I'm only halfway through but feel I need to comment and well I'm not exactly a new Canadian. But I was born the but grew up in New Zealand. And well why not . I moved over there in 2014 with full rights as a citizen. My trade wasn't recognised. Canada has its own rules about everything. You need to have training to pour drinks in a bar wtf.! But yea I came wanting a better life and well thankfully I wound up in Calgary so eventually I had the money to leave. And come home where know having seen the Canadian shit show I'm killing it here. It saddens me and yes I was that asshole that got trudeau on there cos I seen one rousing speech where he invoked his dad Pierre. And I fell for it. And not to lie I look old Canadian so I fit right in English is my first language and all that. And funnily enough it was the first time in my life where I could say fucking immigrants. It's a brutal place a brutal work climate and well there's a lot that's nice but when it's bad it's dog ear dog. I feel really sad about what's happening, all the mass illegal immigration and yet your a criminal for noticing it. A lot is very wrong, don't get me wrong nz is doing all the same shit too. I went to Canada for prosperity and to change my life lesson I learnt was go home ans do better and that's fucked.

I couldn't agree with you more. Asking Canadian experience is a scam to deter immigrants obtaining jobs and maintain status quo where immigrants get lower wage and blue color jobs. Therefore I would research to make sure to get in to the skill trades such as IT, Healthcare, Finance such as selling real estate etc,. MBA is a general qualification and chances of entering in to higer paying jobs with an MBA is limited, where as if you're already in a managerial occupation doing MBA will help to climb the ladder. As a born and raised Canadian I made the decision to flee my homeland of 42 years the moment that the current regime came to power in 2015. I ended a highly successful, well-paid 20+ year career, sold everything I owned and was gone within six months. I am not a religious person, so that did not factor into my decision, though I knew what was coming since I had lived for years as a member of a minority that was constantly demonized by former Liberal rulers for decades.\n\nI completely understand your reasons for leaving and wish you all the best. As an indian who suddenly grew curious about Canadian politics and society in recent times (thanks to JT and his credible allegations), it seems like canada is fast turning into a socialist/communist economy like Russia but without the strong control of the centre. Without a strong centre or a central figure handling things at the top in such an economy, Canadian policies regarding immigration, internal security, trade and economy etc are all in doldrums. Add to that, canada is harboring serious anti social elements within it's border who will strike back at canada itself if the things remains out of control. Being a homogenous society, I don't except canada to follow the fate of USSR, but definitely it is on the way to become the first world Syria.

I think your reading of the situation is slight from the wrong end of scope. \n\n1> the job of the Canadian gov is to look after Canadians. (Yes they allow immigrants but that is for the benefit of Canadians and not the other way around. \n\nThe house prices are intentionally kept high. The reason is because it makes existing citizens richer. (Year on year) these people vote and the gov would like their vote) . Creating huge supply of housing is going to crash the market and that will end up people feeling poor. (Values will drop : demand and supply) . The CCP was Party to these programs till Xi’s second term of rule and the huge budget deficits occurring due to the transference of Chinese domestic spending happening overseas especially in Canada and Australia caused the CCP to stop this growing deficit in household spending within the Chinese domestic economy. This is mostly the marginal explanation. What is actually causing the problems in Canada is PRECISELY the expectations of a high standard of living absolutely everyone has, including brand new immigrants. The more food you produce, the more people can consume it, and this in turn flows through the economy to enable all the other kinds of economic activity. We have to bring in hundreds of thousands of temporary foreign workers from Mexico just to be able to harvest. In the past, Canada allowed immigration from all over the world of people who were mostly poor, refugees, and those desperate for a new life. They worked all the time doing every kind of imaginable job in every kind of condition. They built this country with their perseverance and hard work. The immigrants today, are selected on a points-based system, and the idea behind this is that someone with two university degrees, or trained in a profession, even if they don't work in their field in Canada because they're all sorts of barriers to transferring your education, are not very likely to be criminals or antisocial types. In other words, Canada has chosen to attract high quality candidates on the assumption that they would be less likely to become criminals, while they in turn, having been picked from the best in their society, arrive in Canada with very high expectations, and discover that actually they're going to have to work in all sorts of other kinds of jobs and will probably not work in their field, even though that's what got them the points to come to the country. This is the brilliant system brought in by Stephen Harper's conservatives, which brings in people with high education, and allegedly high skills, especially high language skills, so the government doesn't have to pay for their language training, but it doesn't consider the fact that these are very often people with other choices, who are not willing to work in construction or farming or service or retail or all those kinds of things that we desperately need workers in. The reason why we can't build enough housing has nothing to do with local governments and property values. It has to do with lack of labor. This education system, for some unbeknowned reason, is absolutely terrible, and provides basically no skills, training or education for the vast majority of high school students such that when they graduate high school, their forced to go to university or college. Since they have absolutely no training. In most parts of the world you finish high school and you have a trade, or you have some skill to begin working, the kids here know nothing. Nothing. Other than emotional safety, intersectional language, and wokeism. On top of that, the government has brought in every kind of environmental restriction and regulation on account of incredibly loud, but actually small minority of enviro lunatics, who most of the time use these environmentalism as a cover precisely for protecting their high property values in very luxurious and special places around the country, and they oppose logging and all sorts of resource extraction under the guise of environmentalism. But it's actually to preserve their special privileged position often in some wilderness or island, where they might be the only one or a handful of families who got lucky to somehow own a property. Property and so they oppose everything on account of environmental reasons. But it's just to keep people out and preserve their own privileged place. This country also as most others suffers from the illness of dishonesty and lack of integrity brought about by a culture of marketers where nothing is the way it is said to be. Everything is a fine print. And we have gotten used to this as normal. We've gotten used to having credit cards, charges, 25% interest, we've gotten used to being ripped off constantly by all the corporations for everything, and nobody complains and they just borrow more and they just bottle it in and now it's finally coming out. Out. People are fed up of the enviral lunatics. They're fed up of people who complain and bitch one moment about the pipeline and then complain and bitch the next moment about the high cost of gasoline when the pipeline is temporarily shut down for servicing. The problem with Canada is Canadians.

