really ALL that either.. it's just sooo mundane.. Garbage money laundry country, I didn't pick Canada never knew it existed, my parents choice it for me , cold 11 months of the year depressing country I was investment Banker HSBC and standard Chartered Bank now im driving trucks on minimum wage , I always wanted to move to TX CA AZ good life easy money sunshine states but college was expensive 90$ grand a year , im paying 900 for a room in mississauga now

Canada has no culture of its own. People from all around the world gathered here to escape wars, political issues, or for economic reasons from their home country. When honeymoon period is over (around 5 years) they start realizing that leaving behind their own people, culture, festivals, food, etc was not a good idea. Life in Canada (maybe in United States too) is very monotonous and robotic. Years and years go by\nand people are doing same thing over and over. Weather is very unpredictable to plan out anything in advanced. Due to bad weather entire country is designed to be indoors. People leave their wooden houses in cars to work in buildings with no open windows. Unless you leave in core downtown you won't see people on road as everybody is either in their vehicles, in their house, or slaving away at work. To all people who are looking to relocate to Canada: If you are doing well in your home country then do not leave. Life in western countries look good from far but when you live here it's different. Loneliness and depression will be your biggest enemy. Stay in your home country around your own culture and people.

#1 reason I would leave and I’m a Canadian is Trudeau. He’s a jerk. Canada was so much better without this asshole. I live in Toronto. Lucky enough to buy a house downtown in 1995 and we have good jobs. So $ isn’t a factor like for other people. But the liberals are ruining this beautiful country.

In the US thousands of people go bankrupt each year due to medical bills. I don't think that this happens in Canada. I lived in 4 EU and 2Asian countries and I found that medical services are affordable and quite good compared to the US. Is Portugal really better than the US and Canada?

Let's not forget the fact that houses are made with cardboard. I came from a 3rd world country and never had this issue surprisingly. But unless you have a detached house, you can hear everything your neighbors say and do - there's zero privacy. I'm surprised this is even legal honestly. This might be what I dislike most about Canada. I'm paying almost $2000 per month and still have to listen to neighbors get intimate, argue, play music and everything else. Houses are built very cheaply here.

I'm Canadian and I love both Canada and the US. However, I don't think I would live permanently in the US because I think life is better in Canada overall. We have free healthcare, so no medical bills and no health insurance to deal with. Only a bigger tax bill that doesn't change according to your health situation. We have much less crime, especially gun related crime. We have less poverty and a much better social safety net. It horrifies me how many Americans are homeless even if they previously had a good job, but they had to stop working because of a health condition. We have less political extremism and polarization. Extremist Christians have no control over our politics, so LGBTQ+ rights and women's rights are much safer here than in the US. We don't have cities being burnt down by antifa on one side, and elections and social peace being jeopardized by MAGA extremists on the other. On a more positive note, I love the weather of the US, their fast food joints, their local food, the landscapes, the cheaper gas and all the attractions. I really wish the US could solve all its problems and become a better country. Maybe one day, we could end up similar and open our borders like Europeans do with the Schengen Accord.

Honestly, I don’t know how to describe and definite my experience. I came to Canada for my university education by the end of 2013 after I finished my high school in my hometown. That was my first time to go abroad, and living in a totally strange country all alone. New surroundings. New friends. New culture. English speaking. Everything is new for me, and I cannot figure out how I feel at that time, because it’s so complex. Both excited and afraid. In the next few years, I traveled among several different cities. Winnipeg. Vancouver. Toronto. I met many people and experienced lots of things. Some were good and warm, and some were not, and the worst thing was I found I cannot get used to my life in Canada. I don’t mean bad, but I still feel I’m an outsider. I cannot get in. Neither my life nor my schoolwork. So much loneliness. I left Canada and go back to my hometown by the August of 2017. There was nothing strange for me at first 2 years. Everything looks normal, but by the flying of time, I found myself cannot stop missing the old days and experience in Canada. Even the worst part looks so beautiful. I have no idea how could that happened.

Quebec, Nova Scotia and NFLD are tied for history. I suggest visits to Fortress Louisbourg & The Citadel in Halifax and yes Montreal & Quebec City are historic and lovely. Sri lankan here, totally agree about Canada. You dont see anybody outside. You only see you neighbors once a week when they put out their garbage or shovel the snow for 9 months. Only 3 months in the summer you see few people here and there. Its very depressing, stressful, and anxious. I've been here for 30yrs and still can't get used to it. I travel.alot and many tropical places are very poor but they're happy enjoying and lively. If my country is not committing genocide and corruption, my country sri lanka is beautiful. I was hoping the country will get better, its been 30yrs and its at the worst situation presently.

The problem is that North America is cold. Unless you live in Southern California or Florida you’re pretty much screwed. I live in Canada and from mid-October to about the end of March you’re pretty much indoors all the time. It’s too cold to go out. In some countries like India it’s too hot to go out. Los Angeles has a nice comfortable climate.

To make a story short, there is nothing special in Western countries. The quality of life in Canada has changed for the worst. The country claims Canada needs more immigrants but all the companies have been working on implementing new technologies to replace workers or transfer jobs to cheaper markets. Exception IT jobs.. Some companies suggest we should prepare ourselves to share our job with another worker, this would mean less working days and less pay..

Tell me one thing , if you dont get the quality of life in your country and you slog your ass the whole day every day all year round and you don't get back in return anything then whats the point ?? Any place in Canada would be preferable to the US. It is not my first choice. Just so I get out of US. There is NOTHING good about the US. I hate this country passionately.
