Moving to Canada seems like a fantastic idea but it’s a trap. Immigrants are enticed into the county with all of these promises of free healthcare, freedom and entrepreneurship. It’s all a lie. high taxes to pay for “free”poor healthcare not to mention the governmental overreach and political corruption. You become enslaved. I grew up there and I never want to go back. I miss the mountains and my family… that’s it.

I am sorry but I completely disagree. There is a difference between a surgery being delayed and rescheduled verses not being able to get the surgery at all because you do not have any healthcare. Even with employment many people cannot afford their employer sponsored healthcare because the premium is too high. All of the things you mentioned might be better addressed outside of Canada but definitely not by coming to the US. Our wages are not high, the tax rate is around the same 30% or higher by now with the tax hikes. This truly reminds me that we all have our individual circumstances that fees our perspectives and sometimes we do not realize what we have until it’s gone. Great discussion though #blessings

IIIrd world people from countries with corruption and broken down infrastructure-no roads, streetlighting, limited electricity with load shedding, poor healthcare, filthy unpotable water because they dont pay their taxes..........complaining about services provided to them in a Socialist country because one follows the rules here..........????

US is no better. The only difference is there may be more activities to do. There is no tax shield here. They take 40-60% taxes from those that make a certain income per year. There is racism and discrimination here, depression from all of the above, the healthcare system is not free but since Covid and pandemic began, there is an even greater shortage of staff in the healthcare system. Common items that were once available are lacking because of short staff and wars in other countries.

This video for privileged people, not people struggling to survive. In a country like Nigeria, a PhD holder is applying for trucking driving job and secondary teaching job. They would be grateful to move to Canada for a befitting job and will be excited to pay tax. Many with good educational background don't even have any job at all. At least Canadian government takes taxes and provide good infrastructure. In Nigeria, the government takes your tax and nothing works, no jobs, no security, no healthcare, no good roads or infrastructure. It's difficult to travel inter state without being kidnapped. Your family sells all your properties and pay the ransom but still be killed. You can even be gunned down in your house or on the street just for next to nothing. All my relatives in Canada are happy with their families and are begging me to come. Even people with good jobs are moving to Canada. They're not doing it for themselves for the future of their children, for peace of mind, security and to escape poverty. \n\nIf you're in doubt please move back to Nigeria then you will know Canada is heaven. Many have resorted to prostitution and crime because they believe they don't have any other way to survive. I want to come to Canada not to get rich but to get a decent job and live a meaningful life with my family. I will be more than grateful to contribute to the progress of Canada even beyond paying my taxes.

I used to reside in Canada for years and I now leave in the US, when it comes to healthcare you shouldn't be complaining about being in the emergency room for 8 hours. You will wait for 8 hours here in the US and end up losing your home because of the medical bill after the 8-hour wait. Yes, I agree with you on taxation but you get great schools, good roads, safe neighborhoods, and free healthcare and all these have to be paid for collectively. Can you imagine if you were not to be taxed but instead get monthly bills for all these services?

same in USA except no minimum paid vacation maybe 5 days to 2 weeks max and for some companies none at all..if tou take a vacation you dont get paid...aside from the weather, better tax treatment in certain US states(I live in Florida) and people are friendlier in the US..healthcare is mafia run very unaffordable so you must have insurance and even then its very expensive...every system has its weaknesses..ideally work in US get paid in US dollars and spend summer and autumn in Canada...then theres double taxation so you want to make sure you are in a position where you make you money in the States so you dont get taxed from Canada as well

The cost of living  is the money needed to sustain a certain comfort level in a location. The cost of living covers basics like housing, groceries, taxes, and healthcare. Some countries have a very high cost of living particularly in areas surrounding large cities. For example, in the USA cities like New York and San Francisco have a very high cost of living, while areas such as rural Mississippi,  Kansas or Oklahoma  may be notably more affordable . Moreover, no matter where in the U.S. (or the world) one lives, costs may be lower still—or even higher—in another country. Some nations have a very low cost of living. Canada is still one of the world's best countries to live in.

Many of this applies to US.. they remove heavy tax from my salary.. healthcare isn’t free, you will have to wait as well at the emergency; I can’t count how many times I waited frustrated. \n\n\nTo be honest I think it’s worse is usa, it’s just that there are jobs.

Salams, my African sisters. I loved your informative video it’s very similar to living in the US, where I’m from. Here it is much worse, there is RACISM, CRIME, ect. You would wait 8 hours in hospital but have to pay thousands yourself. The taxes are less here but you spend so much more in healthcare and at work you get one week of vacation and you’re discouraged to take it. The cost of living is high here as well. I love hearing about Canada you are both so beautiful and blessed.

