I left 1999 and returned 2223!!! OMG! It sucks! This is not the Canada I know. I'm here for my son who is going thru cancer treatment. He never wanted to leave Canada. My other son left for Australia & my daughter in Boston. They will never return!!!1 in 5 ....no fam. docs. Emergency is a nightmare. Most docs are young immigrants who are in meds to fulfill family dreams....dismissive, perfunctory, no critical thought processes etc. Housing sky high....I tell everyone to leave!!!!!

It's honestly getting tough to live anywhere. Global inflation is everywhere!! I live in The United States, and it's no better here, it's worse. There are many times I have thought of moving to Canada, because I'm so tired of the safety issues in this country. So tired of republicans stripping the rights away of the common people except for guns. They believe in everyone to carry any kind of weapon possible and it's killing our kids. I am tired of it. I would not convince anyone to live in my country right now, unless they want to live in a place that will be an authoritarian state in 5-10 years if the wrong people get back into power.

I just stumbled across this video. This is my first viewing of one of your videos and it was sad and painful to watch. I was born in Canada to immigrant parents. I grew up on a farm in Alberta. Listening to your memories of growing up resinated with me as that was my experience as well. Fast forward to today, my husband and I left Canada in 2022 and are currently in Mexico. We have thought about a return to Canada but the reports really don't give us hope. We will likely move again someday, but Canada isn't high on that list until something changes. I will look forward to seeing where you have chosen. Thank you for the honesty in this view.

Sorry to hear the country you live in and love is not what it used to be. It's the same here in the U.S. If you would like to live in the U.S. I have been watching and enjoying your videos for several years now. I hope wherever you move to you will enjoy it and have great success. From Poland. Arrived yo Canada at the end of 2020. I am nearing my 4th year here, in a small village. I arrived with my 6-year-old daughter to begin my writing career. Now, 40% of my daughter's childhood has been spent here and I I go to court soon to fight for my child to be returned home to me. After nearly one year- a year of financial hardship because I have to travel without a driver's license and without a group of friends to drive me- I have my very first hearing with a judge in Youth Court in a matter that has no foundation to begin with, follows no rule of law, and acts arbitrarily. My child whom I homeschooled to the praise of the provincial ministry of education and was following a classical liberal arts education path that had her outpacing students in the province was entrusted to the care of a Child Services company (that has a record of placements that have resulted in child murders). My child's life has been irrevocably upset to say the least. NO ONE LEAVING CANADA GIVES THIS STORY AS A RESON FOR QUITTING THIS COUNTRY. I guess no Canadians care about their children like I do my precious gift from God. True, O come from the former Soviet Union where Marshal Law (Emergency Measures Act) were commonplace. I lived through two in Canada in 4 years: one Federal, and one through Provincial Youth Court where I await my turn to see a judge after my daughter was removed from my care. People do not know they have no biological ownership of their children, because I guess few Canadians value their children to care about their own laws. But these laws also apply to immigrants too. What money was taken from me during the move and resettlement, the government takes by creating more expenses for me than I could ever imagine or budget for. Emotionally, I am a wreck. Rather than commencing my writing career, I have been seeking low-income lawyers, reading the provincial law on Youth Protection, filing complaints within a circular system (the watchdog is part of the system not outside of it) and preparing all evidence to prove I have done nothing wrong [just like in communist rule]. Have you ever given any thought to the difficulties in proving your innocence? \nNO ONESEEMS AWARE OF THIS DETERENT TO BRINGING CHILDREN TO CANADA. NO ONE. IT IS THE ONLY ONE I COULD NOT PLAN FOR. All other complaints like the economy, or the weather, or inflation I have survived. But taking away my child, my reason to settle in Canada for a life of freedom for her, my legacy, was unthinkable. People ask me in this small village where is my daughter. Their rosy cheeks become snow white when I tell them. Canadians here are unaware and scared like cattle in a thunder storm. Many are addicted to welfare payments, cannabis, prescription drugs, and television. They all seem to be waiting in a pen of fear. I am stuck here now, with little financial resource to fight for my child's life. It is unfortunate that no one will read my comment because it is an inscrutable wall of text or too frightening. Unless someone reads it, no help will come for my daughter. (Because she is a dual citizen, the local Polish Ambassador will not step in - another drawback for having a Canadian passport). Goodbye now.

My research, cause a lot of us have thought the same thing, is that it is not much better around the world. Much of the same issues that are destroying Canada are global and although some countries do it marginally better it is the same most other places. Don't get me wrong I wish you luck and the best but I just don't believe the grass is much greener elsewhere.

