There is an affluence threshold which would determine whether or not a Canadian should move Stateside. It is probably easier to do business in the U.S. IF you are able to become independently wealthy or if you make 80k+ with all the benefits, then it would make sense to move Stateside. Below a certain affluence threshold, stay in Canada.\nNote: there has been an epidemic of gun violence in the Greater Toronto Area. However, it is easier to procure guns in the U.S..

Canadian here. What I would like to visit the US for is the land. Yes we have incredible landscapes here, but since the land doesn't miraculous change at the border, the US has some great sights. I think you got the point about us being worried about guns. That's a topic you have briefly discussed in some of your videos but I think you could benefit from diving into that topic more. Canada is not immune to gun violence, however when something like a school shooting happens, it makes national news. In the US, that's just called nightly news.

essentially, the only benefit is a greater income for some fields. But even if you are in one of those fields you need to weigh how important that increase in pay is versus all of the negatives. The two biggest ones would be healthcare (if you aren't making enough extra money to outweigh the extra costs, then it's pointless) and safety (which all depends on the individual and their circumstances, like if you have a family, or you would be the target of racial attacks)

This kind of thing is why housing is so unaffordable now. Though, what people don't understand, is how American policy has made it impossible for some countries in South America to have a stable government or economy. Any time a regime has threatened US profits, usually by making policies that benefit their own people first, we have their leader assassinated, the party eliminated and replaced by dictators and despots friendly to corporate interests. They are fleeing the extreme poverty and violence in regions we intentionally destabilized. This essentially boils down to our own government refusing to harvest our own resources, in favor of exploiting poorer countries.

It doesn't work that way for patients who are not in contact with reality.\n\nNow we add extreme drugs (crack, meth, heroine, ketamine, whatever they hand out at parties, etc) and severe cases of PTSD/PTSS. It's obscene that we have veterans on the streets.\n\nHeath care--?. Pre Obamacare it wasn’t terrible but medicine had become a CYA project. We are so litigious (side eye to John Edwards ) that doctors practice defensive medicine and carry high limit malpractice insurance (guess who pays for that?). Every decision is driven by avoiding lawsuits, not proper patient care.\n\nPost Obamacare, US health care is an unmitigated disaster at every level. We’re short on doctors, too. Many quit and students are losing interest—medicine won’t pay enough anymore to justify $500K in loans.\n\nWe could repeal every bit of Obamacare tomorrow and still not be able to fix it. The leviathan grew tentacles that released toxins into every nook and cranny of the system. Now that they have buried themselves in critical layers, it would be impossible to yank them out.\n\nI have a good PCP who is booked 6-8 weeks out. Specialists? Hah. GI, neuro, and derm? Nor can we claim to have eliminated racism. That takes time; it cannot be done by force.\n\nOur economy went from smokin hot to dumpster fire in a short span of time. Pre election, head hunters were shaking the trees to find job candidates.\n\nOur unemployment is up as are our taxes with the stomping out of the tax cuts. \n\nDespite the endless sloganeering about how the Trump tax cuts only benefited “rich” people, it’s quite the opposite.\n\nHigh earners lost their pet deductions and lower income taxpayers were quite pleasantly surprised when they did their returns. The cuts were targeted to preserve wealth for the middle and lower classes.\n\nI could go on for another 100 pages but you get the idea and I get crabby writing for free.\n\nI will leave you with the caution that it’s best if you doubt and question any data and any stats coming from our government. Those are seldom legit. If the data comes from a study, always look to see who paid for it. And how large the sample size was; how were the participants selected? If too many Mexicans come over construction will be done too fast and there will be more houses made and then house prices will drop and this can't happen because I'm rich and I benefit off of limited housing. Stay a distance from what America wants. Losing character of its own country will lose the benefit of its foreign relationship with others. Make good decision for business, import and export with others. We have no additional saving to play world politics game. Make your own ways to exchange business developments and ideas. Our current government is responsible for this. Our country has record debt, yet people have a belief that if they make here from anywhere then they can stay and have benefits & housing given to them. All because the Biden administration hasn't put a stop to it.

Nations competing for power and status has been what the history of the world has been mostly about. There are those that are obsessed with competition and are willing to die for power and status. This is the strongest motivation for the innovation, production and exchange of goods and services and is also why the best competitors cannot trust each other and feel the need to deceive, fool, cheat, spy and lie to each other and causes them to build weapons that can basically kill most of the life on this planet and damage most of the environment that can sustain life. \n \nMany nations are comfortable with their lower levels of power and status performance and do not think allocating more resources to move up the ladder will be of much benefit. \n \nPresently, if the economy is not growing, it is considered a failure. This type of thinking cannot go on uninterrupted on a finite planet with finite resources. There needs to be flexibility in the system for the economy to expand and contract and for a contraction to be considered normal and not a problem or a failure. The contraction needs to be just as prosperous and productive as the expansion. For this type of thinking to work, there needs to be some new economic theories and models developed along with some new types of money and financial systems based on economic sustainability not on economic growth and money inflation. \n \nI am sure there will be some Nobel prizes awarded to the academics, economists, corporate CEO's and business leaders and of course politicians and government officials that can figure out how to make a sustainable economy work and how not to devalue the nation’s money in the process.\n \nThe way this can begin and improve peace and fairness at the same time is when our business and government leaders along with our brightest and smartest among us including the most wealthy among us can learn to be much more truthful, honest and trustworthy and can start to understand that the wellbeing of others benefits everyone and is the bases for morality.

