I was born and raised in Canada. My family immigrated in the 70s. Growing up I was proud to be Canadian but after living in other parts of the world I can tell you, Canada isn't it! \n\nFirstly our Prime Minister is a puppet he works for the Commonwealth and whatever they say goes, they profit off all of your hard work. \nThey keep you sick so you rely on the health care system. Medicate you instead of solving the problem. Doctors are exhausted, rude and over worked, emergency rooms are a disaster and if you book an appointment to see your doctor...be sure you're waiting at least a week. If you go to a walk in clinic you risk getting a doctor that seems like they paid for a fake degree.\n\nYou know when you go to a mall in one town and then hear about a mall in another town that has really cool different things??? Ya, not here! Everything is monopolized! Same stores everywhere you go. there's a mall in Toronto called Vaughn Mills mall, when I was in Calgary they have an exact replica just a different name. Small businesses are hard to keep because everything is so expensive. There needs to be more indoor things for people to do in the winter. \n\nWhoever said Canadians are polite, has never been to Alberta!!!! I've never experienced racism in my life like I did out west, not just Alberta but also Northwest Territories and Manitoba. \n\nOn top of that they want everyone to be gay and not believe in God, they push the agenda so hard in the schools, they institutionalize and confuse your kids. If you believe anything different they literally hate you. The children are hypersexualized...teenage girls looking like they're 30 year old drag queens. They bully kids so badly in school, especially boys. Parents have no time to get involved because they're busying working multiple jobs to pay for their 4000 dollar mortgage, husband and wife barely see each other. And because they're not involved the children have no respect for their elders or teachers. the teachers don't care to get involved like they used to because everything's a liability...a problem. We had a 13 year old girl call a male teacher a pedophile for pushing a little girl on the swing. He quit on the spot, because now he's worried for his career. Kids have no shame anymore. \n\nIF YOU WANT QUALITY OVER QUANTITY (WHICH YOU MIGHT NEVER GET), DON'T COME HERE! or, Come here and send all your money home but don't educate your kids here unless you have enough money to put them in private schools and there are good private schools. If the only thing you want out of your life is freedom, freedom to just be left alone and no one hounding you...you like being alone. Then, that you can have here. \n\nIf you are from a colonized country we are all slaves to the system!

Interesting points. I have friends that have moved out to Canada and they now complain about it for different reasons some of witch what you've mentioned as drawbacks for Australia. Property in Canada is expensive, people work longer hours for less money and the cold weather most of the year (not to mention black ice in winter). Some people have also mentioned facing racism in Canada. Also cities over there are boring/not much to do (that's what I've been told). The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Also, you seem to have lived in one of the most boring and isolated cities in Australia. There's a reason why Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane are more populated than Perth and make the most liveable cities top list every year.

I'm a first generation immigrant and I'm disgusted by this video. Here they are, people who obviously came to this country as students, got their education here and now complain about healthcare, not being able to make enough money, segregation and their boredom. If not the sense of undeserved entitlement, then what's it? Do not listen to these immature, if not to say childish bloggers. Canada is the best, friendliest and warmest (even though our winters may be cold) place for new comers, who are willing to work hard for their future.

Honest review. I lived in ontario, better say Toronto. Car insurance, rent, work life balance. The good thing is the vibe and some basic things you don't fight alot to attain, the place is vividly. Their economic policies suppress growth people struggle to beyong and you must be equipped with many relevant skills apart from degree. What gives you money in Canada is your own business, risk jobs, most importantly your money source is coming from somewhere and you just invest there in houses, etc. \nThe country is nice and alot of events in the summer, but when the winter comes is really tough and you feel limited if you don't drive, if don't know places to socialise. The minimum wage is very low until this day. In reality everyone has an individual journey, and every experience may be completely different dispite any barriers they may achieve and make their dream come true, but still it will be a very small number.

