I moved to Canada in 2003, I think over the past few years things really took a turn for the worst and alot of the issues we're encountering now are mostly a result of government incompetency \n\n1) Instead of focusing on treatment and recovery we prioritized harm reduction and drug decriminalization which largely results in the current mental health/addiction crisis \n\n2) Instead of seeing housing as a public need, policies make housing investment vehicles (notably for rich folks in foreign countries) and locals can't really afford to buy or rent as a result\n\n3) Instead of building mass transit infrastructure including subways/light rail we continue to be extremely car-centric, most Canadians can't get around without a car but also can't really afford one due to all the costs associated with ownership. \n\n\n4) Government continues to cut back on healthcare spending despite an aging population across the country\n\nAnd one nongovernment-related aspect which is NIMBYism -- endless delays/protests on all major projects because someone is afraid their backyard views might be obstructed or some old trees might be cut.

Putting professional people from other countries, doctors, nurses etc, through recertification process before being allowed to practice in their fields, is not done only in Canada, it is done in the US as well and other developed countries, l am sure. The purpose is to be sure of the applicant's professional competence. In some countries, they cut corners with their educational system with such things as expo, cash and other things for grades. The Canadian system is prove what your paper says you're, so what is wrong with that. You don't go to an Organized country and expect it to be like Nigeria. I really don't get the belly aching.

Born and raised in Québec City, I think it's really special but each province/city has its own places of beauty. I worked in Toronto as a student and I had a fabulous time there. Different culture to Quebec but still nice and so welcoming. I swam in Georgian Bay, it is so huge, what a beautiful place. I also visited New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and parts of Nova Scotia and I couldn't believe the scenery and how friendly the people were. Unfortunately, it's often easier and cheaper for Canadians to travel south then east-west.

I've been to Canada a couple of times to Hamilton (outside of Toronto) because my mom's childhood friend from Manchester, UK lives there and I went to the states for a few weeks to Florida, DC and NYC on a massive trip.\n\nWhat struck me is how fit Canadian women are compared to US women. Also, how genuinely friendly and humble Canadians were compared to the brash know it all attitude of Americans. I was really looking forward to America cause I was raised on its culture here in the UK. Hi Makeitsimple, one small information I need as help, I applied for Visa already and your video was great help. So I wanted to check with you, any idea when you applied for your parents together, did the application was approved together for your both parents? In my case, I kept my Father as primary applicant and he got approval but my mother application is still showing medical approved and hasn't even moved to Biometric received. First off Canada is not a systemically racist country I’m white I’m also poor and I’ve lived here all my life nearly everyone excluding the native population in a immigrant or a descendant of a immigrant my mom is Portuguese and I also have black family members we are no more racist than anyone else in any other country. Canadian tax payers don’t want to pay for drug addicts to get more drugs the Liberal Canadian government have set up “safe injection sites” and “ methadone clinics” that basically give these addicts more drugs that are payed for with our tax dollars again these clinics and safe injection sites didn’t exist when I was a kid and since then the number home homelessness has increased as well as the number in population addicted to drugs. Also you’re getting your statistics on hate crimes motivated based on race or ethnicity from CTV new a media outlet on the pay role of the Liberal government most people with any sense don’t pay attention to mainstream media here in Canada because it’s no longer journalism when you parrot a narrative that the government that is constantly attacking the fundamental values of Canada no controls I live in a complex that consists mostly of Arabic in Syrian people most racist comments I’ve heard has been between other families that have recently immigrated to Canada and it doesn’t happen often it’s usually just from unruly kids that are too ignorant to understand the implications of the words they utter at one another RBC is one bank in Canada if all the people working there happen to be white it doesn’t make a difference and is likely purely because they’’ve been working that same job for many years now we don’t give people jobs in Canada based on their skin colour people get jobs based on their performance and wether they meet the necessary SKILL requirements for that job there are lots of other banks in Canada that have different cultural diversities so far I honestly just feel like your just shitting on my county and that’s extremely rude of you eh. Colorado tap water is really good.

