You get the government you deserve. I blame the American voters that put this lunatic in power, and his supplicant MAGA GOP. Hurting our best and biggest allies, and realigning with an evil dictator, Putin is the recipe for disaster for America. Russia is not the world power it once was, but that is the aim of Putin to revive the old Soviet Union. The EU will stand up for Ukraine, with the rest of the world. Then, the U.S. will be left with broken alliances, and only the axis of evil as friends.

As an American, I'm disgusted with the American government. Trump is not a president he is a wannabe dictator who needs to be removed immediately.

It's clear the only leverage Canada has is to try and turn the American people against it's own government. Americans need to realize this instead of being used as pawns for other countries' governments.

As an American, it pains me to see Canada show such poise and leadership. We're wasting our lives and future hoping that our government will save us, yet it digs us deeper into ignorance and suffering.

Donald Trump knows that his trade war with Canada, Mexico and China will damage America’s economy. That is why he is doing it. He is purposely hurting the American economy in order to help Putin. How is that every American can’t see that Trump is a Russian asset? He is doing everything that he can to unstable the American government. The writing is on the wall America. Wake up!

He is wise to separate the American people and the American government.

An American patriot here I support whatever our allies have to do!! Trump and his administration do not represent all of Americans!! Do not trust him, he never faces any consequences legal or otherwise! Our allies stand up to him and so must American patriots. If nobody tried to put up roadblocks he would become an authoritarian dictator like Putin only dumber!! His cannot happen his threat of World War III to Zelenskyy would be in part because of the US government! The American government is a hostile government at this time!!

The American government are weak ass politicians with no backbone too scared to stand up to Trump and fight for their constituents. Trudeau is clip farming and playing heartstrings. The Canadian government profits from a reciprocal tariff deal.\n\nAmerica is trying to balance the budget, which is what Americans voted for.

This is exactly what Trump wants to destroy America!!!! to bring on techtocracy or maybe just to make his allies in Russia happy.. I've never understood why anybody thought that he gave a damn about anybody but himself or was capable of doing anything that would benefit the American people. But here we are.. there was voter suppression at the very least. It's hard to know what to believe about all that. But I do know many people regardless voted for him. 30% did not vote. Which I do understand. As there is a genocide happening.. but at this point, I have to believe that even amongst the majority of his supporters he is not supported by the majority, major majority of the United States. The republican Congress has shown their true colors of being anti-constitutional . But they are redeemable. Do the right thing if you are in government if you have any power at all, stand up. And for the rest of us, Americans including the ones that voted for Trump let your voices be heard. Before we become something similar to Russia. And I go to prison for this comment.

Like the vast majority of Americans, may you know that my husband and I feel the same way as you, Prime Minister Trudeau! We are appalled and disgusted with the catastrophic damage that our government is causing to our dear allies, and it grieves us deeply that Putin is being treated with respect while we are literally stabbing our loyal, long-standing allies in the back. I have no words to convey our absolute horror in the face of such disrespectful, disgusting, and dangerous behavior! This’ll adversely affect the world, and will do nothing to reduce the nearly $2 trillion deficit. tRump’s tax cuts for the wealthy, and fElon Musk’s austerity measures will, and already are raising unemployment, and will further increase the divide between the wealthiest and most marginalized among us.\nThe U.S. siding with Russia, the two countries having the biggest nuclear stockpiles, is a threat to the world.\nIf WW3 starts, it won’t be because Zelenskyy won’t act to end a war in which his country was unnecessarily invaded, it’ll be because of Russia’s invasion of it, and the U.S. turning its back on its now former allies.\nThose of us in the states who oppose tRump and his alliance with Putin need to continue to stand up, speak out, and perhaps even do more. We’ve never seen anything like this before. Hate to say it, but this could very well be the beginning of the end of what was once a great nation. I called the Canadian embassy in Washington DC this morning. I told them as an American citizen. It saddens me and breaks my heart that we are treating our allies with such disrespect. I do not stand with the United States government and their treatment of our allies. I also called the Mexican embassy and told them the same thing. I didn’t announce Trump in his cabinet and what they’re doing to our economy that we have worked so hard to resurrect again after he was president last time. I, urge every person who does not agree with what is going on to call the Canadian and the Mexican embassies and just let them know that we stand in solidarity with them and against our government here!

The rational American people are with you. The people who understand how real government works. Not made up lies that get repeated over and over again in hopes that people will fall for it. Hard to believe that half the American people actually fell for the scam that has befallen America. Pray for us.

Everyone thinks that this is Canada standing up, but what this means is that the Canadians with our economy that is 1/10 that of the US will be taxed at 25% on our imports, this is going to hurt canadians way more than the retaliatory terrifs will hurt the americans. This may also lead to an escalated response from the US exacerbating the effect. Trudeau and others can't seem to grasp that there may be a long term strategy from Trump and this is playing into it. \n\nThe truth of all of it is that Trump does not like Justin Trudeau or the Liberal government.

Listening to Trudeau I am truly saddened that again USA has somehow elected a man who has systematically dismantling all of American's governments that oversee consumer rights and regulations while simultaneously fiscally attacking our neighbors, closest allies on all of our borders, meanwhile speaking publicly about a globally known dictator whose personal beliefs against democracy in his own country as well as the rest of the free world. I believe that a majority of Americans like myself are left shocked after this election and do not stand behind any of these unorganized, erratic government actions as we're looking at as a whole seem to be purposely creating a atmosphere of chaos and instability seemingly without responsibility there seems to be none in charge.
