I am a dual citizen. I was born and raised in Canada but eventually moved to the US. I am glad because my pension is now in US Dollars. Both countries have their pluses and minuses. Unfortunately, both countries have horrible leaders. Wokeism and Progressivism are destroying our nations. The rest of the world is laughing at us. Our own worst enemy is our own ways. I don't know where this lady is coming from, but assuming that banning the hijab for police, judges, teachers and so on is a form or racism is as dumb as possible. I was there in Canada and believe it or not, their sales tax is way on the rooftop! I can’t even buy a T shirt for souvenir….13-15%. ? whereas in ?? our sales tax is only 6%. The highest sales tax I paid was in LA…w/c is 9%. So many job offers here in ?? and pay is good. The weather was tremendous in Canada ??. Overall, it’s not a ?? isn’t a place for me. Well everyone, the option is to go into a system like the United States has , which incidentally is far from perfect itself, my spouse was in emergency for five hours last Saturday night before anyone looked at her, , which the system will spiral in to a business and if you think you have problems now, just wait till what’s down in the future. As a Canadian who has lived in the United States the last seven years, our good family healthcare is $1270 US a month, which incidentally has a $1000 deductible and a 10% co-pay on everything we experience, and trust me an MRI scan ( yes , just a scan, not surgery) for your brain is costed out at $7000, so be prepared to pay your deductible and 10% of it along with all the other attending doctor charges, even with good healthcare at 1270U.S. a month ! That monthly healthcare premium is almost $1600 a month Canadian. Canadians complain about taxes being too high also, but that is my profession, and when you round out the two , there may be 2 to 3% adjusted for the exchange rate higher and you still get a lot greater bang for the buck. Also, your higher education in the United States is easily 2 to 3 times of what you’re paying for in Canada. I know it’s not optimal, however trust me you still have it good in Canada, I find so many immigrants complain about it when they come to Canada, Yet they are living in a relatively safe and secure country, just a little bit of appreciation would be nice. Is it always what I can get, how about maybe what you can give? Maybe the answer for everyone and candidates to start to pay to go see a doctor if you can have the doctors availability, that is the sad truth, and I’m quite sure people will not like that by any means when they see the charges. Trust me ,Canada is obviously far from perfect, but is overall still a pretty darn good country, for somebody that dislikes it so much, they need to go back to where they’re from, and compare, it might be a better option for them.

I think most of your information are either too general or too specific. Australia is a great country, not less than Canada. Both have their shortcomings so it comes down to each individual preferences because if you choose either of these two countries to move in, you are set for the best countries to live on earth (for immigrants).

You're comparing Montreal to major cities in America. If that's the case, what you're saying is fair. Montreal is in deed well planned and human scaled. BUT the rest of Canada is NOT like this. Other cities like Mississauga, Hamilton, Scarborough, Calgary, etc etc are all sprawling, ugly, need a car, stupid expensive, shit transit, shit food you name it. Toronto is also stupid expensive but at least has good food.

As a dual citizen, there are so many things that's incorrect about this video. First of all, to make it an apples to apples comparison, I see no attempt to adjust the comparison by population. There is no point comparing Montreal (where I have lived) vs. Columbus, Ohio. Montreal is roughly 1.7 million people or 4 million metro. The correct comparison would be something like Boston. Similarly, there is no point comparing Montreal vs. LA in terms of geographical spread when LA is more than three times the size. So of course your commute will be different.\n\nComparing Montreal to Boston for example, Boston is very very compact. Yes, Montreal does have better food options than Columbus or your random rural suburbs. It doesn't come even close to similarly sized American cities. It's the same reason for example that one doesn't compare San Francisco for example, against London, Ontario. It's a pointless comparison.\n\nAdditionally, the claim that the worst part of Canada is better than the best part of America is laugahble. There is no truly terrible neighborhoods in Canada compared to American ones (where you can tell if you're in a bad neighborhood), but Canadians can't even imagine the wealth and prestige of the best parts of America, let alone compare with it. The wealthiest don't live in downtown New York (where they maintain their work residence), they live in Montauk. They don't live in downtown Boston, they live in Newton or Weston. The most affluent parts of Canada like Bridle Path/Rosedale (Toronto), Westmount (Montreal) or North Vancouver would look like abject poverty by comparison.\n\nOh, let's not also forget other factors for being in the US. The median household income in Canada is $67,000 Canadian. The median for the US is $69,000 US. The typical American is far wealthier than the typical Canadian. Anybody who tried to buy any goods (or services) in Canada and compared their choices in the US, it's not remotely comparable. Of course, the usual, taxes.

I live in a big metropolitan city, and it’s happened before where I’ve forgotten to lock my door, my car, etc. And nothing has ever happened. I feel safe as a woman walking in my neighborhood at night. I live in a very good neighborhood. Also, not fair to compare the USA to Canada based on your experience in California. California is by far the most expensive state in the nation, maybe more so than NY. Definitely right now, everything is expensive, but California is on a whole ‘nother level.

PHONE and UTILITY is harshly expensive in Canada compared to the US. When living in ATL about 10yrs ago, I would get unlimited North America wide calls and unlimited data $40-50. Here, you'd be lucky to get nights and weekends with some 500MB for that price back then.

I moved to Canada 3 years ago and I can tell you life here is much better financially than London, England where I moved from. Building wealth isn’t hard in Canada unless you live in a city like Toronto. I sold my 1 bed Condo in Toronto for $700k and bought a massive 4 bed, 3 bathroom detached house for 500k in Edmonton. Yes it’s colder here but the wages are much higher and the tax is much much lower. Cost of living in general is much cheaper… Gas as of today is 1.11 per litre at my local Costco!\n\nMy advice to anyone living in Toronto is, move out as soon as you can and also avoid Vancouver because it’s no different!
