Boss, i stay in India and life here too is now as complicated as it is in the West, if not more! In today's urban India most of them don't know who their neighbours are/ don't interact with them for years together. Even amongst the neighbours, they keep in touch with each other via mobile phone (predominantly WhatsApp). Children avoid staying with parents and relatives at ALL costs to an extent where they even leave their natives/ immigrate abroad to achieve the objective. Work pressures at the Indian private sector is probably the highest in the world where most employees don't even have time to breathe let alone interact! Btw for those who argue that the Western society is highly depressed and immoral blah blah blah, lemme give you a reality check- India is almost about to become the dubious capital of depression of the world, divorces in Indian society is SO high that it's way too common now to see people who've been divorced/ married second or third time, people fighting marital disputes in courts for years and years and in most cases paying off the girls family hefty and mouth watering out of court settlements to achieve peace of mind......the list is endless......so where does an ordinary 21st century Indian achieve peace of mind and a peaceful life with a quality lifestyle to boot? It's obviously the Americas and Europe (mostly). It may seem ironic to some old timers, but it's the harsh realities of the world today.

There are tonnes of videos being made and already available online regarding how tough life is in the west and how depressing it is there, how weird it is there blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.....my simple questions are:\n --- how come to this day 95% of folks who leave India for abroad shores NEVER come back???\n--- how come people are standing in endless queues for getting passports, work visas and Permanent Residencies in foreign shores???\n--- what prevents Indians to come back to India and live after making tonnes of money aboard \n--- if staying in such countries is indeed SO depressing, how come immigration is only increasing every year on year (inspite of covid)???\nCan anybody provide me with the answers rooted in reality please???

It's winter they don't come out. Fall/summer/spring they come outside. I know i see people during that time. I like meeting neighbors and I am friendly.

Hello and thank you for sharing your experience living here in the United States. I was born and raised here. It looks to me as if you live in a north eastern state. I do too, Michigan. And to be fair it can be very boring living here in the winter unless you like being outside in the cold. If you do there are so many fun things to do like skiing, sledding, snow shoeing skating ect.. But in the summer months everyone has fun and socializes where I live in my town. We have a lot of kids . 4 parks all different to enjoy. We have 4 or 5 lakes to enjoy and a large river that runs through our town. People are always walking, running, riding bikes and playing sports all around here everyday all summer. There are also many different clubs and groups you can join with people of like interests all year round. I would say if you are the type who likes a lot of interaction then get out and look around. Not everyone is sitting in the house all day. Also maybe try another neighborhood or state if your not happy where you are. Also if you feel disconnected from your neighbor's then may I suggest having a BBQ and inviting everyone to come and bring a dish to pass to get to know everyone. We have one in our neighborhood every summer and it started with one new neighbor who moved in and wanted to get know everyone. I hope you will receive my suggestions in love as I feel sad that you feel so lonely here and I hope it gets better. You could be the one to change everything for your neighborhood. ?

I am 85 years old and lived half my working life in Mumbai and another half in Virginia. Please DO NOT get confused with this video. Life in India and particularly in Mumbai has become extremely stressful and tiring with ONLY Negative vibrations. 24/7 is noisy, crowded, filthy, garbage all over the place, most of the neighbors are crook, no playground for children, no place for elders to relax, zero social life because everyone is running after the western lifestyle. I moved to the U.S. back in 1992 and after 25 years of living there (i lived most of the time in the Chicago area), i decided to move to a small town in Greece in 2017.\n\nThe general income and standard of living are much lower here, but people here know how to live their lives . Back in Chicago I was just working like crazy from Monday to Friday and on the weekends I was just recharging my batteries for the next week.\n\nIn Greece i lost all my depression, stress and anxiety and feel like a reborn man ;)

I live in the UK and its the same here... everyone does their own thing... I probably walk past my neighbours in the street without knowing them... I'm not someone who needs people around all the time, so it's OK up to a point, but I'd rather my life not revolve around work just to live! I much rather work from home by myself anyway! There is more to life, I'd like to have more time to meet friends, go to church etc, however things have changed do much over the last 2 years...I know many here who are lonely and depressed which leads many down the wrong path.

I've been to many cities across indias length and breadth for job and education. Every place I went, first thing I did was to befriend the neighbourhood tea stall/tobacconist (used to smoke back then) there's one at every corner. You visit that place regularly you share a laugh and a nod with other regulars. To the point they ask abt u if they don't see u for a couple of days. Then u add them on Facebook and see th living their lives for the rest of the life. \n\nWe talk to random people everywhere and in India atleast, a stranger is truly a friend you're yet to know. And that is what I love the most abt my country. And can't imagine living anywhere else.

After living next to annoying neighbors who make noise all hours of the night in an appartment, I wish I could live that isolated lifein one of those small townhouses. I dont want to know my neighbors becausr they are most likely unreasonable, better to be left alone than deal with shitty people.

