Lived in Alberta for 3 years. I think something must have happened\n Pretty sure it wouldn't rank anywhere nears as high now. Nor would the school ranking.

BCer here. I've lived in Victoria BC on Vancouver island most of my life. Personally I do not like flat landscapes. I feel happier living near the ocean and the mountains. I have never lived in any other province but I have lived in Dublin and London UK. This is home for me and I feel extremely lucky. The cost of living here is EXTREMELY expensive and that is by far the biggest problem because we just keep getting overrun with wealthy people from other places who generally suck.

I am genuinely surprised that Quebec ranked so high, because I'm from there and I've always had plenty of empirical evidence telling me otherwise. The income is meh, the education system is meh, health care is super meh, taxes are mega-meh to the point that they cause brain-drain, and the nightlife is incredibly meh (unless you're in downtown Montreal). I'm glad the province looks good on paper, but it really doesn't reflect my 40-plus years living here (or near).

Canada is NOT a good country to live in. \nThe last 30+ years between the constant increases in taxation. The criminally high cost of housing, high cost of commodities, i.e. food, clothing, fuel, utilities, and since we are now suffering from the ineptitude of Justin trudeau, more and more canadians are looking to leave the country, myself included, for the sake of our financial wellbeing, our peace of mind, and reprieve from the seemingly endless cycle of hurry up and wait for healthcare needs, personal matters, and dealing with multi tiered, multi layered government regulations for nearly everything. I personally have contacted consulates general of 12 different nations from the EU to the pan Asian region as well as the US, and will not be living in Canada by summers end 2022. Besides, if Canada was to do a complete 180 on its economic and political directions it will take a generation or more to correct what has been systematically dismantled over the course of the last 30 to 40 years.\n\nTo a university educated, well to do successful entrepreneur and skilled multi trades professional, such as myself, its NOT worth waiting for...

lol Quebec oh give it a break. Nobody moves to Quebec willingly only people who move to Quebec are new Canadian refugees they leave soon after. It 's a high tax high corruption province. Ask any Canadian\n Quebec would rank near the bottom . If you are going to live in Canuckistan , Alberta specifically the Calgary area is the best place to live with the brightest future.

And the territories has the benefit of being absolutely gorgeous in the summer and a lake everywhere you look. The city of Yellowknife alone touches 8 lakes. Additionally -40 isn’t bad, just stay inside. And if you go to high school in the NWT and then move back you get student loans payed off, I believe there are similar things in Yukon and Nunavut. Anyways the territories beat living down in Ontario or Quebec any day

I do love Canada , it was my first love moving from poor, war ravaged country in Vietnam. But it is no longer the country that I used to know. I've lived mostly in Vancouver and Toronto and I can tell you,If you got a family and you're not making 10-15k/month, feesl like you're just scraping by. Tdot was good when I moved there in 1984,TTC rides and cup of coffee used to be just a quarter and houses were just about 100k on average. Now its almost impossible to live near the core of the city to buy a house unless ure making high six figure or move out to smaller cities like Brantford or Windsor to buy one. Not only that but nothing is letting up here, food , insurance, gas ,taxes we gettin hosed to death here. After 40 years here, think Ive seen enough,Im cashing out my house in Vancouver, shipping out to Eastern Europe to retire.

What was the point of this…\nBOOK?\n\nMy favourite provinces (not ranking) are Ontario, Alberta, BC, Quebec, and Nova Scotia. \n\nOntario for the history, the world records, *(longest street on earth at least at one point, tallest tower in North America, Toronto most multicultural city, etc.)* and the terrain/coolness of Ontario- the big cities, surprisingly safe, the good weather some places, the icy terrain near Hudson Bay, and pretty nice forests.\n\nAlberta for the coolness aswell, the big cities Calgary and Edmonton are pretty great, and the mountains are awesome, the oil is useful, the lakes are great- and yeah the great, safe place to live overall.\n\nBC for the amazing mountains too, the islands, Vancouver is SO amazing just seeing a picture of it, its unique that a big city is spread across so many islands, and the pacific- \n? oh I do like to be beside the sea side ? \nAnd BC has great forests like Ontario. Just- take in mind that it’s the only province with grizzly bears. (Alberta might idk)\n\nQuebec for the history, (all the history is in Quebec City)\nAnd the great terrain, it looks amazing- they have a lot of Great Lakes (wait Ontario has more, in fact all of those) and even just it’s one big city, Montreal. For the biggest province it’s got just one big city but it is _huge._ and Montreal is a great sight to see. Big city- and stuff. (I’ve been writing too much) oh also French…. Stuff.\n\nNOVA SCOTIA IS GOOD BC well Halifax is pretty freakin sweet and the Atlantic is a great sight as well as in Newfoundland and warmest in PEI. Oh and Nova Scotia is cool bc it holds record for find of the worlds largest lobster on its shore. ? \nIt has some nice villages too but I like the seaside the best out of any province there I think.

Moving to and leaving a country is easiest in the early part of your life, under 35. I would move to Australia if I were a lot younger. The cost of living is high, just like in Canada, but at least the weather is near perfect where I stay there. As for business or commerce, Canada is a backward country.

