It seems, more and more that people are gradually leaving Canada. The continued rising cost of living, high taxes and long dark winters making this country less appealing and the u.s more appealing..

Great content! Loving the podcast series, congrats. Love to connect, have experiences to share. Worked in 4 different countries on work permit Australia, Malaysia, US, and Canada.

Lol Canada is nothing infront of Australia. If you didn’t settle , that dosent mean country is bad . Australia is superior in everything.

What great insurance are you getting through work? My premium goes up every year. I have to spend $6ooo before it even kicks in and then they only pay 80% of covered items. Canada has us beat hands down.

I was born and raised in Canada and have traveled to other countries and i am considering to move to another country mainly because of the present Trudeau Liberal mismanaged government. By the way the lady in white is very pretty.

Studies have shown that 4% of American kids die before 18. As a queer person, I’m gonna have to be hella desperate to move there.\n\nAlso, I’ve got a Norwegian citizenship, so if all goes to hell in Canada I can just go there.

Podcast very interesting conveying true picture. I am 71 and had canada citizenship in 1988. I stayed there for 15 days after getting PR but returned . Although later i hv been to canada and UK several times as long term visitor. I hv so many other reservations about these two countries especially related to its future after 20 yrs because of their liberal policies on refugees and asylum seekers. Their economy is going down and down. In comparison Australia seems to be a younger country with good climate round the year with good prospects

My family left the USA in 1776 never would consider leaving Canada for USA
2023-07-18 0
The USA is free while Canada is rapidly becoming a third world slave state. If you're enterprising, Canada's governments will crucify you. Move to one of the red states: Idaho, Texas, Florida. Avoid the Democrat states for sure. And get a gun. Live free or die.

Raman ji there is no hostels in canada it is really required for students

I am retired and my health issues won't allow me to. I don't have employer insurance or even private insurance any more, But I feel I am getting the best care I can get. I see my family doctor regularly every 3-4 months. My prescription drugs are covered, I get grants for my medical conditions. Also with the crime rate, mass murders, and the dangerous political divisions in the country, I have no reason to move to the US. I just feel safer in Canada. Not to mention the corrupt Supreme Court that is impacting on people's lives by taking away rights that people fought for years to obtain.

I went in January to Adelaide and now I am in Toronto . I too will be making a video on it. Australia surely people are more stiff and not that friendly . In Canada people are a bit more friendly .
2023-07-18 0
Well I would never move out of Canada but can't wait for Justin Trudeau to get the boot. He is literally ruining the country day by day.

As a Canadian, I have never had a bill for hospital stays or visits to doctors. Compared to the USA, Canada is a utopia.

Hi Tyler. I think that when you say you've lived mainly in small towns and that most people are pleasant may stem from the fact that you're a white male. Many if not most small towns in America suffer from a lack of cultural diversity. It's easy for them to be kind and pleasant when they hardly ever get confronted by anyone outside their cultural norms. How accepting would they be if a bunch of families from other cultures would start moving into their little piece of paradise? Would they remain as pleasant and friendly? That's where the real test would be. Mind you, I'm not sure it would be so different here in Canada if you look at more remote villages.

To put things into perspective Tyler, there have been 340 mass shootings in the States so far this year. That's more than one a day and is scarily close to 2 per day. Meanwhile in Canada there's been 2 (which also thankfully no one has died in and 'only' 4 were injured in each though ideally neither of these would have happened either of course). The year in Canada with the highest number of mass shootings ever was 2018 with 7. Since the year 2000, there have been 53 mass shooting in Canada. That means, in less than a year, the US has had more than 6x the amount Canada has had in the last 23 years combined. Almost all of Canada's mass shootings also tend to happen either directly in Toronto or just the GTA in general so, anyone who's worried about that in Canada can live basically anywhere else in the country.\n\nI have no doubt that the vast majority of Americans are at least decent human beings with a fair number of them being amazing people. However, if even 10% of Americans were considered crazy, that's basically the same number of people as the population of Canada. Canada has it's crazy people too of course but the chances of running into one is far less likely and it's much harder for those crazy people to become dangerous because it's harder to get firearms.

and in terms of the school shooting sitution keep in mind there hasn't been a gun death in under 12 school in over 20 years in canada

Just to let you know some Canadians are Considering Moving to the US or Europe Since Justin Trudeau is turning Canada it to a Totalion Dictator Ship with Killing off the homeless, Low-income people and some low-middle income people in favor of Mid-Middle income people and Higher. Also not correcting businesses that level White Males out in the Rain in Favor of Immigrants. Canada is on the verge of a Civil war if things keep going as they are. So far where I live they have ben 5 Massive fight between Borne Canadians and Immigrants. Where the Police side with the Immigrants and Beat the Borne Canadians with exception to borne Canadians who are Mid-Middle income and Higher.

NEVER. I live half the year in the Yucatán in Mexico and ALWAYS a DIRECT flight to and from Canada ?? I dont even like risking flying over the USA in case we need to make an emergency stop In the US.
2023-07-16 0
Wish I could afford to!!! Trapped in Canada... Rather go there...
2023-07-16 0
we can easily get guns here in Canada. we just don't go nuts and shoot each-other!
2023-07-16 0
Canada has gun culture too. It's just not TOXIC gun culture.