As a Canadian, I looked into becoming an auto mechanic. Its going to take a year of school, tuition and then, in your first year, you'll make entry level wage and have to pay $3000 in tools. You might even need a truck to haul your tools around. They keep saying how they need tradespeople in Ontario, but the licensing/ apprentice process takes so long for people to transition into. Every trade is so complicated to get involved in. There is a situation where there are willing and capable people, but the admin process is too expensive and bars people who are in need of paying groceries, rent and bills. They can't find enough millrights either. Its the same problem.\n\nYou've got a surplus of willing and capable workers and employers seeking talent, but the admin process inhibits the entire process. \n\nIf I could start apprenticing on-the-job today as a mechanic or millright I would. But, I need to support family, so instead I am working readily available joe-jobs. \n\nAll trade positions will continue to be unfilled on job posting boards, while potential candidates will be busy working low pay jobs in warehouses etc. just trying to survive. Ontario is idiotic! Back in 2014 they introduced the Ontario College of Trades which only sought to take admin fees from every conceivable profession. The old bureaucratic established people in Ontario have a way of keeping everyone as peasants and minions. This is also why people are leaving for Alberta (a wise decision).

Immigration of anti-Canadian cultures and people with zero trade / craft is detrimental. We love our foreign doctors, nurses, and talented future Canadians. Immigration lottery does nothing to match people with needed industry sectors. The goal now is to import uteruses for the pyramid scheme economy, which isn't working.

The poll suggests Canadians are extremely propagandized because immigration is not negatively causing housing crisis. You know why? People do believe immigrants can contribute. Canadians are not opposed to immigrants but the pace of immigration, the housing shortage, lack of infrastructure, social services and our health care and the costs of all these services with high interest rates. How many immigrants are skilled trades people and willing to work in construction. What are the barriers to immigrants being employed in these sectors and is this being addressed.

In the time that it takes someone to go to school or learn a trade the economy will change and there will no longer be a demand. Nobody in the pre-apprentiship trades programs 5 years ago got jobs, and even now they probably won't take apprentices. They are outsourcing cheap labour so they don't have to train Canadians. The local Mcdonalds is under investigation because they would only hire Pilipino Temp workers.