Ranking Quebec above PEI is a crime. This is coming from an Ontarian who has travelled to the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic on a motorcycle. I have seen nearly all of Canada. Yukon, BC, Alberta, Sask, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and PEI. Trust me there are many provinces that are better than Quebec. \n\nI have been all over BC and I must say BC is the most aesthetic province. When I was travelling and camping there it made me question why people willingly live in places like Toronto... you are spending the same $$$ for rent or mortgage except in BC you get the view of the Rockies.

Ranking the best provinces to live in bases on statistics only misses the mark on what actual Canadians think.\nFor example if you were to poll people from across the nation, I’m very certain, Quebec wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of the list as best province to live in, especially considering their politics!!

After nearly 13 years as of Jan 1st 2022, I'll be leaving Canada on a one-way ticket; not to my country of origin, but further into new ventures.\n\nIt's been a slog to become a citizen and try and make life work here. It's a good place to be successful financially if you make sound choices, and then to live a fairly quiet, isolated life. If all you want is to live within your own ethnic community and have a better quality of life, it's a good place.\n\nUnfortunately, it's never had enough culture or meaning for me. Life feels pretty empty no matter how much money you make. The national identity being based around home-ownership feels extremely depressing to me.\n\nAnd you're both on point about the reserved, passive-aggressive nature of Canadians. I've become like that too now. It's pretty obvious that it costs us dearly; people are unable to be genuinely warm, to take risks and form real friendships. Everything feels surface-level because no one risks taking the steps that might even be a bit of intrusion into each other's lives that is the signal of the start of a close friendship. I do not mean to be negative here but anyone of you who is well settled outside Canada, don't come to Canada!, unless you want to do labor work. I know people who have done Masters in Software engineering are working in a Pizza shops. If there is one job opening there are 10 thousand applicants for the same job. Companies showing fake jobs to satisfy govt. pressures. Automated refusals replies of your job applications are common.\n People get hired on sources and within companies. Racism exists, results are killings every now and then. Go and watch news channels like CP24. Thieves are here. Things do get stolen. Recently mass graves are found near schools in multiple areas of small children of indigenous people who were tortured and killed by white supremacy in the past. Every region have different rules and regulations and policies. I moved to Niagara region and they charged me $200 deposit for water $200 deposit for hydro plus monthly bills separate. $1800 to $2000 is the rent of one bed apartment. Burlington where he lives has $2800 to $3000 rent monthly for a house. Go check online! Price of buying a home is in millions of dollars. Go check real estate.

I'm sure the intent of this video was to be fun, buts as a Canadian I would like people to know that it's not always cold here. We have four seasons. Most of the population lives in cities that are near the border with the US and have very similar climates to the northern states below them. Please don't believe that you need to wear your toque (see what I did there) in the summer.

This may surprise a lot of people, but Canada is also more ethnically diverse in daily living than the USA... and by a lot. Nearly every grocery store in Canada has an ethnic section.... try finding that in the US... sure, they have it, but you have to really look... not so in Canada.

Its funny when they bring up pot and say that it benefits whites when in reality its not. Come to the rez were I live near and you will see so many pot shops but when a white person wants to open one up in the city its a big deal. And the government won't allow them to open up a shop. Its unbelievable how people are so blind to see that the true racism in Canada is not between white or black but between French and English. You get paid more if you know French, its mandatory to learn French in a city that maybe has ten french canadians, look at how much more Quebec gets represented, if Quebec does not like something then it never happens, Quebec can ban people from wearing religious icons that are not catholic yet the government allows this. You may not like it but its true its all about the big cities and Quebec here in Canada.

In 2007, I called a property manager in Vancouver about renting an apartment, she told me that there's no vacancy. I was really interested in living in that area. After a few days, I called this building again. This time a South Asian women replied that they have an apartment available. I rented an apartment in that building. I found out that the building was owned by a South Asian family, but property managers were a Canadian couple. In 2012, I was looking for a rental apartment near Metrotown, Burnaby, BC. All property managers, refused me to rent in their buildings. They said they have no vacancy. I had never experienced such a blatant racism before that day.

Oh my god I live in England which is nearly one of the smallest country. its smaller than california but it has 20 million more residents then Canada\n\n\nOk i get it. And within a couple of centuries, it predominantly became a Christian continent even though Christianity at first was met with a lot of suspicion and mistrust among the pagans. Islam is now at a similar crossroad in the Western hemisphere. And does it matter what religion people follow in Europe or America? No. The French will still be French whether they worship God in a mosque or church. Im a Canadian citizen (born in Toronto) who hasn't lived in Canada for over a decade. I left and declared non-resident status. I visit nearly every summer, spending around $8-10k a trip as well as sending money back to support my parents in Ottawa. I get nothing from Canada, and rightly so. I have to purchase my own health insurance when coming back. That's completely okay with me because I haven't paid into the system for over 10 years. How in the hell is someone who hops over the border with no previous ties to Canada entitled to ANYTHING though? They should be shipped back to their country of origin and duties assessed on any imports from that country should be raised to cover those costs or some other method of recouping that money should happen.