I’ve lived in both countries in small towns and big cities Hell No Thanks and I would have great insurance. I remember in preschool having to do active shooter drills in the US nope. If you look at stats on gun violence and mass shootings it’s crazy. The US leads by an astronomical amount. Tyler says the US has more access to guns and although I have no idea where to get a gun I think people could get one pretty easily but we don’t need them. I can walk in the dark and not fear for my safety and Canada has only had 3 mass shootings in its whole history. Of course medical, dental, education, women’s rights, maternity and paternity leave, unemployment, help when Covid lockdown happened, clean free water in homes, housing, … on and on. America the “free” is antiquated and no longer true. Education has slid to 30 something in world rankings and Canada is in the top 3. Cost of education, daycare, child benefits ect. I could write paragraphs. Also it’s hilarious when you hear American say oh we’ll just moved to Canada like they can just drive here and settle down?!?there’s a border and you can’t illegally just move here and get a job. If you’ve lived in both countries you’d know the difference. I don’t even want to vacation there anymore since about 10 years or so ago.

Canada. Living the American dream without the violence since 1867.

I could live in Southern California, Washington state or Miami area. Been there many times. I love going shopping and eating there.\n\nMy wife is from a foreign country and prefers Canada. She only likes North Vancouver as well to live.

As a Canadian, I would consider moving to the US if I was already independently wealthy. The US is hands down the best place in the world to be rich. Canada is not perfect, but it's better for regular people.
2023-07-16 0
I'm afraid that with the gun craze down there, I would not consider it. Then, there is the lousy healthcare... And just when I think you guys aren't that bad off, I watch an episode of John Oliver's This Week Tonight, and a plethora of new reasons spring up. \n\nRight now in Canada, there is a Conservative Party that is starting to adopt the MAGA philosophy of consorting with white supremacism, fascism, misogyny and racist, and I cannot imagine moving to a place where this stuff is running rife. \n\nTyler, you are a lovely example of a decent American, and in truth, when visiting the States (which I haven't done for years), I met more people like you than like MAGA. However, my tolerance for stupid, hateful people is far lower since Trump was elected, and I swore I would not visit the US again until the WH, Congress and the Senate clean house of the Republican scourge. \n\nBut moving to the US would never be an option for me. I love Canada. I live in one of the most beautiful parts of Canada - Vancouver Island. I was born here and have visited many places in the world, but this is, and will forever be, home!
2023-07-16 0
No can't even consider it, health care, politics, weather, shootings, policing and my list goes on. Yes it is a beautiful country with lots of really nice people and friends and i have visited quite a bit but the pluses are far less than the negatives. Tyler come to Canada, we are not perfect but you our kind of guy

You complain about universal Health care, try living in the US with no insurance, my newborn nephew was diagnosed with cancer in the US and for 5 months of therapy parents got a bill of $400,000, they have to pay $5,000 monthly installments for the rest of their lifes pretty much. In Canada, my husband goes every three month with three different specialists, have had several surgeries in the last 10 years, didn't have work insurance and you know how much we paid? $3 per hour for the parking, we, the rest of the family, have complete annual checkups and specialists, complex surgerires when needed and pay $0

Canada is a National Slave pitt and a failing welfare state.\n\nGo Home and Stay away . Either your freezing for 6 to 8 months or getting eaten alive by Mosquitoes in the humid summer. \n\nThe one thing that kept people comming here was Economic opportunity , but greedy ignorant politicians and their special interest groups have been destroying the Finacial future.\n\nThere is nothing left here but a Slave Pitt . Sorry to say the truth.

Good decision. Canada was never good...only an illusion

If you move to rural areas of Canada its not that bad. Most of the Canadians commenting here I assume are the 80% who live in metro areas. Healthcare though is a problem, my inlaws in rural Quebec struggle to see a doctor often

Canada has become an expensive communist shit hole. Bad weather, sky high taxes, unaffordable housing, failing healthcare, freedom and rights being stripped away, this country is hopelessly lost in this cancer woke culture, we have the weak leading the strong. We have a woke PM that is embarrassing on the world stage, his cabinet is opening bought and paid for by the WEF. Canada has become a joke. I wish I could find a new place to live out my remaining years.
2023-07-13 0
Canada is a huge lye. Propaganda is the spirit of this country.

Wow!? My cousin just paid $8,000 ( 6 million naira) for a Visitor's visa to Canada, his agent promised him that his Visitor's visa will be converted to permanent residency within 2 weeks of his arrival which is costing him another $2,000. He is leaving Nigeria in a few days with so much enthusiasm and expectations!... These agents are very deceitful, Sad!. Thanks for this eye opener Mr. Chokor, you are very realistic and truthful! I just subscribed to your channel☺️???.

Thanks for this advice was planning this in 1year to move to Canada with the visit visa???now i know God bless you.

No way Canada beats US in health care. You have to wait for 8 months for everything in Canada. It's at most a tie :). Also, the key advantage for US is not being talked about here: pay. For doing the same job, you take home 40% less in Canada vs. US.
2023-07-09 0
I see you eye to eye most your point, I stay in Canada because I have no choice?

Both the ladies find nothing good about Canada . In India everyone is spoiled . That is why so many people are getting sick. They should learn to do work themselves.
