As a canadian, i have, as many american friends as i have canadian friends. I know very well that any educated and rational american is completely against that group of criminals that took over your beautiful country that i love so much, disguised as a political party for the time of the election. \n\nThere is either a Coup-d-etat, perpetrated by the current richest man in the world who WASN'T elected by americans, OR, a Self-Coup perpetrated by the current administration, replacing great american values and traditions with an unprecedented level racism and removing all diversity, equality and inclusion, sending the United States back to the Stone Age. The tariffs make sense from the position of trump being an ally with putin. trump is punishing countries that have supported Ukraine, thinking that if he weakens these countries with tarrifs, these same countries will turn inward and discontinue their support of Ukraine. I wonder how much putin has offered to pay trump if trump can strong arm Ukraine into ending the war, leaving russia with land stolen from Ukraine. Something stinks of corruption here.\nThank you for speaking from a place of power and truth Prime Minister Trudeau.

What would be interesting to know is how trade between Canada and Europe explodes, Europe would like all the oil and gas and rare earthminerals Canada has, so would China, if for nothing other than to prevent Americas access to it. I think trump and musk think russia will supply rare earth minerals on the cheap, but Russia is about to collapse again and various regions break away as they did last time, but this time is much worse than back then, Russia really could cease to exist and America will not benefit at all, Europe China India Mongolia will benefit. Russians hate america more than Americans hates Russia, America has been prosperous, while 40% of Russians don't have running water or electricity, yes the big cities and towns in the west are better off but most of Russia does not even have paved roads.\n\nTrump is backing his banker, and everyone knows it, pootin is using trump, very clearly shown when he set up President Zelensky in that ambush.\n\nEurope China and other countries will be in line to sign trade deals. I think it was clever of Trudeau to say what he did. And to set a few months before the massive cuts in trade with America as what the rapist president is doing, what republicans are doing will be biting very hard by then, and Canada cutting trade at that time will be possibly the straw that breaks trump.

Maybe we shouldnt spend BILLIONS of dollars for protection and dont get anything back. Is that fair? Trump and MAGA are fed up spending SOO Much money that has little or no benefit to us yes it will hurt for now, but we already spent 4 years in hell whats anouther1-2 years.

As an American that saw the writing on the wall 7 years ago and left, I thank you Mr. Trudeau. You, and Canada are very much respected, and the world listens. Hopefully, decent Americans will overthrow the tyrant that 50% of them voted him in. To say I am ashamed of the USA as it stands is AWAY underwhelming. Much respect from Portugal, and long live Canada.

Well done Mr. Trudeau, he is no longer Prime Minister of Canada. He can express his thoughts openly and honestly. Long-term, nobody will trust the USA after this. US voters cannot be allowed to destroy trade, democracy and peace worldwide. All Western democracies will work towards insulating themselves from US influence, and that will impact the standards of living inside the US. The US will have to ally with Arab, Russian & Chinese 'friends' to survive, and that will remove the US from any semblance of a country guided by human morals, much less, the Christian religion.

CNN should not be surprised at the antics of Von Shitzinpantz when they have chosen to give him so much airtime and benefit of the doubt to the monster that they helped to create. As much as I disagree with most of Trudeau’s domestic politics I must say that this was a good address and seems to be where he is strongest. With that said though I still would not vote liberal in the next election.

From Italy: if people like Trump, Putin, Erdogan, Orban and Meloni have so much space and have reached the position that occupy the problem is not them but who voted for them. If people think that these characters with their wicked decisions bring prosperity and peace, the biggest work must be done on the people who choose them, not on those who have been chosen. Canadians, hold on tight, stay with your back straight, continue to be what you always were, do not bend as many rich Americans have done and prone to the delirium of omnipotence of Trump. We Italians know well what it means to have such people in the seats of power and also how important it is that not everyone bends.

American here. I can't tell you how much I miss having a president that speaks like Trudeau. Instead we have a bunch of 4 year tantrum throwing toddlers. If there was ever a time to enact the 25th Amendment, this is it! Make no mistake, people. This is a much more serious action than many of us think it is. The rural parts of America, where people wear military style clothing, work out so much they have oversized body muscles, and style their head and facial hair so crazily, driving heavy duty trucks with anti -American government bumper stickers, they are the right wing domestic terrorists. In those mountainous rural counties you will come across poor grade roads with gates and chains at the entrance to hundreds of fortress compounds. The women are way too thin, often with frightened, glazed looks in their eyes. Both the men and women will give anyone a way too long piercing stare. They live too far away from any place to work so many of the carefully obscured building complexes, often jammed against sheer tall walls of rocks, have to be making something inside!

Over the decades, the dollars only fluctuated a few cents up, or down between Canada's dollar and America's dollar pretty much canada is like another state. To have a trade war with Canada is just stupid. There's no other way to put it stupid

We are less than two months into DJT's term, and I have to say it's turning out much worse than I expected (and I thought it would be pretty bad). It is terribly depressing to see the country fail while roughly half of it's people cheer it on. We're seeing the fall of the US in real-time, and I'm not sure how we come back from this. I'm exhausted, and we're just getting started.