Well the governments of Canada have made it illegal for us to express our views. As a white English Canadian I don't think most of us hate people because they came from abroad. If people came to Canada and actually became Canadians I don't think 90% of people have an issue with that. The problem is people are coming here and are not assimilating. Especially the people from Asian and African nations. But this is not surprising to me because their culture is so different from ours. I would prefer immigrants came from northern Europe especially the British Isles and France due to having a shared history, values, and culture similar to Canada. \n\nThe other issue is mass immigration mostly only benefits wealthy people because they get cheap labour. People coming from countries with a much lower standard of living are used to earning less and living with less so they depress wages for working people here. The so called skilled immigrants that our government tells us will solve all of our nations problems are not. No one recognizes their skills here so they end up taking jobs away from other Canadians. \n\nI think Canada's solution would be to stop relying on foreigners and invest in Canadian people. I would cut immigration levels by 75%. I would limit immigrant applicants to make up only 5% from one country. Also we should only allow Canadian citizens to own property. Dual citizenship should be eliminated. You should only be loyal to Canada. \n\nThe government should also stop spending money on Black lives Matter, criminals, drug addicts, and other socialist non-sense. Government spending and taxes should be cut in half and free enterprise should be encouraged. We should be using money towards infrastructure and education. We should be training Canadians to become engineers, doctors, and skilled tradesmen. I would rather invest in our own people that try to accommodate foreigners.

It sounds to me that you're 1st generation transplanties therefore just like any fruit generation transplanting you'll have to find your way you work so your kids can benefit from it you expect to just come and repair everything you can't it doesn't make sense what you need to do is wrong communities on the suburbs and for me a community the Chinese do it the Indians do it And probably save some money from all that weave on your head

If you want to be an entrepreneur and make things that change the world. then USA is better like for Engineers and Entrepreneur etc. In Canada is more for peoples who want take the benefits and get out of there after they have the Canada passport, bachelor degree and educate there childrens. Great video - it's true my family came here 20 years ago and I'm greateful but it certainly is expensive. \n\nThe type of employment you have makes a big difference - I'm a big fan of people applying for government to take advantage of the benefits - especially at retirement - and then having a side hustle. \n\nI'm looking to help people set themselves up for the long term and being a position to afford cost of living and comfortably raising a family in Canada. It's a rat race where the government benefits the most out of immigrants as they will earn huge amounts of taxes. Rather one should focus on how to achieve financial freedom through financial literacy in their own country. Only then one can achieve peace of mind and financial freedom. I was born in Montreal and lived there for 64 years. I'm fluently bilingual. I speak English and French. My mother was French and my father was English. I was educated in English. Because of my work, I had travelled extensively and often throughout all of Canada and had seen it all except for Nunavut and the NorthWest Territories. Having stated that, I couldn't wait to get out of Quebec. Starting in the early 70's, I couldn't stand living in Quebec but I tolerated it because I was doing well financially and it didn't make sense to relocate. The Quebec government introduced stupid and restrictive language laws back then. That drove a lot of business and English-speaking people out of the province. There was a real economic decline in that province that lasted many years but luckily hadn't affected my business. Most of the people that left Montreal moved to Toronto. Toronto benefitted from that exodus as they became the financial capital of Canada. I have resided in BC's Okanagan Valley for the last 7 years. It's the best move I've ever made. I have never regretted moving here. This is by far, the #1 province in Canada.

Not only international students but also the local Canadian are suffering too with lack of jobs. There are hardly any houses available for the citizens, to make things worst these international students are overwhelming the situation. Its a loss from both sides, only those colleges and goverment are benefiting

So true. We are so heavily taxed here in Canada, especially Quebec. The government has so much money in the bank that they kept overdoing those street roads, highway and even bike path again and again. They are wasting our money more than ever. And more than ever, there' s also a lot of homeless people on the street , because they'd use that kind of excuses not to give them their unemployment insurance benefits after loosing their job , but would force them to get welfare assistance instead. where the money is barely enough to pay for their monthly groceries and that`d leave them to make a choice between their rents or to go hungry.

That's exactly what makes Canada so speacial! There's no such inequality that creates such violence, proverty we see around the world. When the taxes are used in the benefits of the entire society, this is a good thing!

Taxes are meant to run the country's affaires but people are just mean. You love it when you are broke and are able to benefit free services from the government but when you start making some money and are asked to contribute so that the country can keep up with all it's programs you start complaining. Come back to Africa, there is always a trade-off. No good service and less taxes. Just keep in mind that Africa not developing is our choice otherwise the cost of development is that, in a way ( higher taxes and government's direct control over people's affaires). I thank God anyway that you people can complain of better living condition but I would rather get busy working hard in Canada than not finding a decent job in Africa or bare the cold whether than sleeping hungry in Africa. While not staying that you would be in the worst conditions in Africa, I want you appreciate what you have and remember one truth, so many people in Africa would wish to be in your position. Anyway, you are welcome home. There's still a place for you all. Come help us change our continent for the better.

