Canada is a failed country. They do not have their own military. No policy of their own. It will be 51st US state soon.

Those tariffs against Canada, Mexico along with the rest of the world has all the hallmarks on what Trump really wants to happen in his project 2025 game plan. Im Canadian....not that I agree with the tariffs, but this POS Trudeau has shut down government the last 2 months. Nothing is getting done. He has time to fly to Ukraine but no time to sit down and hammer out a deal with the USA. He has caused all the issues Trump has complained about. He has destroyed our country from within. He is the worst neighbor a country can ask for. Weak leadership. Porous unsecure border. Weakest military of any first world nation. And a disciple of China. He is ALL OUR ENEMY!

There are a few thousand american military bases around the world. Once you end alliances, they are gone. USAs is gonna have a bad time deploying their troops anywhere outside florida. You better get a military Canada

Canadian here- I hate Trudeau just as much as most Canadians, and as it seems most Republican Americans do as well. But I fully stand behind him at this hour. He might have shit the bed for most Canadians during his time as PM, but when it mattered he has stood up for Canada. Review the facts and educate yourself on the current situation between CAN and the US. I will be the first to admit, Canada has not done enough in terms of its own security and military, but these failures should not be the decay in our friendship as nations. The US DOES NOT subsidize Canada, it DOES NOT give money to Canada. In simple terms- the larger country, with the largest economy in the world (USA) buys more from its Northern brother, which produces vast amounts of natural resources which the larger southern country requires. As for the booing seen at most recent sports events in Canada, that is directed at the President, not the average American. I myself would never boo a national anthem, an anthem that millions have sacrificed to protect and defend. But I understand the pain and anger that is coming from my country. We have always been allies, friends, and to most even family. I do hope that in the future our relationship can heal and move forward but the current actions being taken by the American admistration are horrendus and upsetting to most of the world outside of the US. I wish us all the best in the future, be nice to one another, and always remember that the US and Canada have fought, spilled blood, and died alongside one another in the fight for democracy and freedom around the world.

Terrible how our Country America treating Canada and Mexico always been there from disasters to military in past wars. Stand up everyone there no winners! Cost of living, loss jobs and small businesses gone. But the rich will be fine but we are the ones that suffer. So messed up.

There are Canadian's who are angry, afraid, and totally confused by this action. I have friends who are even concerned that Trump could use military force, and the Putin stuff has just enhanced those feelings.

As a Canadian who has lived my whole life here, in my opinion there were two major factors that need to be highlighted that started this mess: fiscal policy and focus on fringe politics. First, Canada came out of the 2008 meltdown relatively unscathed due to following a markedly different strategic path than other major countries, namely tight banking regulations as well as 15 years of paying down the national debt. However, several years after 2008, sentiment shifted to adopting the same MMT-led fiscal policies as other nations: lower interest rates and deficit spending. Secondly, at least 10 years ago, there was a major political shift to start emphasizing fringe social issues (climate, race-based, gender, etc.) instead of standard issues such as the economy or military to name two, and it was strongly evident in academia and in the media. The result was little governmental, public or media attention being paid to core economic concerns such as the massive growing government and consumer debt levels, highly inflationary housing market, or decreasing productivity. When COVID hit, the government further doubled the existing federal debt and when they found that unsustainable, opened the doors to massive immigration levels to bring the Debt-per-Capita ratio down which while helping in that one metric, has further inflated the housing market all while forcing wages down. We now have unsustainable public debt levels, unaffordable housing, decreasing wages, decreasing productivity, and a troubling reactionary political swing towards extremist right-wing ideologies. Top that off with the US administration seeing Canada is on an economic precipice and threatening to take the country over, there couldn't be a more perfect storm.

The American position as Myanmar in the past and the International Court of Justice's ruling supporting the genocide of the then Prime Minister of Myanmar and the plan to form a country alongside a military base are no longer there. So what you need to do now is to inform the world of your multilateral development economic structure through the BRICS alliance.

Recent military retiree here. I've had to endure quite some time of my military service walking on eggshells because one of these snowflakes might get offended. I'm here to say sorry, but I need Soldiers focused on engaging and destroying the enemy. Not worried about using correct pronouns. Trans has no place in the military. Live however you want in your own home. Stop trying to make everyone around you engage in your fantasy. Catering to Service Members with a known mental illness does not increase our lethality as a fighting force. It is directly detrimental to that.

transgender's in the military runs the risk of distraction. people are going to whisper, people are going to laugh. If you're a guy and look at a women, but later find out that women's really a man, that can be traumatizing.

The full force of the military should be on the border

Honestly, the Arabs don't care about the Palestinians. They care more about making trade and oil deals, investments, technology, tourism and military protection from the US and EU. When my father escaped his country in the 1950's he had to go into the US army for 4 years to get his citizenship...makes me sick how entitled these immigrants are how many of them would come here if they had to do what my father had to do??? You know how to solve this issue? If they cant wait to go through the process of being legal to cross the border and live in the united states. Allow illegals to join the military. They can earn their rights and get all the paper work taken cared of by their service to this country. If he or she can go through training, serve in the military. Than they should earn the right for himself or herself and even their family rights to live in this country legal.

I've seen a program to get citizenship. Join the US military. What too good for it? You get free housing and food. They all look like military age males. Don't worry they take females as well.
