This is just plain evil. America went in one generation from hopeful and peace loving nation to Putin's best friend. Sickening.\n\nWhat does Trump think his actions are going to do? Most of the world now hates him. Most of the world now hates Elon, and Tesla. He's a destroyer, not a builder.\n\nRepublican party and everyone working in right wing media, you happy now? Everyone thinks that this is Canada standing up, but what this means is that the Canadians with our economy that is 1/10 that of the US will be taxed at 25% on our imports, this is going to hurt canadians way more than the retaliatory terrifs will hurt the americans. This may also lead to an escalated response from the US exacerbating the effect. A Canadian here who can't agree with the disparaging comments about Trudeau. He has done more good than some earlier Prime Ministers. Enjoying the new free dental coverage he just established? I disagree with him here though when he says Canadians don't hold this tariff thing against Americans. WE DO! You're the ones who elected this wrecking ball who destroys everything (and everyone) he touches. I encourage all our Europeans friends to buy Canadian whenever possible.

Trudeau is extremely impressive in government actions and in communicating as simply as possible to the people of USA, to explain what is happening and to implore that they pressurise their rotten Trump government. This is an attack on a very friendly government with 25% tariffs on everything but just 10% on China?? This is an attack to try to destabilise Canada to help in taking the country over. It won't work and everyone will suffer or lose.

All the power is centralized in Quebec, with the Bloc not even a federal GD party but somehow allowed to be a federal party, and Ontario and Atlantic Canada just loving a false sense of moral and intellectual superiority, and don’t forget transfer payments. And we have got ourselves into this Liberal government purgatory (thank God the Federal NPD have been decimated over it…at least there is some justice), so that we write cheques to make us feel good and look good despite that we can’t afford it. I appreciate the approach from PM Trudeau and can feel his regret for having to do this. As americans we have to fight against our own leaders meanwhile their job description is to be in service of their constituents. How hard is it to make sure everyone has enough and no one too much or too little?