What people fail to understand is that the grass is always greener on the other side...until you get there and realise that its just different shades of green. There are so many benefits to living in Africa. And there are benefits to living in western countries too. If you like jobbing (being an employee), saving for retirement and having a stable government to protect your investment or give you welfare benefits and having free healthcare and generally living a risk-free life, then abroad is for you. There are downsides though - while you have good roads and healthcare, you can hardly save, your mental health is on the line, you probably will have no social life, the genetically modified food, polluted air, chemicalized everything will cut your life span down. You can be an enterpreneur but the taxes alone, the regulation, etc can discourage you. \n\nIn Africa, there are security concerns but the same security concerns exist in all countries, only they differ in their nature. In Africa, I can grow my food, I can build my house according to my budget (no mortgage), I can start a business any day, i can feed on little money ( you can find markets that sell cheap food produce). And most importantly for me, the health factor - organic food, family and friends to help with your mental health and laugh and cry with you as the occasion demands. \n\nAnd now the icing on the cake - you can make the same dollar you make abroad from your country! So many online platforms to be a freelancer, to work for companies and individuals abroad. So you are making the same money and not drowning in taxes, in high rents, insurance fees and you can afford top-notch healthcare, even better than what you can get abroad. \n So it's up to you. Stop believing that abroad is better. it's not actually. I swore I wouldn't raise a child in London because of the high rate of knife crimes on the streets and the government' s lax attitude towards it because such crimes involve black kids. I never felt such fear in Africa. To each his own. My African shade of green works well for me. Abeg

You don't get a reward or a claim for car insurance unless you get in accident ffs. If you (who ever feels this way) don't see the benefit of paying these bills, nigeria would love to have you guys back I'm sure. High cost of living? Isn't it the same in Lagos? And there an no amenities? Taxes? The good roads you drive your car on, the hospitals etc, they don't just appear magically - do they? Boring? Make friends, try new sports, travel to new places (within and outside Canada), explore, get a job(so at least you have somewhere to go? Home sick? Grow up or go home - period!! There are minority groups in nigeria too (I come from a minority group in nigeria and its a similar feeling). Nobody moves you to a retirement home (compulsorily) if you have family and your family can care for you.

So the system is such that when you get in, all the free benefits is paid by someone hence, it's a circle. When you make so much, you have to plough it back into the system to help other people.

To keep people from making cash they don’t pay taxes on.\nIn truth, I am grateful that my Mom’s surgery for her heart and cancer treatment were paid for with tax money.\nI am good with taxes as long as it means everyone gets free healthcare BUT it should also pay for a lot more healthcare staffing.

My sisters Canada is still a good country compare to Nigeria where there is no good infrastructural facility, power and security of lives and properties. Look at how organized the government is compare to Nigeria where there is no. accountability. Tell me what is working where we came from. Right now ASSU on strike, government establishments getting moribund everyday. People immigrate from one place to place to better their lives. A lot of people will prefer Canada to Nigeria in-spite of these shortcomings. You can easily walk yourself up right there in Canada. I don’t see much difference between living in Canada and US. If you don’t want to pay taxes you can relocate to Nigeria and make your cool money and no one will come after your wealth. If you live in any part of the world and you don’t want to pay taxes but want to benefit from the facilities built with tax payers money that is corruption. That is my thought

I was born in Quebec, I grew up there, studied, worked, lived almost all my life, except for a few years in Toronto and Ottawa for studies and work, where I never really felt at home, but like in a foreign country. I love Quebec, its history, its culture, its language, its way of life and Quebecers in general. I get used to its climate, its six months or so of winter, but still with nice, hot summers. I also put up with the high cost of living due to the multiple taxes to be paid, the highest in North America, which means that, paradoxically, it still costs less to live here than elsewhere in Canada and to the social safety net Quebecers benefit and which is the envy of many citizens elsewhere in the country. The shadow on the board: the hostility and racism of English Canada, including most Anglophones in Quebec and the allophones who join this recalcitrant community towards Quebec and Francophones in general, the ambient wokism, the complacency of the mayor of Montreal, Valérie Plante, who has transformed the city into a huge bike path, Justin Trudeau's hypocrisy regarding Quebec legislation for the protection of language and secularism, which he intends to challenge before the Supreme Court of the country . If I weren't so attached to Quebec, these would be the main reasons that would make me leave Quebec, but to go where, like the wandering Canadian of song, banished from his homeland... Where? Any informed suggestions?

Trust me I’m a Canadian Citizen I’m moving out from Canada. Life in Canada is not easy nor happy life as you thought especially for those whom come with nothing it will be very hard and will be struggling to make the end needs . Even though I’m a working middle class I’m still struggling and the system benefit it’s not as the world sees In perceptions . Enough see you USA much better more opportunities ???????
