Trump is an obvious symptom representing an abundance of ignorance within the society, so blame not one but all responsible for a deeply ingrained interpretation of reality!
2025-03-04 0
So many of us, Americans do not support this. I understand your need for putting teff on us in response to the unjustified tariffs put on you and your country. Hopefully when we get rid of the orange in office, the world can go back to normal.

I just don't understand why is Canada responsible for American junkies? Canadians are not forcing Americans to get high. trump educates your people about drug addiction.
2025-03-04 0
Finally a reasonable discussion and response. Trump needs to stop the chaos and forge strength. We need to support our allies and fight against dictators like Putin.
2025-03-04 0
Trump does not speak for all of us. He only won by 48 percent. We understand your response because you have to stand up to a bully.

The US was partly responsible for the collapse of the Soviet Union. Mr. Putin was a KGB officer during that era. Mr. Putin realizes the depth of Trump's ignorance and intends to take advantage of their relationship in order to bring the US further along the path to economic collapse. Payback for its role in the collapse of the Soviet Union as well as an opportunity to rid the world of a dimming superpower.

Why the fuck are you calling a response an escalation?
2025-03-04 0
Why can’t we have responsible leaders like this? My apologies Canadians, I didn’t vote for the current US leadership.

Awaiting The Orange Pandas response! Is The traitor being advised by a nazi?
2025-03-04 0
Full props to Prime Minister Trudeau. A strong and decisive response was required and is exactly what’s needed to face trump down.

I have disliked trudeau for years. Im glad he is leaving and nothing he does now will change that or my mind. \n\nHowever, his responses lately have been on point. We will not back down and this is not on us. This is the states doing!!
2025-03-04 0
Who are our Dem politicians who will organize the ppl to respond??? Are they scared? This is crazy that all this is happening while the Dem response has been lukewarm. The ppl will show up. We need dates, places and times.
2025-03-04 0
Given how tariffs work, surely the response should have been not to retaliate?  \nRetaliations will increase costs for Canadians!? Trump's administration want a trade war. There has to be some covert devious evil plan. Ignore the fools. Don't play into their hands.
2025-03-04 0
Canada is like the responsible, clear thinking version of the US.
2025-03-04 0
I very much respect the Canadian Prime Ministers response.
2025-03-04 0
Ouch, Donald. Take that, an intelligent, coherent response to the orange lunitic, Russia lacky
2025-03-04 0
Sorry Justin... even though I enjoyed this speech you're still responsible for ruining our country. Your woke policies and taxes have crippled the majority of Canadians and you have the nerve to say the government has our backs is an absolute joke. I don't believe a word you say and I never will. If Pierre was in office right now Trump would have respect for us Canadians. Trump despises JT and so do 80% of Canadians.

A neurologist should thoroughly examine Trump's brain, as I strongly suspect the presence of significant anomalies. It is conceivable that some of these could be addressed through medical intervention. However, in his current state, his cognitive and behavioral responses appear untenable. It would be prudent to declare him temporarily unfit for decision-making until his condition improves. Wishing him a swift and full recovery!\n\nPeople of Canada, we in Germany hold you in high regard and stand with you. Stay strong—we will support you ❤

Waiting for “Donald” to response in CAPS!!! On tweets!!! ?????
2025-03-04 0
Pop off, king. Hell yeah. Love my country and proud of this response.
2025-03-04 0
If drugs are the problem (they´re NOT on the Canadian border), how about if more people in US be responsible and stop taking them !?
2025-03-04 0
An amazing response from Canada. I stand with you! ❤

Great response to a very scary/trying time for the world.

Someone tell Adolph trump to read history, THIS IS HOW TO START A WAR. We the people are responsible for letting this go on. We need to stop it before it is too late and then \nWe will be saying “we should have done something”.too bad we didn’t have someone with intelligence and common sense as Trudeau.

