I own a tourism business in the DC area. We receive thousands of Canadian tourists every year. What's our government thinking??? I can see Canadians stop coming to the US in support of their country

as an american, i’m so scared. please do not abandon us. we are living paycheck to paycheck— and that’s those of us with jobs. we’ve put our heart and souls into voting over the past 9 years and they haven’t counted in decades. \n\ncorporate entities are running our country— politicians are no longer working for the people. we need help.

I'm so embarrassed to be American. I'm angry at the millions who were dumb enough to vote even one time for a FOOLISH con man who's compromised by Russia and can't even read. I'm extremely proud of Canada and Trudeau. I hope somehow the president of the US and his echo chamber are removed from office. We'll never make it 4 years.

As soon as Trudeau or any other Canadian Liberal MP says, “Let me be crystal clear,” or refer to clarity, you can be sure that there is dishonesty happening! This guy has been working on Canada’s destruction for 9 years. He has given away Billions of taxpayers hard earned dollars to those of his choosing, as though it were his to give. He has been financially running Canada into the ground with the help of his financial advisor, Mark Carney. He has let The Canadian Armed Forces disintegrate for lack of funding, while choosing to refuse payment to NATO and those who help to defend Canada. He and his Government have been involved with billion dollar scandals and have become a major force of “Legalized Crime!” Now he wants to lay the blame for his poor leadership on the US. Unfortunately, many Canadians don’t see the truth! The Canadian News Media support the Government and suppress the truth by backing the Government Propaganda and by twisting the truth into untruth! It’s a childish game being played by an entitled child who doesn’t care about the people he was supposed to be leading. I would imagine, that if their Conservative Party Leader Poilievre wins the upcoming election, he will be able to straighten out many of the troubles that have been caused by the World Economic Forum Puppets and their agenda. I doubt that the Canadian People are in favor of the agenda of having nothing and being happy. What foolishness the elites expect people to believe. I’m sure that our Government will be able to get it all ironed out when Canada gets a leader that really cares about their people and not about those fake Carbon Taxes. It’s very interesting to watch what’s going on up in Canada! Interesting but sad, because they don’t have the ability to impeach a bad, unethical leader…

I was thinking to send my 8 years old niece to teach Trump how to do good trade. She does it so well (polite,respectful, considerate) to get treats (chocolates, food, etc.) from us.

As a Canadian - Trumps 'brilliance' has done one thing for sure, it's aligned all of the provinces against our neighbor and former ally the United States. It's done something we ourselves have had difficulty with - gaining support from Quebec. The overwhelming vast majority of Canadians don't trust the US anymore, as the legal justification for the tariffs is absolute bull, and is a pretext for Trumps actions. My family has cancelled all US travel, in my case 2 trips this year worth 15K to the US. I will miss Vegas for my 60th. We used to shop in WA State weekly; last year I spent 11K in WA State, and routinely took in shows in Seattle. No more. \n\nCan anyone please explain why Trump is screwing over Americans? Seriously.

What is wrong with the American people here disrespecting America by supporting a country who shows nothing but disrespect and contempt to the American people and out Representatives? What is wrong with President Trump wanting things to be fair. Canada has charged the US a 25% tariff for years and that's acceptable I think not. They deserve a 25% tariff from America. Why do some Americans think it's acceptable to give America's hardworking tax dollars away to countries who show nothing but disrespect to United States what is wrong with you guys? America doesn't need to be everybody else's piggy bank we have our own people our own states to take care of own states to take care of.

The conservative party had a 26% lead going into our election this year. That was 2 weeks ago. Today the Liberals have a 2% lead in the polls. Trump is moving us to the left and that's the only good thing so far from this administration.

I personally think Trump is after Canada to become part of the US. So, he's making stuff up to make the countries leadership look stupid. He thinks his tariffs will cause great financial destruction in such a way that Canada will fall apart, and then he will swoop in and grab her up. His greedy nubby hands want what he doesn't have. I can't wait for these four years to pass.

It's interesting he didn't mention anything about the 232 Canadian Tariffs to US Goods already in place for years on things such as Steel, Aluminum, and a slew of household goods and appliances. Weird.

37T in US debt. We’ve been unfairly treated the past 60 years from unfair trades from the world and Trump was the only President to say “enough”. What’s fair when US pays tariffs on goods but we can’t charge other countries. Let’s make trades fair. No more charities to the world paid for by US taxpayers.

