I would not move to the US. I have vacationed 3 different times, so a man thrown against a car with multiple police drawing their guns on him and had a pointed at me the other time I went to the US. I’ve never seen a gun in public in Canada. I have not been to the US on over a decade and I will not be vacationing there as long as things continue to escalate they way they are. It’s unfortunate because there are so many beautiful places to visit and people are generally very friendly.

That’s why all the jobs are GONE, can’t get loans, DON’T care about getting valid drivers license or insurance and drive around AIMING AT THE PEOPLE!!! DON’T know what Red lights, yellow flashing lights, stop signs are used for, speed limits on the street and buying junk cars and fixing them up to do donuts in the street at 1,2,3,4,5,6 o’clock in the morning! It’s truly overwhelming and NOTHING can be done! Unfortunately the city belongs to um and NOT for the good!

I would love to move to US but unfortunately I do not have a career that’s in high enough demand down there to get a green card, and I’m already married so that’s not an option….need to win lotto so I can invest 500k into US business and employee people I guess?

When I was young, late 50's early 60's, I was jealous of people living in the US. We'd go to my Dad's professional conferences in various areas and everyone seemed to drive such expensive cars and live in such big houses. Now I know that's just window dressing. You have to look at what's underneath. I didnt see the poverty and the racism. Canada unfortunately has people who would like to take Canada down the same road as the US. We have good medical care, a social net, respect human and reproductive rights, attempt to keep religion out of politics, gun control (a pro hunter here!) , fair school funding (the whole province, not just district), and the list could go on. Is it perfect? No but its a whole lot better than the US. We Canucks just need to keep fighting for improvements and it isnt an American model for most of them. \nWe had always planned to take holidays and see various parts of the US. No more. The lack of gun laws is really scary, especially when combined with hate. We're not timid travellers. \n\nMove there... maybe California .

I grew on the border of Ontario and Northern New York State and have spent lots of time with people from the Southern United States and generally the people are very polite, on the surface. Unfortunately, as you get to know people you find out that many have some serious biased opinions on things that we in Canada have always been more accepting of. The last few years it’s been sad to see these views start spreading to our beautiful country. After Donald Trump and the rise of right wing conspirators the US is the last place I would want to live.

No, I wouldn’t. I just moved from Vancouver to London, uk. Lots of people asked why I didn’t move to New York. Main reason is health care. I’m a self employed hairstylist and no one is providing health care for me. Second is gun violence in general, mass shootings are a big issue, just because it hasn’t happened in your small city, doesn’t mean it won’t. Mass shootings are just the most extreme version of gun violence. I don’t want the people walking down the street next to me to possibly be carrying a gun on them. That is truly terrifying to me. Third is that politics are so extreme and so prevalent. Lastly the fact that women’s rights are being taken away. I absolutely cannot support a country with very little benefits and aid for those who cannot afford to have a child, that then makes them have a child. That’s the briefest way I can explain my feelings, I could go on and on, but I’ll leave it at that. \n\nThe only benefit I see in moving to the us from Canada is for certain opportunities, and those come in big cities, so there’s absolutely no point in moving to then live in a small city. \n\nI appreciate that you’re being introspective as you go through the video. Unfortunately gun violence is a massive one for many Canadians, even when they travel to the us. Now that I’m in London, I hear a lot of the same sentiments being mirrored by the Brits. No one wants to lose their health and safety just to move to the us. It’s sad that, even as you represented, most Americans have settled into just accepting these problems, when they don’t need to be there.

Tyler, I very much appreciate your insightful thoughts. I have been watching your videos for the past few months and you regularly make me smile with your analyses. I have to join the many people who have responded and will also say no to the question. I last visited the US 4 years ago when I drove through upper Michigan to northern Wisconsin. The scenery was delightful and the people in the small communities were wonderful. What really scared me was all the billboard signs advertising guns in Michigan. I was very aware of my driving and tried not to do anything that might annoy someone and cause road rage. That is so unfortunate that you have to worry about the driver next to you. I have not been back to the US since and do not plan on any future visits even though I would dearly love to take my camper to the many beautiful, natural parks your country has.

I appreciate that you reflect on things and are open minded enough change your way of thinking. Many humans can not change general thoughts and values and stick to their guns no matter what. Your feelings toward school shootings changed quickly, which is good. Unfortunately, many people feel removed and distant from this violence. That’s why it doesn’t change or improve. Americans are conditioned to accept it.

