Once you get into Canada, free Welfare for life. Even if you get a job you still get access to all the services provided within for subsidization, etc. Government transit passes, subsidized housing, carbon tax funding, food bank access where if you have a family you get way better food than single folks (cakes etc.), lots of child support, credit to attend community centers (swimming pool, etc.), paid tuition and the list goes on.

Immigration laws exist for a reason. The audacity of illegals. Their blatant disregard for our process. Bunch of fools that risk their lives and their children’s lives in brutal winter conditions. Meanwhile Canada is in the midst of a housing crisis. Middle class families having to use food banks. We can barely provide for our own. Meanwhile Canadian police continue to act as bellhops. What a joke.

We are seeing because our current government is inept!!!….We can not sustain this! These people have no jobs . How will they procure what they need housing , food, money, transportation etc. The Tax payer ! Is how the government fixes things!..,

Very sad for the refugees. Canada needs more people for low-paying jobs (farmhand, food delivery, cleaners etc). But the system isn't set up to fully utilize skilled workers. Refugees aren't allowed to find work so they just become a liability.

Tonight I watched a man digging through trash looking for food while I was getting gas. He couldn’t speak a word of English. I asked him if he was looking for food and he was embarrassed and said I was just looking for something. I gave him $5 and said get some food and he gave me a fist bump and smiled. After going to back to my car I told my daughter to wait and went into the convenience store after him and told him to get whatever he wanted to eat and I’d pay. I had to keep asking him to take more he refused most of what I offered. \nI paid for the food and told him God loves you and may He keep you safe and fed. He said thank you in English and I walked out to my car and cried the whole ride home while my daughter was silent bc she knew why I was crying. I could tell he was ashamed and it broke my heart even more. The US complains about growing illegal crossings from Canada to the US, meanwhile the US and CBP agents literally pay illegals in the US, to come to Canada. The illegals are provided cash, food, transportation and directions to an illegal crossing into Canada. The US is pissed that Canada wants changes to the safe 3rd country agreement and is fighting those changes.

Trudeau needs to shut this border crossing already. It is so hard and competitive already to find an apartment or house to rent, there are canadians suffering and waiting on the central housing list here for years and guess who keeps moving to the front of the line taking the spots, these people who are put up in hotels, given food, money, and citizenship, also all while the people who are trying to immigrate legally have to pay and wait, it's not fair for them. I love different cultures but this needs to be done legally, things are already rough for a lot of canadians and this is just going to continue to strain the system.

I feel bad for the taxpayers specially with the prices of food and rent. Good for those living under welfare and such but the working class are the ones suffering.

My stepson works in Tuk NWT, and he gets his food and lodging paid for, and gets to fly back to Alberta for a break every few weeks. He really likes it. In the winter they're only allowed to stay outside for a certain amount of time, and then go inside to warm up for awhile.

Canada is nice, until you speak out against the alphabet mafia. That is still better than living in india. Quality of life in india is horrible. A single room apartment in india can easily cost between 25000-35000 in cities like pune , Bangalore, hyderabad and Mumbai. Mumbai is the most expensive. Salaries is so bad that an average person simply cannot have any dreams. Also many apartment in india which are rented don't even have gas so cooking food at home is not an option. Quality of food outside is horrible and also expensive. Water is of bad quality as well. So many things in india are actually more expensive than canada for example- phones , laptops, cars , fuel , protein supplements, real estate. My parents don't have enough money to send me to canada. So many times Living in india actually makes me wish I was never born. It's been years since I have stopped celebrating my birthday. Just existing and continuing to live because if I end my life who will take care of my mom and dad.

Great video! Another issue is childcare for working parents. There is no free childcare for working couples, both parents have to work to afford bills and the mother staying at home is not an option for the majority of working class Canadians since life is too expensive. For this reason a lot of people decide not to have children in this country simply because of unaffordability. Considering all the taxes Canadians pay this would greatly help people. The government gladly keeps bringing more and more new people into Canada ( mostly to get voters) but ignores the needs of existing Canadians. Not only you cannot find a house to live or afford one but having a family is nearly impossible without 3 or 4 jobs and using the food bank because after paying the rent there is no money to buy food.

Canada is not worth coming to if you own a home in your current country and are generally happy, have a decent job and family, don't come here because it will not be easy or better than what you have. You will have to start from nothing, working the worst jobs cleaning hotels and toilets or working minimum wage in a retail store, even if you are a professional in your home country. There is nothing better here, nothing is free unless you come as a refugee. This country is the anti-dream of America. The taxes are very hi, the rent is unaffordable, to buy a house you have to make $200,000k a year, so basically you will be screwed. There is no way to save for retirement in Canada, so don't think life will get easier. In Canada you will get stuck working well beyond your retirement years like into your 70's you will work here until you drop dead. My parents are 70 and still work because they are still paying off their mortgage, while they get retirement $1,300 per month which is the standard is a joke since it doesn't cover the basics, you need $6,000 at least to survive for a month, to buy food, gas for your car, carinsurance, phone bill, utilities, anything else, just the basics. What the government gives you is completely unrealistic to the times, considering the amount of money people pay in taxes you don't get enough during your retirement years, the government has no use for you so they dont care about you when you get old.

You're comparing Montreal to major cities in America. If that's the case, what you're saying is fair. Montreal is in deed well planned and human scaled. BUT the rest of Canada is NOT like this. Other cities like Mississauga, Hamilton, Scarborough, Calgary, etc etc are all sprawling, ugly, need a car, stupid expensive, shit transit, shit food you name it. Toronto is also stupid expensive but at least has good food.