All the programs and help the government provide to people, new immigrants /people without papers including, do not come cheap; the money has to come from somewhere... taxes are a small price to pay to have a society that aims to be equal where the education and healthcare you get do not depend on you income level.

Your complaints about like in Canada are ridiculous, nearly everything you whine about is true in other countries as well. Tax burden is the same in the US and you don't have universal healthcare. I hope you find a country that suits you better, don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

You need taxes for your hospitals, rads, defence etc. The health care problem is not unoque to Canada. We also have it in the UK. The healthcare system is much much better than in the USA and better than in West Africa. Cost of living is high everywhere. You don't look homeless. Try living in the USA. Go back to college and get a better qualification and earn more. In the USA you are more likely to be shot than in Canada. Go back to University and get a good degree or try Nigeria or Ghana. What people fail to understand is that the grass is always greener on the other side...until you get there and realise that its just different shades of green. There are so many benefits to living in Africa. And there are benefits to living in western countries too. If you like jobbing (being an employee), saving for retirement and having a stable government to protect your investment or give you welfare benefits and having free healthcare and generally living a risk-free life, then abroad is for you. There are downsides though - while you have good roads and healthcare, you can hardly save, your mental health is on the line, you probably will have no social life, the genetically modified food, polluted air, chemicalized everything will cut your life span down. You can be an enterpreneur but the taxes alone, the regulation, etc can discourage you. \n\nIn Africa, there are security concerns but the same security concerns exist in all countries, only they differ in their nature. In Africa, I can grow my food, I can build my house according to my budget (no mortgage), I can start a business any day, i can feed on little money ( you can find markets that sell cheap food produce). And most importantly for me, the health factor - organic food, family and friends to help with your mental health and laugh and cry with you as the occasion demands. \n\nAnd now the icing on the cake - you can make the same dollar you make abroad from your country! So many online platforms to be a freelancer, to work for companies and individuals abroad. So you are making the same money and not drowning in taxes, in high rents, insurance fees and you can afford top-notch healthcare, even better than what you can get abroad. \n So it's up to you. Stop believing that abroad is better. it's not actually. I swore I wouldn't raise a child in London because of the high rate of knife crimes on the streets and the government' s lax attitude towards it because such crimes involve black kids. I wouldn't mind paying taxes considering my kids will get quality basic education for it and quality healthcare....compare that with what you would get in your home country where you still pay taxes and they don't benefit you ...broken system that won't serve you

The taxes are to pay for your “ free” healthcare. That’s why thousands of Canadians cross the border and come to the US for healthcare. Canada is too cold for me.

My sister who works as an RN in Los Angeles told me that she has worked alongside Canadian, British, Aussie nurses in hospitals. California has the highest salaries for nurses in the US if not the entire world. At the height of the pandemic it wasn't unheard of for some of them to make $100/hour. Canada has been losing a lot of experienced healthcare workers to the US and this is partly the reason why their system is at a breaking point. It seems to me that Canada even with it's high cost of living and taxes is still attractive to folks coming from developing countries coz a single person who saves an average of $500/month is still better off than living in their home countries. But there've been thousands of cases of folks coming from Europe, Oceania and well-off countries in Asia who surrendered their PR cards at Pearson and other ports of entry.

I don't think higher tax rate is a good point when you compare it to a country like Nigeria. The maximum tax rate you can pay in Nigeria is 24% and it begins from anything from 5.6 million naira per annum. After paying that tax you pay for the school fees of your children, and you pay that 3 times every year, Asides school fees you buy generator and fuel it everyday to get something close to constant power supply. (I don't want to include healthcare because if you have a good HMO they will sort out that perfectly well)\nSome of us still pay security due if you live in an estate. \n\nThe point I am trying to make is that if your tax rate is high let's say to up to 50% and you are sure of the quality of education your children is getting in public schools so you don't have to pay for school fees, You don't have to buy generator and fuel it because there's constant electricity supply and there's good security so you don't have to pay for private security. You might realized that tax rate in Canada is effectively cheaper than here in Nigeria. Because you will still pay for school fees, generator and maintenance and private security and all these have a way of eating deep into your income.