This is very true . I am currently in Tanzania waiting to go back to the UK. My daughter and grandkids left on the 27thMarch the peace and the sun here in Tanzania is unmatched. We have been conditioned to think.Africa is poor blah blah it is a lie. If you watch any old newsreel films of cities from 100 years ago, the first thing you will probably notice is how many people are outside on the sidewalks, standing outside shops, talking to each other. Then compare that to film of today and the streets of most towns are empty, there is nobody outside, the only time you know people are around is when cars drive by. It's true, life in the U.S. has changed radically, people no longer socialize outside, life is inside and people avoid others.

As my husband (EBM) knows well, our family is recognized all over the city. Either, someone from our church sees us and says hi, the employees at Target, Walmart or other grocery store know us. It’s hard to miss our crazy family. We have three children under 12 years. One must try to engage others. You cannot blame others for a lack of social interaction if you yourself do not try. Do not think that you will get best friends just from talking to some one. Most people want to *feel* they can trust you. Be yourself. Whomever you are. Do not pretend to be anything you are not. While being fake can get you somewhere, it’s still fake. Plenty of people here in the US are fake. You have to find *your* people. It takes time and energy.

90 percent of people i know regret migrating to USA and Canada, still your homeland is the best. If there is no compelling reason to migrate then don't.

Yeah I don't understand why people want to come to Canada except to make a bunch of money and go home after a few years. I am 60 now, when I grew up we played in the streets and ran wild. No play dates. Neighbors knew each other. I don't know what happened. It's so sad now.

You are right. I am Canadian and it's cold, I mean, very cold. We can't wait for the summer which do not last and are very short. With the pandemic situation, everything changed in the last 2 years. Masks, take out, social distancing, no restaurants, cinema things like that, it got worst. I took an early retirement we moved in the country side where our parents were raised and all of our cousins and brother & sister are, people know each other. It's totally different. You go anywhere you are not a number, you are people. The bad parts are there are no much work or job available, you have to wait to get older to live there or if your lucky enough to get a job, you keep it, no choice and all the muskitos for a month in spring, it's so bad that you can't stay outside for too long. We call this ''muskito clouds''.

I am from Pakistan. Studied and lived in USA for over 10 years. Don't know where my time has gone so fast. Life is very busy in usa (I lived in Chicago, Denver, Orange County, CA and LA. People have to work two jobs to ends meet. Most people have to share housing...that really sucks. Constant expense (rent or mortgage payments are so high people have to constantly work. Whatever time people get they run chores and stay home and chill. You see ultra rich or people on welfare having fun at the beach. I have had a very close friend from pakistan came to usa same time as I did. we both never had enough time to meet up on regular basis. even when we met we had so many things in back of our minds running. I had couple of girlfriends (of course at different times) but they had other boyfriends at the same time. And number one thing they had on their mind is was get money from you. What you wear and drive is what you are. People consider you obsolete if you wear non branded shoes or older models of branded shoes. I traveled extensively in the US and Canada. But in East Europe like Romania and Poland I found people very friendly. Now I am back in pakistan facing basic problems like traffic jams, noisy honking streets and so on but for some reason i feel worriless and relax. whenever i go out, people start to talk to you and you feel like home. everyone is super friendly and is available for help. however you cant really trust people with money though. hahahha. After living in USA for so long I do really miss many things about it though. the efficient system is definitely a big plus. and i have realized that some times i like being all alone for extensive period of times. but knowing that i can meet up anyone any time gives me peace of mind. i have realized hard way that man made martials can amuse you to some extent only. you need live beings are you.

My friend, it depends on what you want out of your time in US. If you want outdoor life, there is plenty of it here, you just have to know what to do and where to go. If you have been indoors for 10 days and only gone out twice, then that tells a lot about your own self, not being an outdoor person. There are parks, lakes, amusements, beaches. There are facilities for hiking, walking, cycling, etc. I really think that you have not been exposed or you have not explored what is available here for outdoor fun. In the western world you can take your family out camping in the forest with the assurance that you will come back home safely. You can take your boat down to the lake for a day of fun with no problem. If you lived in most parts of Africa, and bought a boat, and started going to the river or lakes in the weekend, then the police commissioner, or military person who lives close to you will fabricate a reason to intimidate you and confiscate it. What I mean is in Africa, you run the risk of becoming a target once people see that you are an ordinary citizens who is doing well. Here, not like that.\n\nJust be happy that you are here and make the most of it. While you were in Africa, you dreamt about coming to America, now that you are here, all you want is to recreate Africa here. If Africa was good enough, no African will want to be here.

