Mr. Trudeau, we don’t want it either. Please feel free to impose a 1000% tariff on Teslas.

Trump was right for starting the tariffs. Canada did not play fair to begin with.
|

dumb trudeau. They are applying tariff on 450 billions of canadian export to US. You are talking about tax on 150 billion. Who wins? You are screwed. Use your brain if you have one

As much as I dislike Trudeau, and I'm glad he's saying this. Ukraine and tariffs are probably the only thing I agree with him on.

In 2022, the CDC reported over 90,000 drug overdose deaths, with a large portion linked to prescription medications—mainly opioids.\n\nIn 2022, there were about 73,000 fentanyl-related overdose deaths in the U.S., according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse \n\nTobacco kills approximately 480,000 people per year in the U.S.\n\nThis includes 41,000 deaths from secondhand smoke exposure.\n\nWith these numbers you’re think we’d be going after big pharmaceutical companies and tobacco companies if Trump is so concerned with the health of Americans! ??♂️ \n\nThere’s no way these tariffs are about fetanyl ! He’s INTENTIONALLY crashing the market so he can buy low

We aren't blaming you for the tariffs or any of these messes. It's on our president as well as Elon Musk. A very dumb thing to do by our government. If I could I'd move to Canada.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
I hope Canada realizes tens of millions of us don't want this either. Don't call it the American tariff. Call it trump's tariff. That is what it is.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Trump is doing the same thing to Australia. The US has a trade surplus with us so tariffs make even less sense. Americans are turning on their close allies and siding with Russia. Insane.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Most of us did not vote for this! We recognize your predicament and do not blame you for having to implement like tariffs! Keep Canada strong. Most of America is behind you including me.

Canada’s 25% Tariffs? A Win for American Businesses in the Long Run\n\nAt first glance, Canada slapping a 25% tariff on U.S. goods might seem like a negative for America. But in reality, this move could actually work in our favor by making the U.S. economy stronger, more self-sufficient, and less dependent on foreign markets.\n\t1.\tBoosting American Manufacturing & Production – When Canada makes U.S. goods more expensive with tariffs, American businesses have a huge opportunity to shift focus to domestic markets and new trade partners. This could bring more production back home and reduce reliance on Canada.\n\t2.\tEncouraging Trade Diversification – The U.S. isn’t limited to Canada. If they want to play hardball, we can expand exports to other countries with fewer trade restrictions. Canada makes up about 15% of U.S. exports, but the rest of the world is wide open. This is a chance to diversify and strengthen our economy.\n\t3.\tMaking Canada Pay More for U.S. Goods – Tariffs don’t just hurt exporters—they also raise costs for Canadian consumers. If Canada wants American products, they’ll end up paying more or have to settle for alternatives that might be lower quality or more expensive from other countries.\n\t4.\tStrengthening America’s Negotiating Position – If Canada wants to raise tariffs, that gives the U.S. even more leverage in future trade talks. The U.S. economy is far larger and more powerful than Canada’s, and in the long run, they need us more than we need them.\n\t5.\tReducing America’s Trade Deficit – If fewer goods are exported to Canada, that means more products stay in the U.S. This helps lower dependence on foreign markets and could even stabilize prices for American consumers.\n\nBottom Line: Canada’s Move Hurts Them More Than It Hurts the U.S.\n\nIf Canada wants to put tariffs on U.S. goods, let them. In the long run, it pushes America to be more self-reliant, strengthens our industries, and forces Canada to pay the price for their own policies.\n\nAt the end of the day, America has the stronger economy, better resources, and more trade options—Canada needs U.S. trade more than we need theirs. If they want to make American goods more expensive, they’ll feel it a lot more than we will.

Why don't people know that Canada already has tariffs placed on our goods long before Trump....look it up... their tariffs are and were much higher....to the point were they benefited much more than the US did

Trudeau control your borders, you have no cards, have nothing compared to the USA... You chose the Tariff Match didn't you now... IF you had 'border' control in place, you wouldn't be able to spend 1 Billion dollars, and you wouldn't be acting just days ago... And yes Since Trump was Elected, border crossings lessened because illegals know they better get with it. Has nothing to do with you Trudeau. ANd you do sugar coat, well lie, about everything. Oh, and Dems don't have your backs. They are busy freaking out right now. lol

Isnt tRump's tariffs money supposed to finance the tax cuts? Seems obvious from his crook logic. Him first (bying dips with stock market manipulation), then his billionnaires friends with tax cuts.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
1:27 didn't CNN tell me over and over that Americans pay the tariffs? This doesn't pass the smell test..
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Trudeau was asked to do 1 thing. Take reasonable and responsible actions on drugs. He didn't. On purpose... He knew that this will cause tariff war which she wanted because now he will be able to blamed Trump for his government failures, price hikes, worsening standard of living in Canada, growin unemployment, inflation and other issues that Canada is facing, which are the reasons why Trudeaou is the least popular he ever was in there. Which is also why he will lose next elections and Pierre will replace him.

CANADA CHARGES THE US 10-300% TARIFFS. WAKE UP PEOPLE
|

All Americans want is reciprocal tariffs..(preferably zero%)if we cut a tree down the government is up our ass
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Do what you gotta do Canada. I fear half of my country unfortunately needs to learn the hard way. It's horrible that it will take a while until it hits the people who are being foolish and it will first hit people that aren't necessarily in alignment with the current administration.\n\nOur president expects that this illegal tariff (there's no emergency,) will be enough to scare you into some sort of sound byte that will stroke his precious ego. Do not give in. Don't let nonsensical bully-like actions win.