There are a lot of people that come here with a promise of a better life and the notion is that it’s instant. I want to confirm to you that it’s better life, but it’s not instant. You have to put in the work and prove your worth. You have to gain Canadian experience to get a decent job. Also be ready to go back to school and upgrade your skills. There are jobs here zinaitwa Trades. These are the jobs that we don’t value at home but pay amazingly well here. Construction, Electricians, Plumbers, Mechanics, Carpentry, Welding, Hairdressers, Tailors.. Those are very valued skills here- if you can invest in learning these trades but pia ukikuja hapa you have to convert your certs to Canadian ones by doing an exam or going back to school . If you are into office jobs, make sure you have market relevant skills that align to this country. Be ready to embrace the digital revolution and mpende hesabu. Accounting is very much valued here. The secret is be ready to start from the bottom, be ready to upgrade yourself, be ready to work like you’ve never worked before… You will make it eventually .. Mungu mbele! \nI am confirming that we are going through a recession here and as per the market trends, it’s only going to get worser until we get to a point of stabilization. The housing market is crazy, food costs and gas (fuel)costs are off the roof .. it’s not easy. So if you have a good job in Kenya, hold onto it for now until things get better ( due diligence /research) .. Make sure you have the right visa that allows you to work here. Have you noticed most of these homless Africans are in Toronto. I have never heard news that they are stranded on the streets of Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Yellowknife etc etc. Why Toronto. People need to stop using agents and do some research before moving. Canadians moved away from Toronto during the pandemic they relocated to other smaller cities. Being Canadian I dont stay awake all night worrying if the village idiot has a gun and will shoot me .I can have a pain and go to a hospital without worrying if I can pay for it .I get 3 weeks vacation every year which I hear does;nt happen in the USA .My kids can enter their school without having to go through a metal detector .And I dont have to be told I live in the greatest country on the planet because I have lived in a few other countries and I wouldnt trade Canada for any of them .

I went to school and lived in the US for a year, and I enjoyed my time there, plus my dad lived in New Orleans and Houston at different points so I was in the States a lot growing up. The US is great in many ways and it's an exciting place to be at any time... but if it was a permanent choice, I don't think I would give up the Canadian citizenship in trade. Yes health care, and it is just a little less, for lack of a better word, paranoid.

Due to the massive amounts of wild fires in Canada, lumber is quickly becoming a scarce commodity. That is yet another blow against the Canadian economy. Canada should make it easier for immigrants to come over and live in Canada increasing the flow of money into the country. Also, Canada should lessen trades of food and other supplies from other countries that then take the profits out of Canada. In other words, Canada needs to rethink how it functions.

I am Canadian, I was born here in the 60's, I've travelled around the world, including the US but have always lived and worked in Canada. If you are in certain career fields say IT or Finance, or a lot of fields actually there are just more opportunities for you to make a higher earning in the US. And if you make enough money, a lot of nicer things (education, products, services) are available to you. This would make the trade off of health insurance, guns, politics safety tolerable. For the average Canadian there's probably not much incentive. And all the nice places in the US can be visited as a tourist since we're so close (most of us).

Canada is heavily control by US. All Canadian politicians are pro-US and kind of giving up expanding our trades with other countries. Don't think it would change. Canadian left the country and working in US would likely come back after retirement. As medical would be too expensive for them after retirement.

This is very surface-level analysis. If you want to dive into why Canada's economy is so uncompetitive you have to look at its constitutional framework. Inter-provincial trade is more difficult in Canada compared to Trade in the states or the EU because NAFTA, and the EU trade agreement are more efficient compared to inter-provincial trade frameworks the senate estimates these barriers cost the economy $150b in GDP per year. By comparison, Australia with a similar constitutional structure to Canada managed to harmonize many of its inter-state/ territory regulations leading to increased GDP growth and has long outperformed the Canadian economy. Furthermore, Canada's indigenous rights framework is far to restrictive in terms of allowing the governments to actually govern. This has cost us billions in FDI in projects tossed out by the courts and projects that will simply never be considered due to political and regulatory risks. \n\nThat said, if Canada wanted to improve this situation without meddling in the constitution one thing they can do is to allow housing to catch up to the population. We have the fewest number of dwelling per capita in the G7 in the highest population growth in the G7. This is a recipe for a housing shortage which ensures that a lot of capital will flow into the housing sector simply because it offers promising returns relative to the risk of operating a business. I believe Canada grew by over 1,000,000 residents in 2022 however we had 240,000 housing starts (4 residents per dwelling) and average house size here is 2.51 residents per dwelling. \n\nThat disconnect between housing starts (see regulatory framework above as to why we can't build enough houses) will just cause more capital to flow to the sectors making the business investment environment worse.

