I may be wrong on the number but I think we have 54,000 homeless people many of them children and not enough shelters to house them. We live in one of the coldest countries during the winter many died Frozen on sidewalks. Most of the people here struggle to find work. I'm a refugee in Canada since 1999 and because I don't have two peices of id I can't do anything. Can't get a driver's licence, have a sin card but can't work and noone helps you fix your situation. Its bullshit nothing gets done without paying a lawyer

As a Canadian I feel sad for all the families who cross the border seeking refugee status and don’t get accepted, but at the same time you can’t just come into a country illegally, without proper documentation and with no threat back home and expect to become a citizen.

It's not enough to live in a shit-hole country with violence. To be considered a refugee, that violence must be targeting YOU and your family SPECIFICALLY. It's not enough to just live among it. If your country sucks, it's your duty as a citizen to fight and work to end that unpleasantness. El Salvador's government does not persecute its people—it's just incompetent.