This is a multicultural society and a very successful one, we all mingle with each other and we love it! Loneliness?!! Come on! Have you been to Europe anywhere?!! :)) you won't last a month! Taxes are not too high at all and healthcare does work. I had a brain tumor removal for free and they admitted me after 2 days! If these don't make you feel right at home here, nothing will! This is everywhere. I live in the us and my wife waited 15 hours in the emergency room. On top of that we pay taxes and $500 a month for healthcare and still get healthcare bills in the mail. Add all that up and it's about the same as canada

It's worse in the US especially for middle income earners. They are taxed over 30 percent and still paying for their health insurance which is expensive. The immigrants crossing the borders are getting free food, free Healthcare, free housing and free phones. Hence the reason why they are coming in large numbers. At some point, this country will collapse.

I would rather pay my taxes to a fully functional government that can provide great public healthcare, education, competent police force with low crime rate and overall good infrastructure. \n\nIn South Africa I already pay 41% income tax. Live is a security estate where I pay over $340 per month for the upkeep over and about my mortgage bond and property taxes. I have a car and pay insurance and tracker because I cannot rely on public transport. I have private medical aid because I cannot rely on public health care. When I have children I will probably send them to private school because the good public schools are few. Electricity supply is not reliable. \n\nHonestly, I’d rather take my chances with Canada than see my hard earned money go down the drain they way it happens here in South Africa.

These girls its basically Nigeria that is doing them..from complaining about paying taxes to everybody having the same healthcare provisions..after fulfilling an application process of years to get to the Canada..all of the things mentioned in this video are basic observations that Nigerians typically refuse to take into consideration..

These taxes are also used to take care of immigrants when they just come in e.g., the free healthcare. Hence as an immigrant when you finally start working it makes sense to pay back so others can enjoy what you've enjoyed. It's the same way in the US. Hence it's funny when immigrants complain. You enjoyed it now you have to provide for others also.

What you are not telling your viewers is that higher taxes in Canada pay for the free healthcare for all which the US does not have. The cost of healthcare in the US if you happen to be poor and without insurance can wipe you out. This is the major reason for the difference in taxes. There is obviously room for improvement in health care delivery.

Free healthcare is not free we Canadians have to pay for it and that is one of the reasons why our tax is so high and having this kind of healthcare means it will take you a long time to get treatments done and we have to wait a long time to see a doctor where places like the USA you have to have insurance or pay cash but you get it done quick and don't have to live with pain for a long time but if you are in need of emergency issues right away they will get you in as soon as they can but for non life threatening issues prepare to wait a long time.

I am starting to feel like that, I am looking at other countries plus their healthcare is poop, complete garbage (they could not even find out that I had a bone fracture). These rules are crazy too a license for everything, is just a business an excuse to pay more for the freaking prime minister to squander our taxes and seems like the media is like the CCP government media propaganda.

I'm Canadian and I love both Canada and the US. However, I don't think I would live permanently in the US because I think life is better in Canada overall. We have free healthcare, so no medical bills and no health insurance to deal with. Only a bigger tax bill that doesn't change according to your health situation. We have much less crime, especially gun related crime. We have less poverty and a much better social safety net. It horrifies me how many Americans are homeless even if they previously had a good job, but they had to stop working because of a health condition. We have less political extremism and polarization. Extremist Christians have no control over our politics, so LGBTQ+ rights and women's rights are much safer here than in the US. We don't have cities being burnt down by antifa on one side, and elections and social peace being jeopardized by MAGA extremists on the other. On a more positive note, I love the weather of the US, their fast food joints, their local food, the landscapes, the cheaper gas and all the attractions. I really wish the US could solve all its problems and become a better country. Maybe one day, we could end up similar and open our borders like Europeans do with the Schengen Accord.

In the U.S., for healthcare, you would pay something like $7,500 for a 'bronze' package, $11,000 for a 'silver' package, and $17,000 for a 'gold' package. In Canada, on average, citizens pay about $7000 in taxes which covers it all, only does it for everyone. You'll hear people complain about government mismanagement, but most of the countries in the world do a damn good job of it. Much better than the heartless system the U.S. has. My father collapsed and went to have his heart-valve replaced at the Heart institute in Ottawa. I paid for parking and needing a place to stay, they allowed me to stay at the doctor's onsite residence. That was it. My father-in-law had his knee-replacement surgery pushed back because more critical needs were placed on the operating room. Healthcare in Canada is a team effort, so treating things like Covid with respect was done much more diligent. Canada had less deaths than places like Florida or Texas. Don't understand where this 80% coverage statement comes from.