I hear you very well my brother. My only issue about this is that it seems like you came there to judge their lifestyles, and how they do things. I mean you know exactly why you relocated there and there are even good countries in Africa or outside where in which you could have stayed which would have accommodated the type of person you are. I am an introvert and I would definitely enjoy staying there because less contact with people gives me more energy and happiness. It is very vital to be prepared mentally, physically, and spiritually when you relocate to a different place. That is why doing prior research about the environment you are moving to is important. I am assuming you are temporarily just staying there, right? I mean like most of your family is back home in Africa. Then, why are you stressing yourself out?

Being Belgian myself and having worked in africa for a few years, I was surprised to see how happier people in those countries were compared to us Europe or North Americans!!! In spite of living in poorer countries, they have much less issues with loneliness, suicide and depression!!! Also, Africans tend to be much less indebted than North Americans as their banks do not have this stupid credit score system that out too much pressure on people!!! Sir I have shifted to UK ..around 5 months ago...I spent around 12 years in Saudi arabia before.\nThe main difference between our country and this country is the PEOPLE.\nIts not the prices..the money etc that makes you feel better. I’m from Manitoba and honestly some of these facts I never knew like almost everybody I’ve ever meet are really happy and a lot of people I know have great grandparents who lived to 100 even my own though a lot of it’s true like the cold and mosquitoes but they’re not bad every year just to know.

I live in Waterville Quebec, I have visited from one end to the other and I still prefer Quebec. I loved visiting every province & as a Carnival worker I got to know a lot of people. Canada is One big family.

As someone who spend some time in Vancouver, really considered to get more years visa I will compare with my home country Czech Republic and European-Union at all. I only find benefits in Canada:\n - big Czech comunities in Vancouver and Rockies and Toronto, its very heartwarming spending time with these people, getting contacts etc.\n- incredible nature\n- stay far from Russia (these days)\n\nBut It is not so big deal in case of money (pay/living ration), payed holiday (we have 5 weeks as standard), healthcare (I know people who FLY FROM CANADA TO EU for dentist) and distances. LIke evening trip after work is almost impossible. Going abroad is soooo far compare to Europe etc. I love Canada, at least for roadtrips, but I am not sure if starting from scratch, getting canadian experience really trade off

This is bullshit, it's not that bad, all the immigrants I know love it here, taxes are better in other provinces and pay is better in the higher tax provinces. It's the same stuff in the US. I think Quebec is most stunning. Steeped in history, great food, mountains and rivers/lakes and the ocean is magnificent. Newfoundland the most friendlest, night life unforgettable fun you won't know when to go home? the food to die for. But it's the people who are really the drawing card. Their big hearted kindnes cannot do enough for you to take care of you to ensure you enjoy your stay. You don't have much money? No problem just mention it to someone/anyone and Presto you will have a place to stay for free. Home cooked nutritious meals, a tour of the city and especially George St that has more Bars and Entertainment than people. Hugs Only.. by way of payment. Ohh yeah I forgot to say.. Wow, very interesting discussion. Many Canadians know about America but, many Americans do not know about Canada. Especially Africans Americans who do not know that Canada has African-Canadians too and other people of color also. Similarly, Canada and America are very related in just about everything. I know me being a American, if I was not a American. I would want to be a Canadian. Having been station at Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota and Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota. I am familiar with the weather in Canada. The mistake I made was not to travel to Winnipeg, having spent over 6 years in North Dakota, I regret that so much especially during the summer time. I've lived 2 years in Toronto. Plusses, it's all there, sports, theatre, music, amazing restaurants. Negatives I found the people difficult to get to know, I usually felt I wasn't breathing fast enough, and no mountains. I've lived 10 years in Calgary. Plusses, people are incredibly open and friendly, mountains, energetic without being frenetic, affordable. Minuses, very cyclic economy, everything always under construction with little sense of history or culture. I was born and raised in Victoria and returned here 34 years ago. Plusses, ocean and mountains, sense of history, laid back and friendly, amazing climate. Minuses, completely unaffordable (if I hadn't bought my house over 30 years ago I couldn't afford it today). Enjoyed them all but wouldn't voluntarily leave Victoria.

Immigration for Canada is a big money maker and who gives a shit if they go back after a year or 2 , they already contribute to government's by loosing their money and working like a hors for couple of years and pay 45% taxes . Listen any country which is easy ( kind of ) to immigrate its because they need money and cheap workers . Can you immigrate to US or Denmark or any other European country as easy as you can to Canada ? the answer is no with very big N unless you have some thing they don't or need and that thing is not money lol

Glad Saskatchewan got 6th, tbh was expecting a 7 but I didn't know the overall quality of life was so high lol. Yeah it's okay here and the diversity is nice, lots of my friends growing up were 2nd gen or 1st gen immigrants! Lovely people, I haven't really experienced much shitty people living here my whole life. I have heard many stories of people getting robbed or other stuff.