Canadians who say that they'd never move to the USA fall into these groups:\n\nA) Ignorant: People who get their news about the USA from the CBC or any of the other MSM FAKE NEWS outlets.\n\nB) Leftists/Liberals: People who would only ever move to Leftist/Liberal havens, such as New York, California or Washington; and they're aware of how those states are extremely dangerous, with violent crime on the rise, extremely high taxes and fascist governments that make Trudeau look good.\n\nC) The Elderly: Unfortunately, most elderly people in Canada are on a fixed income; and the meager healthcare they're allowed to receive is still far better than anything they can afford in the USA.\n\nI'd consider moving to a number of states in the USA. Love your videos, and I think you may be desensitized to a lot more than just the gun violence.\nThe US seems to be playing boil the frog with their people, and unfortunately, it appears to be working.\nI don't even like to visit the US. I can not imagine the circumstances that would have to be in play to get me to move there. I'd probably choose it over Russia, but it is far from the top or even the middle of my list. The guns, random violence, and the insane political/religious extremism that are the US norm are off-putting. \nMost of the Americans I've met have been lovely people, but their country is very nearly a no-go zone, and that saddens me.

The health of a country, or the health of an individual which are clearly linked, is dependent on our ability to see ourselves and each other, and make necessary changes to improve in the areas that we lack personally, and as communities in our beautiful country of Canada and other countries as well. Solution: elders teach their grandchildren languages that weren’t erased by genocide and environmental /spiritual cultural practices and lifestyles before they’re gone by paying first people elders and streaming it into all Canadian classrooms so the children can see a future where they’re valued and all Canadian kids can get a full education and learn accurate history. Making canoes, baskets, sacred ceremonies, food growing (that they taught to pilgrims so they’d survive here), etc. No, I’m not indigenous. I’m an immigrant like all but the first people. They’ve an amazing culture that’s been all but lost . When we don’t see ourselves represented in any media, any careers, and start our lives in extended poverty based on our race, and all that was taken still today, it’s no wonder the teen suicide rate for indigenous youth is more than double / triple all non - indigenous youth. The numbers are growing. \nI live in Care due to my physical disabilities . An international nursing student worked for me providing personal care like showers, meal prep etc and over that year, she said she wouldn’t have moved here specifically because of a few things I’ve mentioned. She told me Canada was sold to people in her country of origin as a ‘multicultural’ safe haven without extreme racism still prevalent today and within our history. \n\nI’m ashamed of Canadian government promises for over 100 years that aren’t fulfilled. All children deserve healthy drinking Water and an education. Period. Especially, the ambassadors of this amazing land that they see as themselves without separation. That’s accurate. Yea Mexico needs to do something. Unfortunately the cartels run the show down there. They have more equipment and weapons than the Mexican army. We need a wall. The UK is pretty much like Canada, now. There is only room for the 5% who are rich (the capitalists & rentiers) and the 35% of people on Benefits (the 35% of population who live off welfare paid for by the State using the hard-working tax payer's money). The honest, hard-working middle-class (about 50 to 60% of society) are absolutely screwed and doomed, because all they can now do is keep working their guts out till they drop dead, and never hope to have a decent life. The culture of state-funded Welfare has now gotten so bad that I now live in a street where some 30% of the people who live off Welfare have been given State funded houses, and those houses which are bigger and better than mine (all paid for using my tax money). And I have slogged my entire life (I am 65 now) to pay off a large mortgage on a house that eventually has lower value than the houses that people on Welfare are given on the same Street! Worse still, now that I am approaching the stage where I might need to go into a Care Home, my house (which I worked for my entire life to attain) will have to be sold off to pay for my Care Home costs. While my neighbours who never worked a single day in their life (and whose life was subsidized using my tax money) will again get free state-funded Care Home facility too! It utterly beggars belief. \n\nWhen state-funded Welfare gets to a point that doing an honest day's work actually penalizes you, because all you are doing is funding the lifestyles of the other half of society who wish to sponge off State Welfare (due to the high taxes the Government is forced to impose on the working middle-class to support the 35% on State benefits), then that society can never prosper, firstly because it removes the motivation to work hard, and secondly because some day the Government will run out of money to continuing funding the lavish lifestyles of people on State Welfare. And that is very much now the state of affairs in countries like Canada, the UK, and much of EU. It is an unsustainable model. \n\nBy contrast, in countries like the US, China, India, etc. there is a much greater correlation between hard work and reward. Choosing to not go to work and sponging off Governmental welfare is simply not an option. And that is precisely why countries like these will continue to prosper in the coming years - because they have some form of Meritocracy. Unfortunately, I think countries like the UK, Canada, and most western EU countries are looking at a downward spiral, and there are no easy solutions, because their Welfare model has already created these huge segments of society which depend on it and will not allow it to be demolished - but the day is fast approaching where they will all soon run out of money to continue funding it (most of these countries are already facing huge Debt-GDP ratios, and there is no conceivable way of them coming out of it).