Montreal rents in pretty good and in Quebec in general. Ontario is a fair bit more expensive. However even Ontario rents aren't that bad compared big US cities. Where Canada is really expensive is the cost of *owning* housing. I also don't really agree about food being more expensive in the US, I'd say it's pretty close, maybe even slightly cheaper in the US.\n\nAnd I don't think Columbus, OH would be that bad to live in. Sure, it doesn't have the big city life like Montreal or Toronto or even Vancouver, but it's probably on par with Edmonton, Winnipeg or London, ON or Kitchener-Waterloo? Maybe even like Ottawa, Hamilton or Calgary? (but warmer than all of the above).

Educated and professional Canadians are desperately trying to move to the US, including my wife, myself, my direct manager and two of my coworkers, but even with TN visa it is tough. Taxes are really high here, rent is expensive, good luck finding a daycare, we are working poor people here, job market is small and very competitive since Canada brings many highly educated professionals from everywhere (India, Pakistan, China, etc) it is hard to build a descent career, and most of all Canada has long and dark winters. I pray every day to have a possibility to move to the US, save some money, maybe buy a house with a 3-4 bedroom (which will never ever happens in the city where I live in Canada).

Things have been getting very difficult in on the east coast lately. The great Ontario exodus has been really putting all our health/real estate/employment sectors to the grindstone, but I mean I guess that's always been our motto though (hard times in the Maritimes™). I get all the points you guys are making, but I think most people when they visit the states go to the worst representations of us. Yeah LA and NY are cool big cities you see in movies and shit but they’ve been cesspools for a long time. I think people would find places they like by visiting the states and cities people don’t really talk about. That said Canada is probably the only other country I’d live in, I enjoy driving and the lifestyle I have, I don’t think I could have it anywhere else honestly.

I am really shocked to hear these two girls regarding why people are leaving Canada. As I heard cost of living is too high to survive in Canada. So what is the point working hard when have no reward end of the day as all your money goes into taxes and you left with nothing. It seems to me Canadians govt ripping people off instead helping people to have better life. I am shocked that you have to wait to see doctor eight hours .It is terrible to live in Canada as you not get any luxury money but only survival money. Canada govt have to make a change so people can stay otherwise people will leave and have a better life somewhere else.

This is really good except for the comment about economic mobility, statistically it's far easier to move up income decile in Canada than the States.

When I lived in NJ, people would work in NYC but wanted to live in central or southern NJ. I had a job that paid me $22/hour back in like 2012. But I worked with a guy who quit his job in the city because he couldn't stand the commute. Him and his family moved to a cheaper area of NJ (still nice, but cheaper) and he took a job where I worked. He told me that if I was driven, that same job paid $40/hour. And even then, he couldn't really afford to live comfortably in the city. But eventually he found it most beneficial to take a lower paying job closer to home and find a cheaper place to live. That is city living though. It's always way more expensive. But I agree, living in a city in the US is ridiculous when it comes to cost of living.

I used to live in Los Angeles and have been in Switzerland for the past 15 years....I hate going back to visit and having to travel all over the fucking place just to see people. Driving here, nope. Public transportation can't be beat here...homeless, if you homeless here you really had to make an effort to do that. Never missing LA one second lol

I lived in Edmonton for three years and your mass transit is quite good. But the further you get away from city centers it thins out. Here in the ?US we need to work our mass transit. White supremacy is really the biggest difference if we're honest... It influences so much we see and don't see in America. The highways, transportation, architecture, businesses, etc. have all been influenced by it in almost every major city.

In defense of Preach, I lived in the states for most of my life on the east coast. Been through the entire thing multiple times, lived in various areas and recently I moved to cali for 6 months before finally heading overseas to Japan. From my personal experience and even talks with other men who have been to even just only the east and west coast who live in the states; east coast women tend to be “rougher” than west coast women. The femininity thing is one angle sure, I think the New York style of talk is it’s own unique angle. But simply from a look’s perspective you are FAR MORE LIKELY to find attractive women on the west coast then on the east. I think a major contribution to this is the diet unfortunately. The diet on the east coast, the daily selections and just general culture around not eating clean really lends itself here. Many more overweight women on the east coast then the west. Overseas both coasts get blown out the water imho. Again largely due to what I suspect are better eating habits. Also what women wear around here tends to show better. America is really heavy on the yoga pants, buns in hair, etc. I rarely see that around here and if I do….. it’s an American women.

