As an American, it pains me to see Canada show such poise and leadership. We're wasting our lives and future hoping that our government will save us, yet it digs us deeper into ignorance and suffering.

The difference between the reality show Putin clown and Trudeau is so stark. I'm not sure how to handle four years of this.

I'm a Canadian, we have a massive piece of land and small population.\nWe should be friends with everyone. Never pick sides.\nTo look into history, U.S never be friends with anyone. They are only friends with money!\nI don't go against the Americans, but we also have to take care of our own economy.\n\nTrump just find an excuse to blame Canada so he can tariff the Canadian. We never do things to harm our neighbours. \nI spent thousands of dollars every year in Vegas and have multiple times shares there, but they chose to put a rope on us!\n\nI don't go against Russia and China either because we all have one common goal, that is a better life for all and there's nothing wrong with it!\n\nDon't worry too much about Trump, he is old and likes to show the world that he is powerful before he is gone! \nCanadian will ride through good and bad times. We all have to work together because we are hard working Canadians!

I am not Trudeau's biggest fan by any way, shape, or form...\n\nBut he nailed it here. As a Canadian - Trumps 'brilliance' has done one thing for sure, it's aligned all of the provinces against our neighbor and former ally the United States. It's done something we ourselves have had difficulty with - gaining support from Quebec. The overwhelming vast majority of Canadians don't trust the US anymore, as the legal justification for the tariffs is absolute bull, and is a pretext for Trumps actions. My family has cancelled all US travel, in my case 2 trips this year worth 15K to the US. I will miss Vegas for my 60th. We used to shop in WA State weekly; last year I spent 11K in WA State, and routinely took in shows in Seattle. No more. \n\nCan anyone please explain why Trump is screwing over Americans? Seriously.

They should have already been doing their job at that border. Trump had to threaten them in order for them to use drones, etc. at the border. They should have been doing that. I'm European, but I lived in Canada for a couple of months and actually got to see Trudeau speak live in Parliament. He gave a very different speech that day - a eulogy. I did not think then I would ever hear this man this very obviously pissed off. He's like one of those teachers that don't need to shout to show their students they are in big trouble. I don't know if I would vote for him if I was Canadian, but I would certainly be proud of him right now.