There are homeless and unemployed Americans. Some of which are Veterans. Unfortunately, we can not collect all the people from third world countries. We just can not do it. The expense would be too great.??

It's kind of unfortunate but I really do believe we need a private group of citizens to go out and start hunting these illegal immigrants in the desert leaving swathes of bodies strewn across the land. These people are only coming like this because they are being told that they will be safe and that the Americans will be too afraid to fight back. I came to the states when I was little unfortunately I had to start working I was 15 I worked in a restaurant so i could support my sick mother in my country then I learned English and moved into a different job I never had the opportunity to go to the school since Noone would supported me !! I fall in love with some US girls we have 2 kids she worked sometimes I never pushed her to do so ! I tried to fix papers but the lawyers took my money and never did nothing about it ! I got into a traffic incident I got a ticked and fine once I payed off I get caught and sent back to a place I should call home !! I don't know nobody here don't know the place anymore !! dangerous people crazy !! my kids abandoned in the states now probably their mother asking for help to the government? who knows the last thing I heard is she was selling what it used to be our properties! I don't have contact with my kids anymore ! is horrible then we have this people just going there and getting asylum??? not fare!

They don’t realize the harm they’re doing to the ones that already here illegally and are trying to do the best to get do everything right without breaking the laws , such as paying taxes. It’s selfishness from their part for what they’re doing and it’s only harming people like me. I’m was brought here to the US when I was 2 years old I am now 20. I graduated high school , don’t have any felonies or misdemeanors. I have a degree for machine technology and I can’t work because I don’t have a work permit , and these people are coming and getting all these privileges I never got. This is causing bad to those who are already here and are trying to do everything according to the law and yet we have no support in getting atleast a work permit. I agree daca was unconstitutional which is why they’re trying to shut it down but trump was trying to make something happen for teens that were brought here at a young age. Unfortunately people are blind and selfish and only care about themselves, I get it that they live in poverty because so did we. And my beautiful mother suffered so much. But atleast wait until the US can do something about those who are already in weather it’s helping them or not. There’s so much problems happening right now in the United States such as mass shootings. Let the authorities, government officials , etc try to clean up the United States from how bad it’s getting before raiding the border and causing a burden and headache to those who are in office trying to come up with solutions to this madness.

We have a leader who seems to be deeply invested in shutting down our oil and gas industry. He shut down oil and gas. Which put hundreds of people out of work. Then he slapped us with a carbon tax. He told us the carbon tax dollars would be invested toward producing green energy projects and manufacturing jobs. So far, the Carbon tax went up again, he banned plastic straws, he’s hitting our farmers with heavy restrictions on fertilizer, because it’s not green enough. \nMany of our indigenous communities have been living for years with contaminated water. He promised he was going to ensure the indigenous communities have access to clean drinking water. He has not fulfilled that promise. \nHe’s bidding $30 billion dollars to hopefully sign a deal to manufacture electric car batteries for Volkswagen. \nHe’s investing in other projects, as well. Unfortunately, he’s only investing in eastern provinces. \nSo far, there has been no investments in western provinces yet. Many of the out of work oil and gas workers in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba are still waiting on the jobs they were promised. \nLow wages, high inflation, high taxes and high income housing is bringing a lot of us to our knees. \nOur leader is corrupt. It seems like every week there is another corrupt scandal he and his government are involved in. \nI can’t speak for every Canadian, but I can say with absolute certainty that a large number of us are sick and tired of our current leader. Most of us live with the hope that if our leader can get voted out. Canada may have a chance to go back to the way our beautiful country used to be.

Oh mate, there is no place like home. Unfortunately, many of us just keep on searching. People are the problem. If you come across the wrong people you are unlikely to like the place. Unfortunately they are everywhere. You just have to put up with a shit situation.

