Trudeau lied to immigrants about Canada. And he lied to Canadians about immigration. And then there's Trump. Some illegals in the USA feared imminent deportation so they gambled by crossing the northern border. There are no legitimate refugees who originate from the USA. You might be fleeing prosecution, but not persecution.

Many if not all of Canada's cities have now become heavily populated with immigrant and refugees alike. Diversity can be a good thing for many cities but when such large numbers appear in such a short amount of time this can cause major problems.

The amount of births is staggering. The ones 'applying' for refugee status would give birth here in Canada. Which the people in charge would then have to approve them or the new born would suffer.

All you privileged people from the west. It's easy to point fingers and to reject others when you have never experienced hardships like some refugees. This man just wants a future for his family. Is it a sin to try to have a better life? I'd also go to such lenghts for the hope of a brighter future in a country that has not one of the highest murder rates inthe world.

The difference between the 60,000 Vietnamese boat people that came to Canada and the current wave of refugees is that the boat people were by and large law abiding people who are willing to accept our law, customs, culture and way of life. Several of my close friends are boat people. The current wave of refugees want Canada to adopt their way of life, some are abusive to local residence and are disrespectful to our culture, their neighbours and damage the hotels that they stay in when they first set foot in this country. I am all for accepting refugees. But send them back if they refuse to integrate into our society.

tell the truth, why have them here in the first place in give them assistant,their are no jobs,no housing for them, they put them in hotels for $200 a night, every thing is free for them ,but if you are canadian you dont qualify.if your kid is over 18 in cant find work and lives at home ,he does not qualify for assistance,he has to be living else where for 1 year, what a country we live in, refugees ,have more rights then some one living in canada their whole life,this country has gone to pot,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The only way that a refugee can be welcome it's to be polite with the country you're, not a muslim, keep the country clean, and please find a job and help native citizens to get a job before a savage, this is the most neutral way i can be without being a conservative or a leftist liberal.

Refugees are supposed to stop in the first country they can. El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, USA, Canada. Did they get turned down three times before arriving in Canada? We are putting refugees in hotels and motels temporarily because we have run out of public housing and shelters....unlike the States we take care of those who needs help....I don't mind paying higher taxes if it means we have a better education system, health care for all, less crime etc and most of all a most just society....

It's a lie that refugees give back more than they take. Stats for 2011 show that immigrants take, on average, about $6K a year more than they pay in tax. The government mantra that immigrants pay Canadians social security checks after they have been here a while is bogus propaganda. Canadians may want to take people in knowing they will be a burden to taxpayers and that's one thing, we do have big hearts, but the truth should be told to the taxpayers who end up paying for it. Don't you think?

Canada has been using hotels for refugees for decades - and they aren't 5-star hotels. I doubt they are even a 2 star. And the goofball Canadian on here forgets to inform Tucker Carleson that 90% of Canada is the wilderness where there are no cities or civilization to house anyone in our vastness.

We don't have jobs and housing for Refugees. A lot of Canadians already need help and support from the government. If you're coming here, do it the right way. We do want liabilities here because there's nothing for us already. Don't take away our pension and tax from us.

There is Safe Third Country Agreement between the US and Canada. Therefore the law says you are required to claim refugee status in the first country you land in. With that being said he landed in the US first and probably applied for status there. This is a strong deciding factor for the government's decision process amongst other factors. I feel for him but laws are laws.

It's not perfect but I rather these people have a place to stay while they are processed then locked in cages. I rather get more tax payers in the long run. I live in Toronto, Canada.\n\nFirstly, their are 500 men,women and children being placed in hotels temporarily. Much better than cages! \n\nSecondly, these individuals have already gone through the immigration process, hearing claims, back ground checks, medical checks. So these individuals in hotels have already been accepted to stay in Canada. They are in hotels due to Housing shortage issue. \n\nThird, way more illegal immigrants have been detained and removed from Canada. \n\nFourth, most of these people are families. Canada is very skeptical of accepting males. Sorry guys! \n\nFifth, these hotels have a contract with the government. These are the same hotels that were used to temporarily shelter Syrian refugees. Usually 3-4 families stay in one hotel. 500 people won't be staying in the same hotel. Plus the hotels charge the government an insane amount. So they make money. \n\nSixth, more than 10% of hotel cleaning jobs go unfilled. Guess what? Most of these asylum seekers end up working in the hotels they're staying in because of program called Employing Newcomers in Canadian Hotels Project. \n\nDon't worry about us America we know what we're doing. Trust me, no children were separated from their families and placed in cages.

I don't agree with illegal immigration but if the Canadian system is going to put someone through their court system instead of just throwing them out, then when the refugee loses his case the Canadian gov should at least reimburse them with their lawyer/court costs.