I live Perth, Western Australia, and it is not only the most isolated city in the world but probably the most spread out too, but at least we have really good public transport. My brother lives an hour away so I can just get on the train and relax on my way there. Train to city, train to job and shopping centre. Bus up the street or just walk. Nature and pathways everywhere. But to get to the next city LOL drive many hours or take a plane.\n\nAnd OMG the water safety in USA is insane. Its horrible you need bottled water to survive. Water out of any tap AND WE HAVE WATER SCARCITY HERE! shout out to the water Corp and government securing clean safe water (sorry to the pockets where it is missing)

I guess I can't really relate to some of your experience in the states because I live in Indiana which I don't have to tell you is much different from New York and California just based on where it's located geographically and it not being a big name state. But over here there is a lot of inter mingling amongst all races. Like my work place for example, we have about an equal spread of white/black/hispanic people that work there and we're all just chill about it, everyone just gets along and we don't really clique up based on skin color. It's not obsolete as is with anywhere, but it's nowhere near the degree in which you described in LA. We don't have a fuck ton to do down here, but we have enough to where it's not a negative factor. And anybody will just talk to anyone about anything really, similar to how you described New Orleans. Plus compared to the bigger cities our cost of living really isn't bad at all here in Indianapolis. We do have a spacing issue like with many states, where you're looking at a 2 hour drive if ya boy lives in Fort Wayne but we just have a fuck ton of interstates that take you anywhere you need to go to make up for it. This was nice change of pace for a video

It really do be a little segregated from in America with some things. Even though we’re all around each other. However I feel like the younger generation are a lot more diverse and will continue to grow that blend in the future

I live in British Columbia. In a city people consider “dangerous.” I remember I had a package delivered to my door. I was at work so I couldn’t go get it. I was imagining those videos I saw on YouTube of people getting their packages stolen within 10 minutes of it sitting there. But nah, It stayed there for 6 hours and never got stolen. Heck my workplace, had a package delivered on Friday evening and it stayed there outside until Monday. I was very surprised both times. I’m not saying that I’m living in a utopia, I’ve gotten robbed before, like everyone else I have my complaints. I think what really helps Canada is the smaller population. Less people means less people to rob shit. That tap water do be nice though.

I've been to Alaska Puerto Rico, Hawaii. Nowhere out of country except Canada. I can't lie. Canada has some beautiful women too

couple notes from an American perspective: canadians aren’t as polite and nice as the stereotypes. folks in montreal really think they in europe and not canada. canadian cities are diverse but there’s a “dryness” in the culture and atmosphere. canada is safer but also boring compared to the states

My family moved to a suburb of Atlanta 15 years ago from LaSalle, QC. I am happy to be away from the language politics and snow, but the living areas here are so segregated. They call the US a melting pot, but from my perspective the individual parts aren't blending together. I was so used to seeing Italian, African, Irish, Indian, Caribbean, Native, Asian, Middle Eastern, you name it peoples everyday at work, shopping and at the gym. Based on where I live, I really only see African Americans. The funny thing is, if I travel just a few miles in a specific direction, the demographics change dramatically.

The north east is the only place in America where it really has true cities..every other major cities are just a bunch neighborhoods surrounding the downtown area 40 minutes away

I've been to all the major cities and even I wonder how people survive on low paying jobs, what some people pay for a Studio in a major city could afford a house elsewhere. It also seems the bigger the city, the more segregated it is, I mean you have a Chinatown in almost every metropolis I've been to. NYC Public Transportation was disgusting...Tokyo was immaculate. America is a car country, and most city planning was done with the car in mind. Roll Tide.