You had to do a lot of work to come here. You clearly did not do your research. You do seem to not want to actually work hard. Everyone has their own opinions, thoughts and preferences. I did not listen to the entire video but sharing my story.\n\nI came to Toronto Canada it's been 22 years and I will leave here and die here despite its expensive to live but people stay where they belong, where their soul is at peace and where there is their happiness.\n\nI moved here with my abusive husband at that time. Back home as divorce was taboo, I would have remained married n suffer. He moved on and left me and my child of 5 years old on the street but thanks to Canada, no one judged me, no one talked about me. I did not ask or took any help cause I worked 2 jobs for few years to make ends meet. With time things got better, now my child has graduated and working.\nHe worked n paid for his studies.\nI have not been discriminated or faced racism despite I come from African continent and of colour but my son has as he was young but he learnt from it.\nCanada gave me my freedom, my peace, my happiness and I am no longer discrimated by my own religion, culture and people who thinks if you are lighter you are prettier.\nWomen were and are still considered secondary compared to men.\nHere we are equal.\nHere they love and respect me for who I am and not based on looks.\nBack home my c-section was f up and I am still paying the consequences. After an accident, I had to go through a leg surgery. Back home hospital lost my file and made me wait for years.\nHere I was handled with love and care when the hospital staff learnt that I have no family here. They stayed with me and watched on me after my surgery.\nI love Canada and my Canadian friends and all adopted families.\nThis is the best decision in my entire life that's why when I die I will donate all my organs and help others.\nI am allowed to keep dual citizenship but I don't care about back home.\nI am Canadian, I have a good job cause I worked for it, I speak 5 languages including French. I work for the govt and we have a balanced life.\n\nHappiness is within us, you just have to find where your heart belongs, mine is Canada. \nMerci a Canada ??

As an African, I have live in many country and saw the cost of leaving, I can tell you that life is harder in every country if you don't put the work. Nothing is easy. you have to wake up, smell the coffee and work your ass off. Be mindfull to thinks and invest your money or saving cause we never get younger. start planing your retirement when you get your first job cause life is unpredictable. You can get a better life while you ae younger in your carrier. With old age people don't get the same energy as when they were younger. Some old people regretts why they never invested for retirement. The beauty of life is given to everyone who deare to make it beautiful. enjoy.

I can definitely relate to all of these living in Canada my whole life and working.\n\nCar accident - was recommend by the insurance to visit the emergency room. waited for over 5 hours, 1:30 in the morning I just walked out I had to work the next day.\nWork - construction designer, basically working regularly 6 to 7 days a week about 10 hours a day behind the a computer. Doing my own work & managing our other designers, and it's not slowing down.\nPay - only making like 25 dollars an hour. and I don't just design, I also help manage the construction, list the projects (welding fabrication), order the materials, as wells as doing a lot of paper work. \nBills - I'm living in the cheapest place in the entire city with my fian and sharing a car at the moment, so not to bad. But obviously if we want to buy a house or a condo I'd be looking at well over 2000 dollars a month split between our two incomes.\nGas - prices are high, carbon taxing.\nHomeless people everywhere you look, can't really blame them TBH.\nShootings and police raids right out side my apartment, literally drove through a crime scene one morning. Yet I'm not allow to own a gun for self defense.\nThree months of summer, winter storms, but I love skating and snow boarding so that's ok with me.\nWeed's legal but along with alcohol, both heavily taxed.

I have lived in Toronto most of my life and have noticed a really drastic change in the last 3 years. Crime has gone way up so has homelessness and drug abuse. Rent and house prices are sky high making it impossible to survive for a lot of people. If your starting from nothing it’s a lot harder to make something of yourself without help . Our rights and freedoms are being taken away right in front of our eyes. I plan on working a few more years and hopefully making enough investments that I’ll be able to live somewhere cheaper and hot all year round.

