I think you missed the ball on two points.\n\n1) although Canada has a higher share of current immigrants, 99% of all americans are descended from at least one great grandparent who came from abroad before settling down. America is a nation of immigrants down into its blood, and the current state of affairs is more a reflection of abberation than the norm, even in spite of our history of the Klan and know nothing party.\n\n2) Québec sets its own immigration policy and it is WAAAAAAY stricter, like, they have a french literacy test that a parisian with a PhD in French literature failed, and when this is brought up most Quebecois say this makes sense because *the French* are doing a poor job of preserving frenchness against encroachment from foreign language and culture. Meanwhile L'Acedemie Français is the chief dead horse to beat amongst folks who want to make jokes of linguistic and cultural prescriltivism.

I like how nobody sees an issue with Canada's population being overtaken by immigrants. Immigrants who found a country are not the same as immigrants coming to be parasites on social programs. The leader of the NDP Jagmeet Singh recently stated these policies are failing Indians coming for prosperity, but are sleeping on the streets. I find videos like this extremely alarming in that it promotes this idea that for a country to be good, we have to open our borders and let whoever come. Please go to canada and look for yourself.

There is no shortage of workers in the United State. \nThe only reason H1B exit is to drive down wage and create a toxic work culture.\nThere are many students graduating every year that can’t get jobs in many of the companies you listed in this videos.

What you think is a cheap living in the USA take an entirely different tone when you consider the vast costs of utilities and other necessities like health insurance. Canadians pay more but they get more back. Americans pay less but their get pretty much nothing from the state in terms of protection. And need we get into the healthcare debate especially for families and children?

Great video! US immigration system is soul crushing and very expensive. As a Korean Canadian (Scientist with a PhD) who immigrated to US in 2012, I was lucky to get my green card in 2020. Since then I sponsored my wife and my daughter but their immigration cases have been in limbo due to the pandemic and we are still waiting for their green cards. You made a great point about why many people wants to immigrate to US from Canada because of pay. It is true that same job in the US pays so much better but you forget to mention a few points that the higher pay in the US is not that much advantageous if you calculate the cost of other life expenses. Sure house is very expansive in Canada but it is expensive in the US too. I live in MA and the average price is so much expensive. Additionionally, important things in life are very expensive in the US compared to Canada such as Child care, children's education, health cares etc... Example: My friends from Quebec only pay 7$/day for daycare (~140$/month). My friends in Massassuchetts pays on average (2800$/month). My friends kids will pay around 2000$/year for university tuition if they go to an university in Quebec. My kid will have to pay around 10000$/year if she decides to go to in state university if not it could be more than 40000$/year. I know that health care system in Canada is not perfect but it is much cheaper. In US, it is so expansive. My daughter birth only costs us in Canada 100$. My friend kid birth in MA with a great health insurance cost more than 5000$. Without health insurance, it could go even higher. Now if you lose your job, you lose your health insurance so good luck if you become sick. Additionally, depending where you go in the US, they have a gun problem. Luckily for me, I live in MA where gun control is very strong. Anyway, this is just to tell you that higher pay isn't always better.

As an American/Floridian a couple of comments:\n1. The US is NOT going to be colonized by larger countries!\n2. Immigration needs to be greatly reduced, not increased.\n3. Jobless and High Teck older layoffs, need to be rehired.\n4. American Unionism needs to be strengthened, through worker security.\n5. Your stance on school shooting seems flawed to me. Moving to a small town is not a way to provide protection: Uvalde, Sandy Hook, they are not big cities… and the shootings are not always in the same towns, same states, same areas… from the outside, there is no real safe heavens from this craziness

No matter what kind of insurance you have, you still have to deal with a stupid amount of red tape and bureaucracy just to get your care covered, and the drug prices are out of control. and you have no idea when that horrible health issue is going to happen to you. In Canada, I go to the doctor, I give my health card, done deal. The healthcare system in Ontario particularly is under attack and they're trying to privatize hospital care by underfunding everything else. But our premier is also a Conservative Trump Lite wannabe who is buddy buddy with a lot of rich folks.There are absolutely problems here, Canada is dysfunctional in a lot of ways. At 65, I have managed to visit 35 of the US states. Each time I returned to Canada, I got down on my hands & knees to kiss the ground of this country. I felt instant stress relief as soon as I did return safely. These days, I never want to step foot there again. To make life more interesting, I have a brother in Chicago. There’s an oxymoron. He is a trucker that likes Nascar, has no children of his own & married a lovely American girl who already had children (now grown). He sees the variations between counties - he stays for the $$. He comes home for huge doses of Canada & family.