I agree with Canada in every statement said here. It’s sad that Americans have allowed themselves to be manipulated by one man. As an American I say to Canada and Mexico, do what you need. We don’t see this as an attack on us, but as a response to an attack by Trump on your countries. I used to wonder how Hitler was able to convince so many to follow him. We have seen exactly the same behavior by Americans, today, who follow Trump. It’s sad, and it’s disgusting.

In response to Gen. Wesley Clark - The only sense that it makes is that Putin wants the USA to sever strong ties to its enemies.
2025-03-04 0
As an American I am so sorry for the pathetic acts of that man who isn't my president. He has the job and he's fucking it up properly. I am sorry. We are sorry. We will make up for this in the future and history will hold the asshole responsible. Again I'm sorry. We don't want this. They don't listen and our elected representatives are underpowered and weak to fix things.\n\nAre you guys taking American political refugees yet? I'm ready to come north.

Trump is going to BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PEOPLE DYING IN HOSPITALS AND NURSING HOMES . NO ELECTRICITY IN HOSPITALS, THINK ABOUT IT . INCUBATORS ITS VERY SERIOUS
2025-03-04 0
Quite an intellectual and civilized response even to an incompetence ape???
2025-03-04 0
trudeau is the most corrupted PM in Canadian History. He is solely responsible for destroying Canada. A Marxist dictator. President Trump is the greatest leader in the free world. Unmatched

We deeply respect and value our neighbors to the North and South. While we understand these tariffs will impact all consumers, as Americans, we acknowledge that Canada and Mexico's responses are a direct result of policy decisions beyond their control. My hope is that in a not so far off future, we can repair our everlasting relationships and continue to thrive united as partners.

10:40 whether or not Trudeau is in office is not going to change anything. There's about a hundred other people that you could pick a fight with instead of Canada. \n\n\nYou'd probably be in everyone's interest if you just took responsibility for your own fiscal mismanagement. We are not your de facto piggy bank.
2025-03-04 0
Please president Trudeau ? \nI am not part of this war. Mr Trump and Vance are responsible not us abeg o! That man no get sense...I no vote for am abeg o biko have mercy ?

Respect for the manly response, Canada! ♥
2025-03-04 0
I don’t blame Trump. The American people were given power through voting to decide who takes over leadership of this country. The voters who chose Trump, are ultimately, responsible for whatever mess we are in.

How I wish Justin Trudeau continue as the Canadian prime minister good man and good response to that idiot called Donald Trump.

Thank you for a great strong response to the Felon of the US (FOTUS ). I am American and ashamed of this irresponsible irrational man. We love Canada, have relatives there and we are planning a summer trip to our good neighbor and trust me we will buy Canadian when we are there.

Hey Republicans, you are now are on call! Do something about your boy Trump or you each will pay dearly! He is obviously purposely trying to wreck our country and it your collective responsibility to do something to fix this problem! Trump has shown us, all Americans, that President Biden, was a better alternative than you in every aspect. You will go down and we, the people will collectively make sure you pay for your crimes! Moreover, any Republican politicians who aid you will go down with you. We, the American people, “will make America Great Again!

Trust Trudeau i think not, we still remember your dictator type response at the Truck protest
2025-03-04 0
Well stated Prime Minister. Appreciate the strategic, surgical response to this attack on our country by the American President & his republican minions. Putin 1, America & Canada 0.

Couldn't make the March Forth rally today, took down by a migraine. Bad one too. \nI've been trying to get a doctor to fix my lower jaw bone, likely with a bone graft, as my left lower jaw is disintegrating and being reabsorbed by my body's auto immune response. \nI just got word today that with the pending cuts to Medicare, that I will likely have to pay for this procedure myself, to the tune of over $150,000 plus dentures, rehab, etc. \nThank you Amerika, I'm going to lose my face, and likely my housing, my food assistance, my SSDI, and quite likely my very life, because greedy billionaires own your ignorance.

