Canada does not have the resources to welcome anymore asylum seekers. There’s already too much strain on the system…such as housing, healthcare and employment.

The migrants will find a way into Canada because of the government's weak leadership. I was born and raised in Montréal, Québec, and I am still living there. I work as an employment counselor and many asylum seekers (from Haiti, Guinea, Nigeria, Ghana, Algeria, Morocco, Burkina Faso, Senegal, etc.) come to my office (on average 15 per week). Between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024, approximately 300 asylum seekers came to my workplace. An overwhelming majority of them are receiving welfare and living in hotels, at tax payers expense, while homelessness remains an issue in the city. Canadians should be taken care of first!

Regular Americans will make it their business to report any employer or illegal to ice got the message?..

Employment challenges, how about every job is taken up by the overflow of east Indians. Try looking for just a basic job, oh no 50% is paid by the government.

Since the Canadian government thinks we Canadians born in Canada are all criminals, without a trial in a court of law to determine this, the Canadian government wants to replace us all with brown immigrants mostly from Iran. I guess the crime rate in Iran must be the lowest in the world. That's why most of the immigrants coming into Canada are Iranian. I am currently unemployed and am always the first to get fired while my brown coworkers from Iran remain employed. I really think it's time for affirmative action for Canadians born in Canada. I am getting tired of living with my parents at the age of 55.

I actually glad that the Liberal Government is finally listening and closing the gates on this very Misguided Program. Indo South Asians have found all sorts of loopholes to Undermine our systems----the immigration application system, cyber fraud, education & training programs, rental housing and employment exploitation.

I think Trump should also guard the u.s./Canadian border so migrtes cannot arrive in to our Canada. We have no more housing or employment for more illegal people.

I’m Native American and I say deport her. Yes, I’m entitled to my opinion. I’m a citizen and my people have been here for thousands of years. And, my people have been fighting for this nation even before we were considered citizens ourselves. We were employed by the U.S. Military to serve as Scouts (fighting against our own people to help the U.S. conquer-hint hint). Our languages were used to help win WWII and we have the highest enlistments by ethnic group. Most undocumented people I know are cool and they pay their dues and don’t want any problems. Not just businesses but farmers and individuals who employ and use these illegals should pay a fine and have their “help” kicked out. Fines for the use of these peopel by citizens will be one way to pay for the deportations. Close the southern border off for the first 6 months of 2025.

First Trump's administration is going to be jacked up with little known outliers with controversial and radical ideas. That is what Trump is attracted to. His ideas of tariffs and mass deportations are deplorable. They both disadvantage the US instead making it better. However, the tariffs may as well be a scam to get companies profits as when Trump says 10% on item A, companies are going to raise the cost of item A 12 to 15% or so and blame the cost increase on tariffs. For deportation's, I hope most people realize that many working the fields as low wage labor are very well illegals, but they are hired because they keep food costs low. Raising all prices for the poor Republicans will not be beneficial because prices on goods can increase 15% or more but their employer is certainly not going give them a 15% raise to match the cost of living. So Trump has already made the business environment good for more profits by planning to make life more expensive for everyone so business can absorb the additional profits. Probusiness politicians help businesses make money and that money comes from households and the government. And making the government spend more means the government needs to tax more. But TRump is cutting taxes for the people that have the most money. And Trump raising prices with tariffs justs makes households poorer and business richer. Naturally, the stock market will record highs when all the indicators are that business will be making much greater profits from households when Trump takes office.

Charge and imprison every person in America that employs an illegal immigrant. Jobs for the working class will soar. They will also pay more because you don't have 20 illegals building a house in 2 weeks!

The penalty for Illegals should be financial, not removal. I don't think we should limit the number of immigrants, full stop. Yes, they need to get paperwork to be here, and that should be part of the process. If you're illegal, come forward and get the paperwork to be here, then pay restitution by an added 5% tax every year moving forward for every year you were here illegally.\n\nRemoving even 5M undocumented citizens creates an employment vacuum that will hurt our economy. Why hurt our economy when you can boost our economy through billions of extra tax revenue.

But remember that the American economy relies heavily on foreign labour so the process of dealing with illegal immigrants needs to include dramatically increasing the number of immigration officials to get the productive, employed illegals some kind of legal status. The import tariffs are going to cause inflation. Taking away productive workers will further inflate prices.\n\nThen, of course, there’s the illegal immigrants who are entrepreneurs like Elon Musk. Washington Post reports, and Elon’s brother confirmed, that they entered the US illegally although they do now have legal status in the US. Elon had a student visa to do graduate studies at Stanford but he never signed up for a single course. Instead he created a startup. So he didn’t comply with his student visa and he was working illegally. Quite the hypocrite. Should Elon Musk be deported for his illegal entry back in the 1990s? There’s no evidence he committed any other crimes so perhaps not. But if not, then just treat all the illegals with the same consideration.

They have legally asked for asylum and they are awaiting their asylum hearings in immigration court. TRUMP can’t touch those. In Texas, many of these people have their 1st immigration court hearings in 2027 & 2028!! It usually takes at least 2 years to get to “trial,” then if you lose, you have 2 appeals and each appeal can take 2-3 years.\n\nEven the criminal aliens they pick up will be entitled to have their day in immigration court. This is nothing new. Bush and Obama deported millions of criminal aliens!! Criminal aliens have always been deported. This has never stopped, regardless of who’s the president. Look up ICE detention facilities. You have 2 big ones in California, Otay Mesa & Calexico; in Arizona it’s Florence & Eloy; in Texas it’s Harlingen. They’ve been operating before & during the Biden administration.\n\nAnd wait till businesses & employers start complaining. ?. You can end illegal immigration tomorrow. Order all employers to get all illegals a visa or lay them off and hire a US citizen and give them 45 days to do that. If the employer does not do it heavily fine them. Employers who hire them are criminals.

Turning up the pressure on those that employ illegals has been going on for decades. Most illegals can easily get paperwork that can easily get past small business’ vetting.

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. Deporting all “illegals” means eliminating about 7.5 million jobs the economy absolutely requires, which nobody else will do. And going after employers does that job even faster. Why do we need detention camps? Once an illegal gets caught by ICE, then bring them directly to the border and just send to the other-side of the border wall. That’s it. If this keeps going on, then numerous illegals will leave the country by their own. Also, ICE should raid the employment companies, stores, gas stations, and all possible illegal employment facilities very frequently to not only catch the illegals but also to charge a big amount of penalties to those employers. This will fund the deportation costs and tightening the illegal surviving in US will diminish this illegal flow. This process happened in past after the twin towers attacks. The republican administration knows very well how to push back the illegals.

Canada has limited capacity re: housing, health care, employment and the taxpayer cannot bear this burden . Trudeau and his”friends” can house, feed, cloth the migrants - their personal decision, their personal expense.
