I can fully relate and agree with everything you said and more not said. I never thought I would hate being Canadian or my home country but Justin pushed me past the line. And I even premoted that elitest spolied ahole in the first elections. Now I want him well it starts with D. \n\nI live between Winnipeg my home town and Montreal over the last 20 years. And I like and hate both cities at times but realize neither are lovable. \n\nMontreal is grey 80% of the timeand the people are so rude and hurtful. I hate the french just absolutly hate them. Not becasue of the langauge, but how they are so gross in every standard of life. They speak a way that is offensive and rude. They hate all outsiders and want to live in a closed embreed society.\n\nI couldn't imagine how nice this city could be if they would drop the bs discrimination of the nonsense language laws. It is systimatic discrimination. \n\nWinnipeg is green and sunny in summer but winter is very very harsh as Canadian all know. The fact that we have a homelessness crisis is enough justification to send them all packing. We need to fix our own issues before people who come here illegally thinking everything is free in America, come here with their own issues.

The difference is the quality of life in Canada is ranked by multiple organizations as significantly better than in the US. Better Education, Public Healthcare, and a strong economy mean less stress. Health Insurance in the US is hugely expensive. Incomes may be higher in the US, but so are things like the Health insurance, prescriptions etc. Canada has fewer bankruptcies if someone gets sick, and better social benefits for things like maternity leave... We don't have the huge population, but we also don't have many of the huge problems, like large racial conflicts, high crime rates, gun violence and economic discrepancies... And let's not even mention the vast political polarization in the US fed by disinformation and a free-for all social network where 'truth' long ago became not important, whereas winning is everything. Even if a former president needs to organize an attack on Congress... Overall Canada is a more desirable place to live.

On my opinion, its a balancing act of everything.

I think it depends on what you really want from a country. If you exclude costs of living, Canada today looks like a nice place for retirement where people just want to live life quietly and do simple happy things in life. This makes it not as focus on development in my opinion. The cost of everything is going up because if I was a rich person, I would go to Canada too to live life. Not as stressful and the nature there is just amazing. BC weather is really nice.

Canada is a super expensive country, I've been here for 30 years and still renting houses, unable to save for a downpayment to buy my own house, paying rent forever with my husband and not being able to afford to have kids either. This country is depressing, you go to college and then work and have nothing. Canada is not a happy country, people are broke, paying too many taxes and not getting the proper services, there is a shortage of family doctors in Canada. Also paying too much for rent and gas. The socialist government makes things harder year by year, they don't develop the economy to keep up with the times, the liberal government has a lot to do with the crappy economy here. They create policies to make everything extremely hard for Canadians to succeed. If you are thinking of coming to Canada, think twice, it's a trap, it will take you years to be able to afford anything, you will struggle most of your life.