Canada’s Retaliation Against the Smoot-Hawley Tariff (1930)\nOne of the most immediate and severe retaliatory responses to the Smoot-Hawley Tariff came from Canada, which was heavily dependent on trade with the United States. Canada was the largest export market for U.S. goods at the time, and when the U.S. imposed high tariffs on Canadian imports, Canada responded with its own punitive tariffs on American products.\n\nBackground: U.S.-Canada Trade Before Smoot-Hawley\nIn 1929, about 75% of Canadian exports went to the U.S.\nCanada was also a major supplier of lumber, wheat, cattle, and minerals to American markets.\nThe two economies were deeply intertwined, and Canada had traditionally followed a low-tariff trade policy with the U.S.\nCanada’s Response: Retaliatory Tariffs (1930)\nPrime Minister R.B. Bennett responded to Smoot-Hawley by raising tariffs on American goods, specifically targeting products from the U.S. Midwest and industrial centers.\nCanada increased tariffs on over 16 U.S. goods, including:\nFarm machinery\nAutomobiles\nFruits and vegetables\nTextiles\nThese tariffs redirected Canadian trade away from the U.S. and toward Britain and other Commonwealth nations, under a new imperial preference system.\nEconomic Consequences\nFor the United States:\n❌ Sharp decline in U.S. exports to Canada\n\nU.S. exports to Canada dropped by 55% between 1929 and 1932.\nAmerican automobile and farm equipment industries suffered severe losses.\nMany Midwest farmers, who had relied on Canadian sales, went bankrupt.\n❌ Loss of a major trading partner\n\nCanada sought alternative suppliers in Britain, Australia, and other Commonwealth nations.\nThis permanently weakened U.S.-Canada economic ties, forcing the U.S. to reconsider its trade policies.\nFor Canada:\n✅ Diversification of Trade\n\nCanada strengthened trade ties with Britain and other Commonwealth countries.\nCanadian exports to Britain increased, helping Canada avoid complete economic collapse.\n❌ Short-term economic pain\n\nWhile Canada successfully retaliated, the tariffs raised prices for Canadian consumers.\nThe Canadian economy still suffered from the global depression, but it recovered faster than the U.S. by diversifying trade.\nLong-Term Impact\nPermanent Shift in Canadian Trade Policy\n\nCanada moved away from dependence on the U.S. and pursued closer economic ties with Britain.\nThis weakened U.S. economic influence in Canada for decades.\nRepeal of Smoot-Hawley and the Start of U.S. Trade Liberalization\n\nThe failure of Smoot-Hawley contributed to the Reciprocal Trade Agreements Act (1934) under Franklin D. Roosevelt, which lowered tariffs and encouraged bilateral trade deals.\nU.S.-Canada trade eventually recovered, but the economic damage lasted for years.\nConclusion\nThe U.S. intended to protect its industries, but Smoot-Hawley backfired by provoking Canada’s retaliation. This case study highlights how tariffs can damage relationships with key trading partners, disrupt industries, and reduce exports, ultimately harming the economy.

Firm response, diplomacy and tact, all provinces have to support including the PC controlled far right Alberta, if they don't want their life style returned to hillbilly status, its unfortunate that Justin Trudeau is leaving politics at a crucial time
2025-03-04 0
Trudeau‘s response doesn’t look anything like somebody that wants to work with us. He just turned a tariff that was aimed at creating some equality behind our trades into a trade war not Trump we will own Canada soon enough now because of Trudeau’s terrible response
2025-03-04 0
Waiting for Trumps response to this. Attacking Trump is a very bad idea ?
2025-03-04 0
This is not a trade war. This is recouping the money that other country's owe us. PAY WHAT YOU OWE OR PAY THE TARRIF. IT'S SIMPLE.WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR COUNTRY
2025-03-04 0
You're too late, Trudeau. You should have responded back in November. When Trump mentioned it, but you decided to go hiding.\nNow it's your fault.Nobody else to blame but you\nAs a canadian, I am totally disgusted with your response to this!!
