Canada for the most part (with the exception of Quebec) is not a country. It's an overrated economic zone with no identity or culture, sitting in an uninhabitable cold terrain, that people from around the world migrate to only because their current situation is at the bottom of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. It's only way to survive is to keep attracting economically productive immigrants from everywhere. This survival drives its extreme political correctness and lack of any identity. I have friends that live in Ontario. A great place if you are Type A and super outgoing. A great self promoter brimming with confidence. Otherwise you may be happier in the Maritimes or Western Provinces. Ontario is not terribly happy with those people who do not measure up to the Ontario brand of success. It can be a miserable place for new Canadians who may eventually realize that they can happily live in other parts of Canada.

I'm not 100% regretful living in Canada. I managed to get a full time job even without going to College or University. The more money you make, the more taxes you are going to pay. You have many opportunities if you are not lazy. Prayers work all the time. Just enjoy what you have and not be so materialistic, you will survive if you have faith in yourself. Spend less and save for rainy days.

Being Belgian myself and having worked in africa for a few years, I was surprised to see how happier people in those countries were compared to us Europe or North Americans!!! In spite of living in poorer countries, they have much less issues with loneliness, suicide and depression!!! Also, Africans tend to be much less indebted than North Americans as their banks do not have this stupid credit score system that out too much pressure on people!!! I live in Waterville Quebec, I have visited from one end to the other and I still prefer Quebec. I loved visiting every province & as a Carnival worker I got to know a lot of people. Canada is One big family.

We tried to move to Ottawa but we couldn’t leave Quebec. It’s our home and we got homesick fast. Montreal is a fun city and the restaurants are the best. Sure the taxes are high but we have great affordable daycare systems, great restaurants and overall great homes. All of Canada is great my heart will always be in Quebec