Well it's not free Healthcare. Our taxes are much higher than in the US to cover this. Also it's not as good as paid for US medical care

My experience about Canada after living here for a few years now: \n1): Healthcare: There are two sides of it. If you need a specialist, forget about it, just live with your disease or problems and hope it will cure itself and won’t get worse. If you are in a life threatening condition and need a surgery, you’ll get it and the medical bill won’t scare you. I needed a dermatologist, never got one, eventually had to fly to the US for a simple treatment. \n2): Taxes: You’ll pay extra to take care of the large aging population of Canada and to maintain the infrastructure in the extreme cold weather. But, you can make a good use of your RRSP and TFSA accounts, and you can also buy American stocks without paying taxes. \n3): Travel and transportation: Forget about public transportation methods like buses and trains. You’re on your own. But a vehicle ownership isn’t very hard here. \n4): Social networking: Good luck with that. Good luck finding friends here or being a part of a friends group. Canadians are polite but not outgoing and extrovert. Most people make a few friends in Schools and College. You’re not going to see people of different races and origin hanging out with each other. \n5): Real estate: Population is growing, population is aging, it’s all happening but what’s not many houses are getting built. Buying your own house isn’t easy. If you’ve bought one, good luck with the energy prices. \n5): Landscape: It’s gorgeous out here, if you want to be happy in Canada, go out for sightseeing.\n6): Jobs: Totally depends in which jobs you can fit in and what previous experience you have. If you have previously done exactly what the job profile is asking for, for sure you can find a job.\n\nIn the end I would say, I have lived in many places, each come with their downsides, you have to see what works for you. There’s isn’t a perfect world really there isn’t. You have to take the bad with the good.

Canada is always looking for slave labor. The Healthcare system is broken. Taxes are outrageous. People are mostly psychotic.

I'm not happy but we have to admite that Canada is no longer a good country to move to because of high taxes, extreme climate, poor and slow healthcare system, impossible to buy a house. This is so sad because Canada is a extremly beautiful country and the canadians are so nice and polite people.

Not sure where you ladies migrated from but the healthcare in Canada is terrible for a country that calls itself wealthy! What is more important in life than health and getting timely access to services. I have had to wait 6 months for a simple ultrasound, my friends had to wait a year for an MRI, more than a year to see a specialist of any kind. Not only that the administration procedures are backward where they send an appointment letter by Canada Post (not kidding). \nTaxes are extremely high! I know doctors who make decent money pay close to 55% of their salary in taxes. Housing in Toronto and Vancouver is sky high and you may be working all your life to afford a 2BR condo. \nMy advice is unless you are coming from a country that is down right terrible (Eastern European, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc.), it is better to stay home. Additionally, if you think you will ever get rich in Canada, then you must get your head examined by a neurologist first.

I'm from Quebec and moved to Alberta and I agree it could be a great province to live in, except if your job is in Montreal and you want to commute. The traffic of Montreal is horrible, even worse than Toronto's. The healthcare and education systems of Quebec are also inferior to Alberta, BC and Ontario because of the very heavy bureaucracy. Oh and heavy bureaucracy = Higher taxes than elsewhere in the country. But Quebec has a good quality of life in general because of its low cost of living in general and its strict controls on rent, car insurance and electricity prices, which prevent these from going up by too much. People tend to benefit from more government protections towards abusive businesses in Quebec than elsewhere in the country. Quebec also has cheaper beer, but wine and spirits are cheaper in Alberta. That province also doesn't have a lawsuit culture because of its no-fault rules in many aspects (For ex: You cannot be sued for causing a car accident or failing to clear snow from your driveway.) Alberta is more boring (At least, Edmonton. Calgary looks very cool.), but has better public services and better economic potential than Quebec. It's better in my opinion to raise a family in Alberta. And many people think you can move to Quebec without knowing French. That's false, except if you really wanna hate your time in Quebec. In terms of the climate, Quebec has a milder climate than Alberta but has more snow and their summers are very damp, while Alberta has more comfortable and dry summers. Owning an A/C is imperative in Quebec.

I wanna leave because of low salary in tech, bad healthcare waitlist, small consumer market, high taxes, high cost of living.

Quebec has the highest income tax rates, the poorest healthcare system, and I know how my wife got into a life threatening situation becaus of the indigence of the system, her colleague lost her father becaus the hospital did forget to call him for hs cancer surgery!!! You cn wait up to 10 years to get a family doctor! Don't let the slaughtered french language and faux france feel fool you. Queec is a dump! And btw, bill 96 plans to reduce english speaking clinics, services to the anglophones, and reduce the possibility for french speaking queneckers to attend englis community colleges. I live here now for 13 years and I agree this Reference and Canadian experience BS is reticules!!! Furthermore discriminating since some non Canadian Countries eg.
