You guys were spot on with this video. I am Canadian born from Caribbean immigrants and all we've done from jump is work multiple jobs. If you live in Toronto you can't just have one job; even lawyers and engineers have side hustles. My uber drivers are usually tech engineers! Most people usually immigrate to the US after getting their visa because the pay is so much more and the cost of living is lower. An example some jobs I'm looking at in Canada pay $50-$60k base demanding 5 yrs experience with 2-3 wks vacation. In the US the same job pays $75-100k base, unlimited vacation, work from home 2-3 yrs experience! I now live here part time and most of my wealthy friends have moved to the US, Costa Rica or Mexico because the cost of living is too high and it's no longer worth it. No life balance, even working remote you're a slave, the cost of living is outrageous

It is best not to have high expectations about any country. No country is heaven and all together rosy. But I can say Canada is one of the best places to live in at this time. Some other western countries are even more challenging to live in. It is generally lonely when living abroad. it is not just unique to Canada alone.Nigeria is not any better. It is all about budgeting and not living beyond your means.

Wow, I’ve learned a lot about Canada that I didn’t know and I’ve visited Vancouver for one day while vacationing in Seattle WA 20+ years ago. One day most certainly isn’t enough time to get the feel of a place and most definitely not when considering to relocate. As a kenyan living in the UK for the past 7 yrs ,i came into conclusion that theres something not right about nigerians living abroad, among all africans ive met here in England, its only nigerians that never loves their country compared to other africans, ive met south africans ,cameroonians ghanians ugandans malawians liberians and Gambians all of them are proud of their respective countries and they tend to go back whenever they get the opportunity, i inclusive i do go back to kenya like every december coz i just cant stand being in the UK the entire year without going back home for a couple of weeks ...when it comes to nigerians ive met over here theres something always off, they hate their country sooo much to an extent one told me nigeria is a country in ICU ,some even told me they can set foot in africa but not nigeria..so nigerians tell me wats soo bad about your country that you tend to run away from it, even in my home country kenya there are estates designated for nigerians..Besides i prefer being in UK than in north america coz of the distance i cant imagine being in US or canada coz of the flight hours ,they're sooo far away from my country i love it in the UK coz its closer to home and i dont need connecting flights in most cases when going to kenya.

Most are good genuine people, they work hard have children build a life for themselves and become useful citizens and contribute to the community they join. every once in a while I hear someone make claims like they deserve preparations because Canadians act racist towards them. The truth is that if Nigeria doesn’t get better, even the few that said they will return back home will never return. Cos if you plan to come back in your old age, have you forgotten that old age is a time when you desperately need good health care to ensure you live a healthy life? who will provide that good health care if you are in Nigeria? Salams, my African sisters. I loved your informative video it’s very similar to living in the US, where I’m from. Here it is much worse, there is RACISM, CRIME, ect. You would wait 8 hours in hospital but have to pay thousands yourself. The taxes are less here but you spend so much more in healthcare and at work you get one week of vacation and you’re discouraged to take it. The cost of living is high here as well. I've got to agree, Québec is the number one province in Canada. I've lived in most of the great cities of the world; Montréal is first in my mind, pocket, and belly (food, French and every other culture!) ... safe, cultured, and temperate in climate (once you get through windy and cold January and February!). The (McGill Univ.) health system is arguabbly the largest, most diverse and effective in the world!

Living in Canada is great and lovely. Yes we have high taxes but the money is used for infrastructure, good health etc. about working, living in every Western Country, you have to work to live a good life. The amount of weeks to go for vacation depends on the type of job and the years you have worked in that company and hours you have accumulated. It’s not usually 2 weeks as you stated. Lots of people gets one month, six weeks etc. About the professionalism as stated, if the university of your country is a recognized one, you may be asked to take few courses to top up to Canadian Standard. Some people who come as nurses writes their NCLEX and can work, others take few nursing courses and then write their NCLEX. Canada is a Peaceful country. If you go to school and have your profession and live a balance life, you can buy your house and enjoy life. Canada is a family oriented country.

Canada has sky high immigration because it is a failed state, the population was declining. Immigration is basically all that is keeping the country from imploding. They will let in anyone because they are desperate to keep the tax base growing. The landmass itself is gorgeous, but the quality of life continues to deteriorate by the day. The country is run the by Royal Family, Trudeau is just a stooge people elect to grovel to the Queen and her son, he has no power. They are confused environmentalists, they want to grow their tax base and keep the country from imploding, meanwhile they want to use as little land as possible to do it. So you get stacked and packed into a condo and get worked nonstop and taxed so hard you can never accumulate enough savings to stop working. The whole country is a slave colony really. I'm leaving Canada shortly, I don't recommend it as a long term place to live, no one is really happy here.

Your 8 hrs+ waiting in the ER is literally a standard waiting time...so please be PATIENT! ( just getting a little sarcastic here, i know it sucks!) 35 to 40% of my money go the government ( although i feel they take 50%) and life is not that cheap ( a lot of Physicians leave expensive places like NY because they can't afford them anymore! ) have you heard of HOMELESS workers in LA? ( some have 2 jobs but still can't afford an apartment and live in their cars ) things are hard everywhere, especially if you are an immigrant living in one of the coldest place in the world (btw nobody called you, that was your choice, so suck it up!) Taxes are meant to run the country's affaires but people are just mean. You love it when you are broke and are able to benefit free services from the government but when you start making some money and are asked to contribute so that the country can keep up with all it's programs you start complaining. Come back to Africa, there is always a trade-off. No good service and less taxes. Just keep in mind that Africa not developing is our choice otherwise the cost of development is that, in a way ( higher taxes and government's direct control over people's affaires). I thank God anyway that you people can complain of better living condition but I would rather get busy working hard in Canada than not finding a decent job in Africa or bare the cold whether than sleeping hungry in Africa. While not staying that you would be in the worst conditions in Africa, I want you appreciate what you have and remember one truth, so many people in Africa would wish to be in your position. Taxes are high in Canada. But try paying 20,000 to 25,000 to buy health insurance for a family of three. And you go to hospital for a week and end up with $125,000. Bill. So of course there’s more opportunities there. \nAnd finally imagine if more countries didn’t need visas to travel? They really would just come to make money and go back home or live bicoastal. After listening to all these people speak. I can tell you that family and community is number one. Human beings gravitate towards each other. So if they could bring that community with them to Canada they would be happy. All they want is security, peace and acceptance. No one is saying I want to be in Canada because of $$$$. When I tell Africans not to go to Canada they never listen. Canada is a really cool country. There's no doubt about that but in winter the weather gets really cold, dull, grey and depressing. Instead of moving always to The UK, US or Canada, why not try the Caribbean and some central American countries. These countries are very colorful, lively and bright with climate similar to ours. There are lots of folks over there that look like us as well except that you may have to learn a little Spanish which shouldn't be a problem at all. \nI'm a Nigerian too.\nI also dreamt of moving to Canada 15 years ago. I was so crazy in love with the country at first but because I was aware of how depressing winters can be I had to switch my dream destination to the Caribbean. I choose Panama because of the large Afro Panamanian community over there. Secondly because Panama looks like a more developed version of My country, Nigeria with beautiful beaches and a nice tropical weather. It's one of those few Caribbean nations with a free world class universal healthcare system like most countries in Europe.