It's unconscionable that we've invited people to come to Canada without actually following through on the promise we made to them in the first place. Was it all just sloganeering designed to appeal to liberal progressive NIMBYers? Was there ever any intent on actually doing something for these poor people beyond a sound bite or photo op? \n\nThe solution to migration because of war, terror, famine and so on is not by opening up the borders and allowing everyone in, the solution to mass migrations (over 100 million worldwide) is to tackle the conditions that make such migrations necessary. Almost without exception, each one of these migrant/refugee situations are the result of political problems that have to be tackled in those countries where the conditions exist. There are over 100 million people fleeing conditions that make life unbearable, even if we wanted to, how are we to take them all into North America? How does anyone propose we do that, and even if we could manage it somehow, another 100 million would show up on our doorstep next year...or next week...it's simply not possible or reasonable to expect us to be overwhelmed by wave after wave of the poor unfortunate. The solutions to war and famine abroad can't be found here and we need to make it plain that people who live in such conditions must first rise up to help themselves. We can and should help, politically, through foreign aid and individual donations (North Americans are among the most generous donators after all), and even militarily where feasible or possible. The UN and other coalitions of nations, must each take up the burdens before people smugglers take it up for them. We have our own problems to deal with here and I'm not willing to vote for promises made that were never meant to be kept.

Some of your points are great - some are regional - housing issues are definitely a problem in some cities - Toronto and Vancouver are ridiculous- Calgary at the moment has tight inventory- landlord issues really depend on where you live. Taxes are due April 30th not the 1st. It can be difficult to get hired in your trained profession as an immigrant for the reasons you’ve shared. Our company consists of about 80 percent new immigrants, but we need people with Canadian work experience on their resume. It is costly training - and firing is something we DON’T want to do. So we need good references to hopefully avoid that issue. You were very fortunate to get a Dr so quickly. Again the specialist referral issue truly is more about your Dr than the system. A lousy Dr won’t refer patients because they don’t have the contacts. It’s more complicated than you’ve shared. I have had no problems with referrals because I’ve had good Drs. New Drs will have a harder time and unfortunately those are the ones taking new patients- hopefully those issues change as they get established.

They left their mother country and now trying to sneak in another country. Unfortunately the illegal immigrants will not be able to settle down anywhere and the countries that help them without any condition will broke I believe. The countries must prioritize their citizen and the people who immigrate abiding by law and paying all process fee appropriately. All lives matters but nothing is free.

This is very unfortunate. But we have too many people here homeless and starving. More starving people means more crime. Sad but true. We can help our neighbors but those that are not citizens we can’t help or we all will die. I will pray for them. I have relatives that can use some money and a medical card.

A man came to my job looking for work. Unfortunately we where not hiring. I asked him politely are you legal to work here because I know some people that are hiring. He says yes the government already gave me a medical card, cell phone and some $$. I've been here my entire life. I've had to work for everything I have ... Doesn't seem fair.

How sad, people are fleeing their homelands because their own government can not keep them safe and give them \na better life in their homeland. It’s very sad for the innocent people that just want to have better life. I feel for the migrants . Unfortunately America is having many issues to take care own citizens. Crime and homeless is out of control in America. These migrants will most likely see a rude awakening thinking life is better in America .

How desperate must you be to enter a country like USA? you have expensive health care, no holidays, I work only 32 hours a week!! but I guess there'll always be people more unfortunate than you.

They just want a better life for themselves and their children.. their country is in shambles, people starving, can't find jobs. They need to fight for leadership change unfortunately in that country they shoot you if you try to go against the government. With everyone struggling there's not much chance of overthrowing the government so they run to other countries where they think we can provide a better life. In the past I wouldn't have had an issue with this,. but our own issues have been getting worse and worse,.

I know there’s people that need help but this just isn’t how it’s done. There’s a process and a reason for it. If your very first act is to break laws, you shouldn’t be here. Unfortunately there are women and especially children in the mix who really need help and protection but, as always, selfish men ruin it for everyone else.

I’m sorry no, enough immigrants coming here illegally. No. They need to get it the legal way like everyone else. And there needs to be cap of how many we take yearly even than. It’s getting crazy for the people who live here to even get resources as Americans because of all these people. Yes, unfortunately Americans need to come first.

I don't think people realize that Mexico does not have the resources to hold all the South American and Central American migrants , unfortunately these humans are desperate they're fleeing violence and hunger they won't stop

This is the thing guys we are have the highest inflation ever in at least five decades, we have poor American citizens living on the streets homeless and with no food, we are going into the biggest recession in united states of America has ever seen since 2008, we have the highest interest rates in many years that we have ever seen and a lot of people are going to lose their jobs in the next at least 18 months, we have the worse health care system and people are getting sick and dying. \nTimes have changed unfortunately and this is year 2023, not 500 or 300 or 100 or even 50 years ago and there is no comparison.\nWe need to close our borders and take care of our own united states of America citizen first.\nLet's stop sending trillions of dollars in cash to other foreign countries like Ukraine and letting people illegally in our country. ?