So Canada is expensive, boring, cold, and (shock horror) not exclusively populated by Nigerian immigrants? You could have found out about the cost of living, weather and demographics online before you went. As for being boring, outside of work you have total control over how bored you are. I’ve lived in six countries, a mix of big cities and small towns and have never been bored because the old tropes are true; only boring people get bored and you make your own fun. Glad you’re back in the paradise that is Nigeria. Why would anyone want to leave there?

I'm listening to hear how Canada is not a desirable place to live, bc I have thought it would be a better alternative to the USA. But it still sounds better than life in the USA, if even just slightly. ?\nSo far, I hear 30% taxes on income (which is same in the USA).\nYou have free healthcare, however you have to wait in emergency room for 8 hours.....we DON'T have free healthcare....and guess what? $450+ later, we have still waited 4-10 hours in the ER. \nHere in the USA, our cost of living is insanely high compared to a single and even a double income. Our lowest rent is $1,200 to live in low income surroundings. A rent around $1,800/month will bring you to nicer surroundings in an apartment, but still surrounding areas have crime. \nFood costs are so high, Gas is so high. We haven't bought new clothes for ourselves in YEARS, only for our kids. \nDaycare is $485-500 month per child, even before and after school care. \nHealth insurance averages $145/per person per month, not to mention car insurance which is required to drive. \nSegregation has improved here but is ever being integrated back into our society as racism is kept very alive, even as they constantly teach it in the schools. They say it's to teach history but I believe it is just reinforcing racist ways and thinking patterns. \nI don't blame anyone for wanting to return to the comfort of their own people, language and living and country. \nYou may have us with the cold/hot weather in Canada! \nI didn't know about the Canadian passport being so opportunistic for travelling. That's cool ? \nAs far as desired profession, there are many doctors and teachers that come here to the USA from other countries and are now working as a clerk in the dollar stores here in the US. \nAnd forget work life balance here too. Cost of living here causes so much disruption in our family life. Debt is revolving.\nMy fiance's mother comes from a country in West Africa. She longs to return. She calls the USA a place you come to be a work rat. \nBesides free healthcare, it sounds like USA and Canada are similar. \nOne thing I've heard about Canada is that the government cares about kindness, as well as the banks. I hear that people are generally more courteous in Canada than they are here in the US.

wow you 2 ungrateful are complaining about 30 to 40% taxes, well why do you think third world countries are at at point they are? people are poor because they lack economic opportunities, good schools, teachers, new way of teaching the kids that they haven't even heard in the countries you were born in, the overall lack of corruption, when anytime you have to deal with any kind of public official for any kind of permit that might need, well build infrastructures, good public Universities, and a decent healthcare system, an independent well functioning judiciary system that is far less corrupted than the countries you were born at............ You 2 are delusional, in the south of USA they don't tax that much, you should see how the Blacks are treated, 2 months that the city of Jackson in Mississippi has no running water, I recommend you 2 to move there, and enjoy the low taxes.... BY the way look as well at the mortality rates for all the Child births in the south, and life expectancy rates.... And trust me I am an immigrant myself, so I know that people are not working as much as here in North America, but or you inherited your house from a family member or you are living in their homes, in that case yes you can sit and do nothing, and if you find a job you will get paid a few hundred dollars per month........ Try to put food on the table with that salary, even in lower cost countries... trust me they struggle 3 times as I do here in North America...

Now, here’s my points: You are young and you have dreams and ambitions, which I see fine BUT be careful what you are wishing for, you may get it!!! It’s great to be in a country that cares about their citizens health and well-being!!! Also, these tax costs help to destroy the Poor-Family-Status!!! Meaning, nobody goes to starvation because government got your back. I think it’s a great place for working class family that want to live a normal live and not worries on how they will end up when they grow old. Come to USA and you will see how the medical field works, it is difficult!!! Your tax money goes into things you don’t even want to know sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, I love USA but it is not for everyone, same thing as Canada, not for everyone either. Canada is the northern section, it is cold!!! Not air pollution, beautiful!!!! You people should pray for the U.S ooo. The current administration which is the democratic evil administration are working too hard to make the country a socialist country and pretty much destroy the country. If they’re successful, U.S won’t be a big deal in the world anymore

