The united states' not the only country in the world go somewhere else to live

I'm a canadian who moved to a third world country 10 years ago. The usa was never on my list as a possible new home. In fact, it was on my list of countries to avoid. When I'm forced to fly through the usa, I never leave the airport. Recently, the usa has become much worse than my present home. Much worse!

Never would I ever move there. Move to a country with huge racial issues, gun issues, capitalism for health care and so on… Never. I also do not want to live around people who feel the rest of the world is beneath them. We see the attitude when Americans visit Canada.

*Excuse you*, Canada is a BIGGER, better version of what the USA is trying to be. BIGGER. More land mass up here, and it's really nice when it's not snowing. Some of my relatives aren't white, and I worry about them when I hear they're thinking of spending time in the US. Seriously, we Canadians watch your movies and dramas where the plot is driven by something that isn't even an issue up here, and we're just, head shake, nope, no, nope.

Canadian here. It's unfair that you compare Shopify to Google with Google being one of the largest companies in the world. Also the housing market crisis in Canada is because we have an unsustainable housing bubble that should have poped over a decade ago but didn't and a large chunk of the economy is tied to housing. I have mixed feelings about this video. This video does a good job outlining the immigration process but it does not highlight any of the negative consequences of immigration that Canada is experiencing. One of the main reasons why cost of living is so high in Toronto and Vancouver is precisely because we have so many immigrants coming in without enough housing supply. This is by design because politicians and the upper class have a vested interest in keeping real estate prices high because so much of their net worth is tied up in the housing market.\n\nAnother negative is that employers hire immigrants working low skilled jobs and pay them less than Canadians because the immigrants are willing to be taken advantage of since they're just happy to have a job in Canada which pays better than their country. \n\nAnother myth that gets repeated is that Canadian takes immigrants out of compassion and unfortunately a lot of Canadians believe this. It was never about compassion, it's about bringing more people to 1) pay taxes to support our social welfare as Canadian birth rates decline and boomers retire, 2) keep housing costs high and 3) pay immigrants lower wages for the same work because immigrants are fine being exploited since they have a job in a first world country.\n\nAnother problem is the cultural shift. In the most immigrant-dense regions you'll find that many immigrants themselves surprisingly don't want more immigrants coming to Canada because they see these negative consequences. The people who are most pro-immigration have no problem cramming 8+ people in a basement and exploiting their labour because they make enough money to live in communities that immigrants can't afford, and so they don't have to deal with the cultural shift that's taking place. This is NOT the fault of immigrants, but rather the politicians who put economic growth over quality of life. Over HALF the people in the GTA weren't born in Canada, so they didn't go through our school system and have no connection to our culture. Canada is unfortunately going to become very racist over the next 10-20 years as Canadians start feeling like outsiders in their own country. It's somehow considered racists to criticize the effect of multiculturalism on social unity, yet the cultures we accept in Canada only became distinct cultures because of monoculturalism.

Immigrants who've illegally crossed the US Southern border won't have their cases heard until 2030. Chicago city council meeting recently turned into chaos as citizens complained that these new immigrants are making life miserable for them\n Once these migrants get work permits they'll take jobs Americans refuse to take.\nIt's idiot policies of the Democrat party to take in the world's refuse; ie, criminals,mentally ill and other undesirables while blocking the best. It really annoys me how western countries think it’s acceptable to take all the well trained workers from third world countries and completely stump their growth. All western countries should ban immigration from poor countries unless the country can prove they have enough doctors or nurses

Regarding housing... this video misses another fact, Canada now has one of the largest concentrations of high net worth individuals in the world. Canada is an incredibly wealthy country, and indeed, attracts many wealthy immegrants too.

As a first gen Chinese American, and to be fair to the US, please remember (1) US has a border with Mexico, which means illegal immigration is so much bigger than legal ones that it sucks up much of the government immigration resources. (2l when the US population is as small as Canada's today, US was not only letting in people from all over the world but also giving them free land (google the homestead acts).

It's 100000000000× times easier to make real good money in advance economies like Canada or USA than it is in (third world) developing or undeveloped economies...and problems like inflation, shrinkflation, rising housing price etc. are a thousand times worse in third world countries..\nSo anyone from advance economies or developed countries who would blame immigrants for their money problems is just a lazy, pampered, privileged a**hole who lacks the understanding of the real world and a c*nt..full stop..

In terms of average life expectancy, Canada ranks 6th in the world. The USA? 48th. [SOURCE: CIA World Factbook 2023] Why? Canada has universal health care, gun control, and a social ethos that works. The US has for-profit health care, ineffective gun control, and Trump. In Canada, cancer is treated as a disease. In the US? as a profit centre. Even so, most Canadians love most Americans as cousins and friends, and always will.

How did you not talk about the ridiculous cost of living in Canada? Canada is one of the most expensive places in the world to live, and it's only getting worse. Unfortunately it's often immigrants that are causing the problem. Canada doesn't have enough housing to support the amount of immigrants coming to the country, so we all suffer as a result. \n\nI'm also not sure why you didn't mention the fact that Canada is quickly becoming a fascist dictatorship under the current Liberal government. Canadians have been having our rights and freedoms striped away from us faster than any other developed nation in the world, and the mental health of Canadians has been declining rapidly as a result.

Oh, hell no! And further to that, if I was visiting the US and got sick enough that I might need a hospital, I would do my damnedest to get back to Canada. I have heard Americans say that the healthcare is very good, as long as you have money. But I don’t trust it because Americans have been brainwashed to believe that the US is exceptional in every way (sorry guys, but it’s extremely obvious to the rest of the world), yet I have heard too many stories about things like people picking up C. Diff or other drug-resistant infections in hospitals there.\n\nI spent about two weeks in the hospital in February. You know what it cost me? Absolutely nothing. Well, I did have to pay for taking an ambulance later. But the hospital stay itself cost me nothing. Neither did the food they fed me in there, or the medication they gave me.\n\nMayyyybe if you guys got universal health care (it shouldn’t be tied to your job), and stopped shooting each other so much. You definitely have some better weather. Oh, and if you all toned down the religion a bit. Annnd stopped trying to play world police while simultaneously bombing other countries into oblivion to steal their resources. 9:30 Actually, Tyler, many children are being shot on a daily basis in the USA, just maybe not in schools. America has over 100 times the numbers of guns deaths for children per capita than Canada. Also your mass shootings are so prevalent that they do not even make the top news in the US anymore, but the rest of the world sees it. I can't even think of the last time we in Canada had a mass school shooting. It does happen, very rarely, about once every 3-4 years, but it is mostly just one on one violence. I think it was 2006 when we last had a mass, indiscriminate shooting in a school.

Education is better for all here. It is hard to describe but the culture is very different. We are not American and the rest of the world needs to learn that.