The amount of immigrants I see illegally enter and cross into El Paso are insane. I know this from living right next to it all. We are talking at least once a week seeing 8+ individuals at once or even more. . . Women, Men, young Teens and even children. . . They enter our homes to find a safe haven and flee from border patrol that is roaming the streets and it’s a constant battle of keeping your home safe from people that may or may not be good people. It’s unfortunate. My grandfather immigrated to the US from Mexico years ago and did so legally. He established our family here and any other relatives since have crossed legally and obtained citizenship. It’s a hard and long process but it’s necessary.

Desperate people are refugees and unfortunately Americans forget their roots... Let them through

It's a shame people in Western countries go to jail for defending themselves. The Police need to look the other way & let's fight it out for good and all. Unfortunately it won't happen unless the political institutions collapse.

I don’t believe every person crossing feels unsafe, most likely more than 60% are trying to take advantage of easy way in.. seems to be the pattern when these kinds of people come over, they start trying to pull off things that work in other countries… unfortunately many start taking advantage of the system and before you know it the country has to create new laws for everyone to follow

Its depressing to see people hating people for crossing borders illegally, first of all, borders shouldnt even exist, we are all humans and we ALL want a good life for us and our family, and unfortunately, depending on the place you are born you have a good life or a terrible one

How Dirty immigrants can help United State. I don’t care too much about them, but I want to share what we can get from these immigrants and how we can exploit everything and take advantage. \n \n1. Cheaper Tacos. \nI’m seeing some crazy Taco prices in my area. But We can lower the cost of tacos by bringing in more immigrants. More immigrants mean taco shops, taco shops make hot tacos and more tacos in the supply chain is all we need to bring Taco prices down. which means we can eat more tacos. Immigrant = Taco shop = Cheap Tacos = happy tummy \n \n2. Your precious time! \nWhy clean your own Cars, or your pets which take hours and hours. Your time is precious. You can save so much time for so little money and with that time you can work for even more money or go have a great time. Let’s all live like KING! Apply this to everything thing in your life you majestic being. \nCheap Labor + Little Money = More Money and Time \n \n3. Be a Great person without doing anything! \nWe want to be good neighbors, but my room is just too comfy. I know that feeling but you don't get many chances in life to help someone, this is our chance! Also, they are doing all the work. Let us all pretend that we did something and let them in. After this we can go back to playing video games or watching our favorite shows. \n \nYes. In the beginning They will need help since they came here so poor. But don’t you lift a finger. There are Church groups and Organization and if they are lucky, they might have family member. Our government could also pitch in if they really want as they can think of them as a small investment. A seed for the bigger picture, and we think big. We have abandoned neighborhoods and empty buildings and I would rather have hard-working people take over instead of all these crack-up druggies calling themselves homeless. This will build and strengthen our neighborhoods and trickle into a stronger country. \n \n4.Can’t own Slaves anymore, but we got the next best thing. \nCheap labor. We need to have our own Giant Factories and more Labor force and Health care worker relief. Let them in but they must work hard and cheaply and take Jobs most Americans don't want as they are starting from the bottom. Until they master English, they are not a threat to any jobs that you might want, and most don't even bother to learn which is good for us. \n \nHealthcare workers are working too hard. Let’s use migrants and help them out, immigrants can do all the labor-intensive and poop work so our healthcare workers can focus more on the health of the patients. This will reduce hospital bills since labor is a major cost to any business. We will also all receive better care at the hospital. \n \nUS companies and foreign companies are building factories in India or in Mexico when the same workers are at our doors. Let's build them here in the USA and we English speakers will have to manage them unfortunately since that’s the language of the Country. If you speak Spanish and English, you are going to have many jobs. \nEverything important should be made in America with all these workers. We can all have our own factories and business and exploit cheap labor flocking to our Great Country. We must use this to our advantage while it lasts. \nCheap labor we can Build houses that are affordable. Fix all the infrastructure we have been crying about. \n \n5. If War we're ready! \nIf we ever have another World War first one to go are minorities and poor people so, not only does it provide us with a bigger army, but you might not be first to get drafted. Not only that but because we have immigrants we would have stronger ties to those immigrant countries which can come in handy later. You never know which country will become the next global leader and we can always use military support. \n \nIf there are other legal exploitation, we can benefit from having immigrants into our Great nation please share!