Canada is well represented around the world. But you don't really know someone until you live with them. This country basically shuts down for at least 4 months a year during the winter. Sure people still do stuff but any Canadian can agree that winter, compared to the other seasons is night and day. \n\nIt sells itself well in real estate especially with foreign investors but deep down nobody really wants to live here Jan-April. \n\nPersonally I moved to the states cause I'm in a field that presented better opportunities, better pay, better quality of life year round, cheaper life in general without huge taxes.\n\nThat's the trade off, either work more and not deal with winters or deal with winter and get some support for not working as much.

Why invest in a business when a literal doofus can just buy home and land and make many of my relatives made fortunes from “land trade”. \nReal estate and all its related jobs (agents, construction workers) is where a lot of Canadians work.\nAnd cooling the real estate market will affect a ton of those workers. \nAlthough a lot of this actually ignores one of the biggest issues. Our geography.\nSo much of Canada is cold and just an overall annoying place to live in that it’s simply less attractive for anyone to want to set up anything here.\nIt’s big, but a lot of useless land.

This is one of the few immigrants I have a compassion for. I see Jose is working in the construction field on top of a roof in the middle of the winter I have kids I don’t even wanna work and they have the ability to work there. Just lazy. I hope Jose gets to stay. He has a trade in construction as a carpenter, and we have a shortage of good carpenters in this country. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side. I live in El Salvador, but I've been thinking about moving somewhere in North America. The US is cool but, I don't want to run across all of the salvadorans who are already there LOL, I want something new. Also, I'd like to still live in, or at least not very far away, from the Americas. I'm too lazy to go to Europe, and have to learn the language there, sorry, I already speak Spanish and English well enough. Only Japan, or Brazil may change my mind, language wise (my Portuguese is enough so I could get by, and I'm also a Japanese music aficionado).\n\nOn the other hand, I love dressing very flamboyant, and, seeing how Canadians wear in the winter, with those huge sweaters and winter clothing, I wonder if it's the place for me ? (I know, that's a very ridiculous concern), also, I don't know if I'd get used to long winters. I've always said I don't like Salvadoran heat, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to trade that for Canadian winters.

I mean, isn't this clear cut in most countries? Illegal migrants should be sent back right away. To deter this, second time maybe 2 weeks in jail, then deport.\nI'm sorry but we spent about 7 years getting to be residents and then citizens. We had to go through interviews, in depth medical tests/hostory, financial and education or skilled trade scrutiny, so we are a net benefit to Canadian society. Some also spend tens of thousands, sometimes their life savings, on the fees and paperwork, which also takes years.\nRefugees from war, etc are different, but if you just feel like it's a better life and opportunity, there are official channels to apply to be a permanent resident.

Immigrated to Canada from Germany several years ago and I agree with everything you said. Especially the quality of houses. As a European I'm shocked about the way houses are built. Poor quality and very cheap materials. If you willing to spend a million dollar for a cardboard box, good luck but not for me.\nComing here with over 24 years of experience as builder I'm still astonished about the lack of education in many fields not just the trades. \nBut depending on where you settle down, Canadians are very friendly and helpful:)

Im proud to be a canadian. Canada by far to me is the best country in the world. Just turn on the tv. Watch the nrws. You will know why. Each and every province will have ots pros and cons. I would trade canada for any other place on earth.

The cost of living is so high that both parents need to work to live. It's hard to have kids when mom and dad are both working full time jobs, barely getting by and day care is also expensive. We need to incentivize kids to pursue trade jobs instead of dancing on tik tok. We also need to protect traditional Canadian identity. Immigration at that rate will rapidly change our demographics with people from cultures very different from Canada's. We will no longer have common holidays that all Canadians celebrate. Unity will be over. Will any mainstream politicians actually speak up about this?

Every Country government is funded financely by Corporates and Canadian education is not just education it have turned to Business, Students are been used as a material of trade money. I have lot to say but canadian government will not read my comment

True, lived there for 4 years. Canada is a well made lie to make someone else rich. I even met a rich immigrant who basically became rich because I'm sure he was doing money laundry. Also, Canadian politeness is a fake way to uncover how they actually don't care about another person; they are not nice people . Being there also made me think about this whole immigration system, it felt like a neo-slave trade, because immigration is such a gray area, and we basically have no rights to anything whatsoever, being open to be easily exploited. Not to mention psychological problems, like the Ulyssses Syndrome, that nobody talks about.