100% I was born here and lived in the US growing up. And its alot to give up for a better healthcare system. The healthcare system is honestly so good by comparison that I'd say this keeps Canadians here. But it is not far or equitable in any way. And with the pandemic it has accelerated this inflation people have felt... but are now fully aware of that impact our lives in meaningful ways every 5 years. We are now like ten years or more in the future on what that impact looks like.\n\nI don't want to work because there is no point. I am working but I don't care like I used to. I don't care about advancement anymore. I don't care about what it might mean for my future in the workforce when there is always a reason to ensure thst my money goes nowhere for me.\n\nThis winter is going to be very hard.

The work life balance is awful . I an now 43 years old and I spent so many weekends in my 20s and 30s working to get ahead and now that my youth has passed me by I wish I had more of my youthful weekends to myself.. now I am in a position where I don't have go work on weekends near as much but find myself with nothing to do on weekends and at 43 the time for partying and the down town bar \n scene has passed my be and most people my age ar not into that anymore and truth be told it's not all the appealing to me anymore either and I live in a city where partying and the down town bar science is the only thing there is here. It's very much an east coast port city/college town \nPost colonia city it's great for tourists College Students and young working people but once you pass the age of 35 it gets really boring when I was younger and wanted to spend all of my free time partying and going to house parties and hitting the bar scene I thought I lived in the greatest place on earth now that I am on my 40s I am bored stiff and other then going out for my daily walks for exercise when I am not working I spend most of time at home reading watching you tube or listening to my record collection all of which I really enjoy but I do miss my Youthfull socializing but 43 years don't belong in night clubs with people half their age and nor would it feel appropriate doing so . I miss being 25 and at the club and wish I had done more it instead of spending so many Friday and Saturday nights at the ship building factory.

I wish more people thought like you and moved out! This is a developed country if you invest properly and work hard it's the best place to live in the world! If you are a lazy welfare QUEEN than yes, you will find it very difficult. The standards have been lowered WAY to much by emigrates that can't keep up, they bring down the standard of living and destabilize things like HEALTH CARE cuz they don't know what the hell that are doing but we are FORCED to hire them! Yes the racism is very high here. \nMany people come here for a better life but that is very hard to find now days in Canada. Governments here, on every level have let Canadians down . They stopped investing in affordable housing. They haven’t provide enough placement for education of medical staff over decades and now we don’t have enough nurses and doctors. \nWe need better educated voters but of course they don’t put enough money into education. It’s seems people prefer voting for bullies rather than people who actually care about the people and the land that feeds us. Jagmeet Singh is s good leader but would Canadians vote in a person of colour with an agenda to actual help the people and the environment, probably not. It really is sad because Canada did provide a lot more for people in the past. But it’s always been a racist country unfortunately, just look at its history. \nI love this country and I see the politicians saying oh free healthcare doesn’t work while behind the scenes they are the ones not providing the training of medical professionals. They line the pockets of corporations Like the fossil fuel industry. Those are our resources. Taxes paid is our money. Most of these reasons are the same in each country. Been living in 4 countries and I can tell you that it's the same almost everywhere. Also, taxes are not that high in Canada. I live in a country now that has almost 50% taxes. And I'm just in the middle class. I've seen few of those videos now and I have a feeling that people complaining about Canada are the people that haven't lived anywhere else. US is the worst possible place to live. No work-life balance, toxic work culture, no holidays, no vacation, no healthcare, working people being homeless, violence, racism, wokeness, gun violence. These are just a tip of the icberg why US is the worst place to move to.

