People think that Canada is racism free utopia and its not. People always want to talk about the US. And yes the US has a long way to go,but at least it's vocal. My mom used to say let me know right off the bat that you don't like me,don't be sneaky with it. Canada,the UK and western Europe always try to say that racism is an American problem. In my opinion, if not just because of long time waiting for ILR and housing issues in UK, I will always prefer UK to Canada. Canada will give you easy PR but even with the PR, it will still take many years to achieve your dream in your profession. UK ILR takes time but within those times you must have achieved what you want. Some people that relocated to UK as ordinary carer have become registered nurses even before they get their ILR. UK needs patience and at last you will be glad. The issue is that many people want it so fast. They prefer getting PR faster than growing in their profession. That's why they prefer Canada.

In Ontario Canada the healthcare industry is heavily marred in black racism! My sister was a Director of Care at 3 different long term care facilities over the last 9 years. The racism she felt was so bad that the WS are willing to destroy the reputation of the long term care facility and their own careers just do they could oppress my sister. My sister beat them all as she left the long term care and is now a pediatric consultant while the last place she left is now in chaos. Every long term care job she had the WS were getting her to do all of their work to a point where they did not know how to recover when my sister eventually left. Every long term care facility paid the heavy price when my sister walked out. I could make a video on this issue it’s so wicked the racism. At least my sister beat them all she is so smart. ??

As a black woman who is born and raise in Canada, Quebec (Montréal area), I can confirm what she said. It’s not only in Edmonton, Alberta. It’s all over the country! The only difference between USA and Canada is that Americans recognize there was slavery throughout the history. Canada completely erased the slavery part as if there was no black slaves and etc.

I'm FBA and I grew up in Toronto from the 60's until today and I can testify to what this sister is saying! In addition, over the years there are very few black Canadians from the Underground Railroad or decendants of slavery in Canada still in Ontario area and more black immigrants from the Caribbean and African Diaspora that walk off the boat with disdain for FBA! Most of these black immigrants that I grew up with think they are better than FBA and play right into white supremacy with bigotry, discrimination and disrespect. So, I have reestablished my roots in America, but I draw my pension, from 30 years of social service work and my free healthcare in Canada! White Supremacy is everywhere and so are the enemies of FBA even when they look like us! Dont ever forget it! B1 ?

If you wanna live in Canada my recommendation is BC. I have spent some time in BC, specifically Vancouver and Victoria and it was a pretty nice experience but I was warned about the midwest and eastern parts of Canada.

As a black person who grew up in Canada yes you experienced racism but I also have rules hang out with my own kind and I don't befriend white people whoever gives respect gets my respect and when I experienced racism I give them the same energy right back sometimes you got to be aggressive and demand your respect sucks but it's a reality keep your foot on their necks
