American here - Doesn't it say something about our own government when so many of us are cheering in support of boycotts and tariffs imposed on us?

It’s most of the world, and sensible Americans who employ common sense and logic vs tRump and his neofascist agenda. In professional wrestling terms, the U.S. has turned “heel,” but the now occupant of the White House, who should’ve never returned, always has been one. I don’t understand his appeal, and why so many Americans have been sucked into his orbit.\nI don’t want this, many tRump voters don’t want this. This’ll adversely affect the world, and will do nothing to reduce the nearly $2 trillion deficit. tRump’s tax cuts for the wealthy, and fElon Musk’s austerity measures will, and already are raising unemployment, and will further increase the divide between the wealthiest and most marginalized among us.\nThe U.S. siding with Russia, the two countries having the biggest nuclear stockpiles, is a threat to the world.\nIf WW3 starts, it won’t be because Zelenskyy won’t act to end a war in which his country was unnecessarily invaded, it’ll be because of Russia’s invasion of it, and the U.S. turning its back on its now former allies.\nThose of us in the states who oppose tRump and his alliance with Putin need to continue to stand up, speak out, and perhaps even do more. We’ve never seen anything like this before. Hate to say it, but this could very well be the beginning of the end of what was once a great nation. Unfortunately, many Canadians don’t see the truth! The Canadian News Media support the Government and suppress the truth by backing the Government Propaganda and by twisting the truth into untruth! It’s a childish game being played by an entitled child who doesn’t care about the people he was supposed to be leading. I would imagine, that if their Conservative Party Leader Poilievre wins the upcoming election, he will be able to straighten out many of the troubles that have been caused by the World Economic Forum Puppets and their agenda. I doubt that the Canadian People are in favor of the agenda of having nothing and being happy. What foolishness the elites expect people to believe. I’m sure that our Government will be able to get it all ironed out when Canada gets a leader that really cares about their people and not about those fake Carbon Taxes. It’s very interesting to watch what’s going on up in Canada! Interesting but sad, because they don’t have the ability to impeach a bad, unethical leader…

We have been looking and still do look to Canada as a model quite a bit and love Canada and Canadians to pieces. We Michiganders especially in the central and eastern UP and Detroit and Ann Arbor area are friends, coworkers, and family of Canadians. Some are even dual citizens. Maybe he should discuss the constant duty fees and border crossing fees for anything shipped from Canada to the USA that have been constantly rising for years; fees that his very own government sets. Maybe he should talk about Canada demanding that anyone that sells anything foodwise to anyone in Canada from the USA has to have a special Safe Food For Canadians Food License or the goods being shipped will be rejected at the US owners cost, seized by the border and held in storage at the US owners cost, and destroyed and billed to the US owner. A license that no one actually needs considering other legal and ethical controls are in place to prevent unsafe foods from crossing the border, but Canada reserves the right to make us pay for one or we suffer consequences. Maybe he should discuss how they left their borders open to migrants, making it much easier for criminal migrants to get into the US. Maybe he should understand that the US has always been bleeding money to Canada on a trade level for about half a century with it getting much worse in the last decade because Canada's government are greedy. Before any of you come at me, keep in mind I work in the food ingredient industry as an order processing, logistics and customs & border crossing and have done so for 15 years. These tariffs were a long time coming and if any of you are on the inside of trade in the manner I am, then you know what I'm saying is true. The US is constantly paying additional tariffs by way of duty fees, customs fees, certain applied taxes (like there is literally a blueberry tax to ship US grown blueberries into Canada to prevent US blueberries from taking over the Canadian blueberry market). The blueberry tax is about 25cents per lb. which drives the price per lb. up for the seller and buyer. You wanna know why Food costs so much? All of the above with a huge side helping of GREED.

I hope you Canadians know that WE, the sane citizens of the United States, do NOT agree with what Trump has started. As an individual Japanese, I cannot stand the current US president and vice president. I demand an impeachment trial. In order to protect America and the American people, these two people who do not call Russia a dictatorship, call Ukraine a dictatorship, and refuse to use Russia's frozen assets should be impeached. They say such things to China, but in reality they are lenient, and it is impossible that they treat Canada and Mexico worse than China. Please. American people, please do not accept dictatorship.

Agree with Trudeau here, and as a Canadian conservative, that’s not something I say easily. But let’s get real here. Trump is NOT a smart guy. He has cratered most businesses he’s started, he has no understanding of economics whatsoever and he speaks like a five-year old. Conversely, here in Canada and around the world (including many in the US who are voicing heir support here) we have A LOT of smart people and an enormous amount of good will, and we will persevere and overcome. What % of phentonol does the US say comes in from Canada? Canada say 1%. Tariffs are unjustified if it’s that low. I think it’s kick the small boy so bigger boys like the EU are more flexible. Trump said EU VAT ‘tariff’ to USA. Does he not realise VAT is a purchase tax applied to all = internal products, and anything from all countries.

I believe that the ultimate wet dream of Trump is to have a bigger nation ie. performing hostile takeovers of neighboring countries and of strategic importance for him (Greenland, Canada, Panama Canal and others). For that to function, he has agreed with his best buddy Putin to allow him his share of the Europian countries. China will probable be on the same hostile takeover trip all over the pacific as well. I just watch mr trump speak with regards to tariff impose on canada mexico and china..he's proud in saying that a lot of foriegn companies will soon build factories and offices in the US. Providing billions of jobs and revenue. He said that if these companies would come to the United States where will be no tariff, lower taxes and easy life for the Americans. Reading as much as I could of the comments below, it is with great respect that we as human can still care for one another even when we are from different countries, continents, backgrounds an so one. Evil will always try to do it's thing and we must come together to abolish it. Being from different countries in this situation is not much we can do. Maybe stop importing from America, at least till this administration is gone in 4 years. The way it's going , America will lose a lot of it's allies and unless tyranny and dictatorship follows, we will vote the so called politicians out of office and claim our rights to a better way of life.