Canada is no longer great. As a third generation Canadian, I was always so proud of my citizenship and thought I was lucky to have been born in the best country in the world. Well, I no longer feel that way. This country is turning into a third world shithole. I want to leave sooo bad but where would I go? I'm 59 but If I were younger I would leave. I think all things are possible when you are young and healthy. As someone with an unexpected chronic disease that showed up in my 40s I'm on immunosuppressants that are very costly. Thank God the gov't here covers them. With treatments every 6 weeks I have no freedom to leave. While that's taken care of, access to a family doctor or emergency care is horrible. Waiting a month for a doctors appt or having to spend 10 hours in emergency is not okay in a developed country.\n As a citizen you have Canada as a safety net, so its no big deal if you move and don't like it. I'm not sure where is safe in the world right now. A lot of people moved to Equador, and then boom the violence got out of control. Just my thoughts on things.

When I saw that this was posted by the Guardian my first thought was the article would be a narrative slanted heavily to the left. I'm glad to see that there was some accurate reporting, but also not surprised to see the usual left wing disingenuousness. For example it gives the impression that the Take Back Canada Reddit group was taken down because it was somehow racist, violent, etc., rather than the more likely explanation that Reddit, like most other big tech platforms no longer allows discussions that go against the political narrative. \n\nLet's not forget that The Guardian and those of their ilk are largely responsible for the mess Canada is in. They sold the Marxist narrative. They promote wokeism, and the idea that to have a contrary opinion on immigration is racist. Now they're trying to pretend they care. It's all BS.

My family came to Canada in the early 80s, invested over $200,000 for 3 businesses over 35 years, employing over 30 Canadians. That's what I thought immigration was, a contribution to Canada's growth in exchange for our citizenship. That Canada must gain something before I am allowed to live in this country. Apparently, that's no longer the case.

I went to Toronto Canada for a small vacation and thought I was in India with so many Indian people living there. It’s over crowded and the traffic is horrible.

In the Soviet Union Josef Stalin made it his policy to move populations around so that there were no national majorities anywhere. In this way he was able to suppress around 130 million for decades. And when the Soviet Union finally did collapse, it was in the areas with a national majority (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Azerbaidjan, Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kirgystan, Turkmenistan. It was no coincidence.\n\nCanada today is a dictatorship. There is no freedom of speech, no freedom of thought. Just look at what happened to the truck drivers during covid-19. Or look what is now happening to Jordan Peterson now. What is going on is unconstitutional, and it is the government who is behind it. The purpose of the migration is to change Canada into a minority state just as it happened in large parts of the Soviet Union. This is the only way that the dictatorship can stay in power - and it knows it.

Our university age children all hold US passports. None are planning on staying in Canada after graduation. One has already left for Europe. Why would any young Canadian with options elsewhere want to remain in Canada when mainstream political thought believes it sensible to flood the labor market each year with hundreds of thousands of people, the overwhelming majority coming from two countries.

Great assessment. My wife left Vancouver 22yrs ago. It was bad then and has only gotten worse. Sadly the residents would rather smoke a joint than vote for a conservative govt and attend a church. It is not only Canada! I was in Canada in 2006 back then the immigrants from China were the most arrogant and unfair merchants I had seen. I thought Canada had the ideal law to host more immigrants according to their needs. Obviously they failed just like all European countries! We have problems 1:1.

Right? Couldn't be the hyper-commodification of housing and development rights stoked under the neo-liberal systems of governance which ACTUALLY forms a shared commonality between these countries. I went to visit a friend in Canada last year and I thought I was in India.

I thought of moving to Canada too, but it felt really impractical. Canada is expensive, even to locals. This is what you get when you prioritize corporations over people, making the rich richer, and poor poorer. High rise condominiums bought by tax-evaders, and money launderers from all over the world, instead of livable communities. Happens almost everywhere in the world. I think everyone needs to live simpler, live in the province, or work from home, the cities are really getting unlivable nowadays, full of greedy corporations constantly fed by their cousins in the ranks.

1st thought - *STOP being an IL Literate* and learn the difference between Immigration & seeking asylum/refugee status. Even if Canada stops all immigration tomorrow - it is still obligated to accept asylum status.

Also a note on VISAS. Canadians dont need VISA's to fly to ALOT of countries. Were welcomed in far more countries than Americans. As such, we expect far less countries to have VISAs to get here in return. Ive travelled to Europe many times, no thought to getting a VISA. Hell, they barely look at my passport. White girl with a Canadian passport? Lol they just flop it open and stamp it and wave me thru. Also, were a member of the British Commonwealth, along with many other nations. As such, dont need a VISA. Holland and Canada are BFFs, you can have Dual Citizenship for both.