I'm a blk American born and raised and l have serious interest in moving to Canada. Since my people are from the US this is all l know so Im acclimated to the racial climate of the states. A lot of your cons are the same issues many face in the states. Taxes are crazy cost of living is insane wages are stagnant and you basically live to work. I live in Minnesota which is not far from the Canadian border but originally from New Jersey so I'm used to the cold. The health care system is sh*t here. Noone really has money to pay privately that's why our care is funded by employers. At the current moment there is also a shortage of medical professionals so often times you still have to wait months for appointments but you know what l would rather wait and have my taxes pay for my doctor then go into medical debt. My biggest issue with America is you pay all these taxes and reap nothing at least in Canada you can kinda see where the money is going.

I agree with almost everything these lovely ladies say as a person of caribbean decent. The health care system is greatly exaggerated and the overall system is such that the harder you work, the more they take from you. There are no incentives for existing businesses or prospective startups with great ideas ? to implement their plan. They rather move to the states. The boring part I don’t 100 percent agree because I think that that is relative. As people from different places and cultures all over the world, what might be exciting for one group would not be for another and vice versa. So I think that we need to create our own excitement and fun. And this depends on social connections sometimes. All in all, I loved what you 2 lovely ladies shared ????

I agree with most of your points, but as a person who immigrated to Canada 23 years ago, I am still happy that i did it, grateful for the opportunities that Canada offered to me, even though i had to work hard for everything. Few points i want to make for those who consider immigrating:\n1. Uprooting yourself from your country, and starting from the bottom in a foreign country is difficult, and not for everyone. Sometimes, when immigrants go back to visit their home countries, they try to present themselves as successful, and tend to exaggerate the positives. Having realistic expectations is crucial, do a thorough research beforehand, prepare yourself, and you will have better chances to succeed.\n2. I also lived in US for almost 2 years: US is better if you want to do business, or if you are highly specialized (IT, healthcare, etc.), but i wouldn't raise children there, even more so if i were a visible minority. \n3. If you are on top of your career at home, think twice before immigrating, unless you find a suitable position before arrival. If you are in a priviledged position, you have connections, doors are opened easily for you, you might find it difficult to adjust without these things. Many people leave their country because of corruption, they will find that they have more opportunities in Canada. \n4. There are some significant differences between provinces in Canada: Quebec offers low university tuition, Alberta offers the best ratio between average income and average housing costs. (You can buy a new house in Edmonton with about 300k) \n5. Canada might not be for those who want to become milionaires in few years, or for those who want a night life like Las Vegas or Ibiza... but if you are a young couple, motivated and hardworking, who want to raise children in a decent environment, to be able to send them to school without fear, Canada might be a good place.

You guys were spot on with this video. I am Canadian born from Caribbean immigrants and all we've done from jump is work multiple jobs. If you live in Toronto you can't just have one job; even lawyers and engineers have side hustles. My uber drivers are usually tech engineers! Most people usually immigrate to the US after getting their visa because the pay is so much more and the cost of living is lower. An example some jobs I'm looking at in Canada pay $50-$60k base demanding 5 yrs experience with 2-3 wks vacation. In the US the same job pays $75-100k base, unlimited vacation, work from home 2-3 yrs experience! I now live here part time and most of my wealthy friends have moved to the US, Costa Rica or Mexico because the cost of living is too high and it's no longer worth it. No life balance, even working remote you're a slave, the cost of living is outrageous

UK is the same. Nowadays u call for an ambiance and u have to take a Uber, because they don't have enough staff... there is Private health care, but only the very wealthy can afford it. U will find people from rich oversees countries like Saudi Arabians who come here.... NHS staff grossly overworked and underpaid. Just work to pay bills

Immigration to a new country is hard. It sounds like it has failed for you so you are right to try somewhere else. My parents put in the hard work and effort to have our family succeed in Canada for their children's sake. I do not remember boredom being a problem for us kids but then we loved the freedom of the outdoors even in winter. We did not rely on other people to entertain us. MY parents had to be very flexible and give up a lot of their old country ways. They did that work and we have all prospered.

