Okay. A lot of people here have no clue how the immigration system works both in the US and in Canada. “He should just have come here legally”. Well, most of the time a legal path to emigrating to the US/Canada just does not exist, and its getting more and more impossible to be granted asylum. In the US you can’t just apply for a work visa, you can’t just apply for a green card. You got to be eligible to apply for it. For a work visa you need a job offer first, you need proof of income and most of the time the employer will have to prove they couldn’t find an American to take the position. To get a green card you either have to get married to an American, invest at least $500,000 or try applying for asylum (which is almost impossible to get nowadays). ALSO to apply for asylum you need to be either inside the US or at a US port of entry. Try to be less “patriotic” and more empathetic. People flee their countries because of war, violence, cartels, gangs, terrorism, etc. They are desperate and want to protect their families and have a better life. If you were in their shoes and staying in your home country put your family in great harm you would have done the same thing. People need to stop judging, stop being selfish and start leading with empathy.

I don't know why people are shocked that illegal immigration is frowned upon. The days of looking for warm bodies to settle a frontier are over. There's a backlog of LEGAL immigration and any time a country needs more people they can generally turn on the tap. Illegal immigration has no benefits for the host nation over legal immigration.

Canada indeed has systemic racism for sure. It's not same type of country has origin linear ethnicity such as Korea or Japan. It was built on first nation land in better way than USA. If Canada the county needs immigrants to keep the system and economy works, they start sharing major sectors with proper communities that absolutely respect Canada system their daily life rely on. People are concerned because most individuals who practice Islam are unable to assimilate into western society, and accept the rules and laws of the country in which they live! Their religion and religious beliefs are more impotent to them. But such a thing can also be said for any other overly religious individual who takes their religion to seriously! What kind of computer system does Canada have. A stamp on a passport needs to be backed up by the same info in the system. I got caught on this same thing in Peru! Peru! Loll but many don’t even know the first thing, the difference between permanent residence and citizenship. Immigration jail is referred to PR required living time in Canada. PR don’t have a Canadian passport and only citizens can have it. Once you are a Canadian citizen, you don’t need to live in Canada for a required time. China does not allow dual citizenship and that is why they try to scam the system to make up the living time in Canada.

A Canadian Immigration judge will notice immediately two main things about this guy: 1- No English having lived 15 years in the US & 2 - No specialized skilled labor or higher education. If he ever gets asylum granted, it will be thanks to his kids who will eventually assimilate unlike he ever did and because Canada needs to grow its population that is among the lowest in the world at #43 with 11 per 1000. The countries on that list with lower birthrates than Canada are mostly small islands or tiny countries like Liechtenstein. Why? Because of the high cost of living and raising a child, #1 country is Japan.

I went on a date with a recent immigrant from China. She had a fake job in Montreal which her parents back in China pay for. All she does is study French at “work” and collects a “pay Cheque” so she can pass the job / language checks and get her citizenship via Quebec, before she heads to Vancouver. Canadian/provincial immigration is completely broken and needs to be fixed.

We need to shut down immigration until we're at full employment, the participation rate is near 100%, wages are rising, and young people have enough confidence in their futures to begin starting families. We don't need or want any more immigrants.

The problem is the government didn't know how to make enough money in the country...... That's why they want more other people to do investment or have business in Canada in order to bring more money into the country. The fact is the social welfare is too good that government might not be able to afford that big spending. First, Government needs to know how to make money on their own, not depending rich immigrants. Second, encourage citizens to have baby by providing benefits for them, to boost the birth rate. Third, stop being so nice to refugee, stop importing refugee! The biggest problem of refugee is they don't make money to the country, they rely on social welfare heavily.

A few things do not make sense. For example, they have their own translator to lie for them, How is it possible that there is no counter measures in placed? i.e. immigration's own translator. Just like sports, you have more than 1 referee in a game. Secondly, how is it possible to become to citizen without knowing either English or French? (referring to the need of translator for citizenship test) If they love the country enough to migrate, shouldn't they have similar values? It seems like they are just here for benefits? Why is the immigration criteria being so loose?