Maybe he should discuss the constant duty fees and border crossing fees for anything shipped from Canada to the USA that have been constantly rising for years; fees that his very own government sets. Maybe he should talk about Canada demanding that anyone that sells anything foodwise to anyone in Canada from the USA has to have a special Safe Food For Canadians Food License or the goods being shipped will be rejected at the US owners cost, seized by the border and held in storage at the US owners cost, and destroyed and billed to the US owner. A license that no one actually needs considering other legal and ethical controls are in place to prevent unsafe foods from crossing the border, but Canada reserves the right to make us pay for one or we suffer consequences. Maybe he should discuss how they left their borders open to migrants, making it much easier for criminal migrants to get into the US. Maybe he should understand that the US has always been bleeding money to Canada on a trade level for about half a century with it getting much worse in the last decade because Canada's government are greedy. Before any of you come at me, keep in mind I work in the food ingredient industry as an order processing, logistics and customs & border crossing and have done so for 15 years. These tariffs were a long time coming and if any of you are on the inside of trade in the manner I am, then you know what I'm saying is true. The US is constantly paying additional tariffs by way of duty fees, customs fees, certain applied taxes (like there is literally a blueberry tax to ship US grown blueberries into Canada to prevent US blueberries from taking over the Canadian blueberry market). The blueberry tax is about 25cents per lb. which drives the price per lb. up for the seller and buyer. You wanna know why Food costs so much? All of the above with a huge side helping of GREED.

American here. Family moved to Canada ?? after American Revolutionary War (yep family was a royalist). Stayed in Oh Canada for over 100 years. As an American ?? (country I love) - I stand with Canada ?? even though it will cost me & other lower / middle classes $$$$. Not Canada’s fault. It is the fault of the orange ? man who is a pretender POTUS. Too little too late Trudeau! Why is Canada still short 2,000 border guards? Why are no railway containers still not checked? Why is still only 1% of shipping containers checked? Why did you leave the borders wide open for nine years, allowing illegal drugs and immigrants to cross over? How many more illegal drug labs are still running in Canada that we don't know about? How much fentanyl is crossing the border into the US from Canada that wasn't caught (only 1% was caught)?

He put the 25 tariffs because of Fentanyl and for the last four years Canda has allowed this drug to be trafficked and he allowed illegals to flow into our country for the last 4rs. \nRespect. Don't tell lie to people border was not safe look at the historic number in 2021, 2022, 2023 where people crossed border illegally from Canada that's only because of you Trudiot. you opened door for mass immigration like student, visitor and work permit. so, some people used those visas to enter Canada and crossed US border. Canada needs the United States more than we need the Canadians. They have a 200 billion trade deficit with the US and just about everything we get from Canada, we can produce right here in our country. Energy, lumber, produce etc.\nThere might be a little discomfort in the beginning but a year from now America will be better off.

Reading as much as I could of the comments below, it is with great respect that we as human can still care for one another even when we are from different countries, continents, backgrounds an so one. Evil will always try to do it's thing and we must come together to abolish it. Being from different countries in this situation is not much we can do. Maybe stop importing from America, at least till this administration is gone in 4 years. As an American, I stand 1 million percent with the Canadian people and their government. It's a bummer as our Toronto area Canadian extended family has cancelled their visits to see us. However, we're going to arrange to visit them and meet just over the border in Sarnia this year instead. Win for Canadian tourism loss for US and Michigan.

Canada doesnt cost the US money. The country that cost the US the most money is Israel. Israel costs the US taxpayers billions and billions of dollars every year. Israel murdered 100,000+ mostly women and children in Gaza with free US weapons.

@robertedward7023 It can but I think Trump is right on this one. Zelensky needs to realize that he won't get his land back that Russia took, and that negotiating is the only way to come to peace now. He's living in a fairytale world fighting an unwinnable war. I think the US is right to pull the plug on financial aid to try to pressure Zelensky to negotiate to end the war. Unfortunately, to end the war Ukraine will likely have to concede the land they lost. But the reality is Putin will never give that land back. But it's better than more people dying everyday. Zelensky has gotten all too comfortable relying on financial aid and as a result he hasn't been willing to try anything new (like negotiate) to get this war finished. If we keep sending him money, nothing will change. Now he has pressure to negotiate. the US and Canada can't keep sending money to Ukraine for the next 20 years while this war carries on.

What has Canada and European countries done to actually try and end the death and destruction from this war? Europe buys energy from Russia, and Canada is only giving 650 million dollars in weapons over three years, while America has supplied hundreds of billions of dollars in aid and military equipment. Zelensky goes around the world dressed in a military outfit with no desire to stop the slaughter of humans on both sides. There have been thousands of wars where, eventually, one side has to accept the reality that they can not win, Zelensky is unwilling to see this. President Trump was elected because we want his AMERICA FIRST AGENDA, and with us saddled with 36 TRILLION dollars of debt, this war needs to stop.

Now he turns around and becomes a Canadian patriot for 9 1/2 years he’s beaten us with everything he could.
