We just drove across Canada in July, and agree with your assessment of Quebec, and most of the other provinces. Manitoba and Ontario were in a shockingly run down state, and Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Quebec were our top three. BC is beautiful, but you cannot ignore all the corruption and the hyper-inflated RE market making a mess of everything. We're from BC, and love the place, but it is too difficult to survive there. My wife moved here 25 years ago luckily she is a European trained musician, all her credentials were recognized and she is still teaching music here in Alberta. \nAt first she was very homesick understandably but.luckily we were able to move her aging parents here 16 years ago. They got treated like royalty by the Canadian Government compared to my Canadian born parents showered with benefits even though they never worked in Canada one day. I know this is no.longer the case for new.immigrants but on the whole Canada has one of the most generous immigration policies on the planet.\nI feel for new.immigrants it's a very rough transition to make but after 200 plus years in Canada I thank my ancestors for taking a huge risk in coming here every day.

Just fyi, Ontario is the biggest province in terms of population size and not Quebec, and by far. However, Montreal (Quebec biggest city) is indeed one of the best city in Canada because of it's different cultural/shows events that are happening almost all year long, and it's very diverse as well. Also, in the western part of Montreal it wouldn't be a problem for a unilingual anglophone to live there because everyone is bilingual or unilingual English. Quebec city is also the oldest city in North America, a very nice place to visit and only 250 km from Montreal. If one is working in the financial sector however Toronto remains the real option in my opinion, but his way more expensive and so, so boring compared to Montreal.

Great video, balanced opinions! One more reason immigrants leave after many years in Canada is not enough savings / years of work for retirement. In their home countries their pensions and savings last much longer. That being said, Canada is a great country to live in.