Hi ladies. These are exactly the same situation here in the UK. I have been living in London since 1986 and surviving over here especially for those just arriving can be so frustrating. I often wonder why so many of our people are still struggling to come and live in these countries. I know you speak about the USA being better however I have a numbers of family and friends living in America and they are complaining about how hard you have to work in order to make ends meet. The answer to that could be the fact that many immigrants especially from Africa don't feel safe in their own home countries and bad leaders who continually fail to provide any opportunities for their youths and citizens. Thanks for sharing this vital information as many people think these western countries are paradise until they arrive and face the bare realities.

Canada is a playground for the rich people of the world. If you're a migrant worker. The government has jobs and plan that pay just enough to keep supply of cheap labour circulate in Canada . If you don't want to work , there's new people who'd come for it. The goal of Canadian immigration is to supply blue collar workers who'd come and work for pennies and not take Canadian white collar jobs.

I work in a restaurant in Texas and Indians are the rudest people I have ever dealt with. Period.

Successful people don't just become that way overnight. What most people see at a glance wealth, a great career, purpose is the result of hard work and hustle over time. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life

The middle class is downtrodden by taxes and working so hard that you can’t enjoy your your friends and family because you are too tired. People are depresssed. It’s freakin cold in the winter. It’s getting worse for middle class families.

This video for privileged people, not people struggling to survive. In a country like Nigeria, a PhD holder is applying for trucking driving job and secondary teaching job. They would be grateful to move to Canada for a befitting job and will be excited to pay tax. Many with good educational background don't even have any job at all. At least Canadian government takes taxes and provide good infrastructure. In Nigeria, the government takes your tax and nothing works, no jobs, no security, no healthcare, no good roads or infrastructure. It's difficult to travel inter state without being kidnapped. Your family sells all your properties and pay the ransom but still be killed. You can even be gunned down in your house or on the street just for next to nothing. All my relatives in Canada are happy with their families and are begging me to come. Even people with good jobs are moving to Canada. They're not doing it for themselves for the future of their children, for peace of mind, security and to escape poverty. \n\nIf you're in doubt please move back to Nigeria then you will know Canada is heaven. Many have resorted to prostitution and crime because they believe they don't have any other way to survive. I want to come to Canada not to get rich but to get a decent job and live a meaningful life with my family. I will be more than grateful to contribute to the progress of Canada even beyond paying my taxes.

I have lived my life here (I’m a senior) - it is difficult for most people that are here to get started in the working world and the fewer connections you have and wealth your family has, the tougher it is - so people coming from elsewhere it would be really tough! Very few connections and very unlikely you have family wealth to lean on. With the weather here you can just ‘bum’ around…if you live in a tent while you are figuring things out or you’ll freeze to death! Like when my grandparents came from Ireland and Scotland, it took them working very hard their whole lives to get a foothold, then things were better for their kids.

same in USA except no minimum paid vacation maybe 5 days to 2 weeks max and for some companies none at all..if tou take a vacation you dont get paid...aside from the weather, better tax treatment in certain US states(I live in Florida) and people are friendlier in the US..healthcare is mafia run very unaffordable so you must have insurance and even then its very expensive...every system has its weaknesses..ideally work in US get paid in US dollars and spend summer and autumn in Canada...then theres double taxation so you want to make sure you are in a position where you make you money in the States so you dont get taxed from Canada as well

The truth is that if Nigeria doesn’t get better, even the few that said they will return back home will never return. Cos if you plan to come back in your old age, have you forgotten that old age is a time when you desperately need good health care to ensure you live a healthy life? who will provide that good health care if you are in Nigeria? I would like to laugh 7 minutes in to the video. U.S. current political and education system is attempting to push more tax to be Canada. Our Universities keep talking about Trickke Down Economics as a negative to their students. Trickle Down economics worked. Most societies unless you live in the bush will continue to be unequal because some people take advantage of opportunity while others stay where they are at in life. Who’s problem is that?