Cry baby Just build your factories here in USA and there is no tariff. We owe you nothing.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Don’t they already have really high tariffs on American products?
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Trudeau! Nobody likes you. You’re done. We want to vomit when you speak. You are a disgrace to this Country. You’ve ran our country into the gutter, killing hundreds of thousands of Canadian citizens with your reckless policies and corrupt agenda’s. Stop playing the victim you wounded narcissist. Canada deserves these tariffs. This is all on you. I pray daily that this country will be saved. The light keeps getting brighter as we inch closer to that election! Thank god for Pierre Poilievre!! And we love you Donald Trump!

Finally, a leader who is unafraid to tell the precise and articulate truth. Sadly, our republican leaders don't have the spine to tell Americans the truth about tariffs.
|

He said “should these tariffs not cease” and made it sound like ‘NOT-ZEEHS’
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
I do not like Trudeau at all, but I have never been more proud of something he said. Spot on! We will win against these unjust tariffs! Fuck Donald Trump
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Well done, tariff wars are not the same as diplomacy. Consider this happened in the first DT administration and the US lost those exports contracts to Brazil who gladly took them. DT had to send farmers a bail out and this, well this will likely be worse. Hang in there border states. Well done Canada. Tsk, tsk 'Donald'. US citizens, become 'Indivisible'.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
I honestly believe Trump wants these tariffs because the 25% tariff will go directly into government coffers and he needs money to cover the huge tax cuts he gave his cronies and the wealthy. Unfortunately, Americans will be paying this 25% tax. No winners on either side.

I think Mr. Trudeau is someone to look up to and respect. It is more than I can say for the ?that is running this country. We don't want these tariffs either. It's total stupidity.

fellow Anglo-Saxon clowns are fighting each other, this is the rotten Canadian Prime Minister who says Canadians are polite, even though they are America's pawns, in the past a Huawei official who is a Chinese citizen was arrested by Canada on Trump's orders, now they have finally gotten their karma by being charged with tariffs by Trump, the Canadian nation likes to suck up and now they feel how America is destroying Canada, like Canada doing evil to China.

Trump is the best and Trump will be great for America, he will increase Tariff, make everything cheap for USA while make the world PAY, and Trump will cut down prices in housing & groceries! MAGAforLife!
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
on the other hand, US with tariffs will protect its own borders from imported cheap goods and create local produced companies and products. So, no thanks, i will take the tariffs for American prosperity.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
i am surprised to see so many canadian idiots still endorsing this clown. Trump imposes tariff today for a reason -- this clown simply has inherently different philosophy and that is the reason Canada is punished today. Set aside right or wrong from the US side, a truly responsible leader should mitigate damage instead of soliciting them, and seek ways out instead of putting oil on fire.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Many people took up his Trumps cause. I do believe that Mexico should endure the tariffs but not Canada!
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
The tariffs America is changing is equal to what Canada charges !
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
This current regime is transmuting Trump's anger at the whole world into punitive measures. Tariffs will raise inflation, bullying and fingerwagging gratuitous. To use fentanyl and human trafficking and illegal border crossings as an excuse is chicken. Canada accommodated US by setting up commissions to combat each. So...what is the real schtick here? He is gonna alienate everybody but Putin.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Tariffs are not good for international relations, however it will force US companies to buy goods and services elsewhere, including from US companies.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
All he has to do is take out the Carbon Tax and we won't notice the tariffs. Mainstream is so full of it
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
All I heard was about all this wonderful stuff you did… AFTER being threatened with tariffs. Why not before? \nWhy does your BFF ally have to threaten tariffs before you place all of these wonderful things in place?
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
I stand with Trump but… I do not agree with the tariffs on Canada. I do not believe this is a good decision.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
The Tariffs are a part of the long game. Bring jobs back the the US. Buy Made in the USA.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Trudeau is a joke and trump knows it. You simple minded Canadians think Trudeau cares about Canada? Then why in spite of implemented tariffs is he still jacking up carbon tax April 1st? Wake up
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
This entire Trump tariff obsession has NOTHING to do with improving the US economy. It is specifically designed to destabilize the global economy, and force the all-out fighting WWIII war. The belief is this. Wreck the world, then have the oligarchs step in to fix it. Right. The very people bent on causing all the world's problems will be the saviours of mankind. Wake up world.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Enjoy the tariffs. I thought Canada got rid of this loser.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Trump: I love tariffs they are tremendous.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
The tariffs are designed to substantially increase the gaps between very wealthy and wealthy, and wealthy and working class within the US itself. The plan will work; that will be the state of things when DT is finally gone. Effects on Canada, Mexico, China and the rest of the world will be the collateral damage that results from this plan.

why are crying in the channel its just making you weak infront of donald trump trump didnt talk about this he just slapped you with tariff no more talks
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Well. Based ON THEIR WORD Trump paused the tariffs because of promises made ...... Just like Mexico they said they would secure their borders to help stop the flow if illegal immigrants, drugs, gangs and terrorists into the USA... THEY DID NOT. China did nothing to crack down on fentanyl being smuggled out of their country (although I think they would rather see American people die of overdoses. When Trump says he going to do something he does it.. no more Biden woosie politics.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Putting Tarrifs on American goods will only raise prices for Canadians. There is no justification for tariffs either side. stupid dangerous move
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
We will have to remember in the future that half of us voted for this. To not have the, “It wasn’t me…?” reaction. Why would anyone ever trust us again? Over half of us voted for this, he talked about tariffs throughout his campaign. I am so ashamed. We are not great, we are sloppy, stupid and small minded.