The Government of Canada recently issued a 'travel advisory' for the United States travel because of random acts of violence with no pretense that you can protect yourself. I've heard of 'travel advisories' for certain States, but this is the first time I've heard it for the entire U.S. anywhere. In answer to the question: No. Too many guns, too many gun owners, too much religion pumping out hate and bigotry and too much arrogance.

I was born and raised in the US and immigrated to Canada as a young adult. I have lived here for 45 years, am now a citizen, and would never move back to the States! I don't even holiday there (Europe, Asia or Mexico instead). It is so unsafe and unstable; there's no draw for me to want to spend time there.

I'm American. The half a point for sleeping with shoes on I don't think is accurate. The only exception to that I can think of is if someone passed out drunk. I did agree with some of their points especially around education. Having a lawyer being an Uber driver should be looked at as a problem though unless it's purely their choice. I work about 70 to 80 hours a week and took three days vacation last year which is no life at all. Not feeling like I can afford to educate myself here gives no end in sight and if i save a dollar today it's worth 50 cents in ten years so retirement is also very hard here in the states.

Lived in Canada while working in the US for almost 20 years. Sadly although I had many friends I was often shocked by the attitudes of my colleagues. They almost all looked at other countries as inferior. Racism is absolutely a thing .There was no curiosity about other cultures. I knew people that died because of their hesitation to seek health care. The school shootings, although maybe they don’t happen ‘all’ the time there seems to be no desire to fix that. The US is going the wrong way regarding voting rights. My town actually sends out extra busses if you need a ride to vote. The support of the LGBTQ community and women’s rights are also problematic. US is good if you want to get yours but I personally don’t want to take two, when others aren’t even getting one. I am happily no longer working in the states.

I have no formal education beyond grade 12 and no money to afford school and no credit for a loan. If not for the child tax credit and social assistance I wouldn't be able to live without my(former) abusive partner, I would have been stuck living on the streets.\n\nBecause the system was designed to help people stay afloat, not get ahead, I broke even and can now work a full time minimum wage job and care for my son in peace and stability. It's a nice feeling <3\n\nWelfare covers most all prescriptions so you only pay $5 for each regardless of what they cost.\n\nThe system could use some major improvements in several areas(dental and eye care being two of them), but it works for our current situation\n\nI only recently found out that the states doesn't have the child tax credit as a regular form of income for parents. 1. While McDonald's was originally created in the US there is a 2nd version and its 100% Canadian. After the u.s. McDonald's began franchising one of the brothers became so disgusted with the lack of regulation in the US on what is considered 'food' he moved to Canada and relaunched the chain. The federal and state government recommend homes in the city have sewage plumbing BUT it is not required. There are literally houses in the southern states with the toilets flushing right into the front or backyard. 6. Perfectly fine to pay a man more than a woman in the US because a woman isnt a man. 7. And if a woman literally becomes a man by changing 'her' name + physically in appearance via surgery/hormones/whatever she still won't get paid the same as a man because she still not viewed as a man: no gender rights. 8. Where's the healthcare when the US has the highest taxes in the world??? 9. Classist. 10. No regulated education. Literally there is no rules on teaching the students these days are learning absolutely nothing. There's no such thing as regulating education in the US anymore 11. I have lived in different parts of Canada my whole life, but always seem to end up in majority conservative areas. I do not consider myself a conservative. Even though I don't agree with everyone's politics, I can still live here feeling relatively safe and accepted.\nWhen things get a bit much and I feel like maybe home doesn't feel safe or match my values, I never look at the USA as my exit plan. I have considered Sweden, and Finland before anywhere else. I also wonder if it's just the sheer volume of people that Canadians aren't used to when they visit the states. Your population is massive compared to ours, and it's hard to imagine the quality of life that I have here being easy to emulate down there without drastic changes.\nThen there's my vacation and sick time at work. Maternity leaves etc... so many quality of life things to consider. I look at the housing prices and really wish I could get over the other things. But as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, I could never work in your fee for service word. I know what hospital CEOs are doing to your healthcare from the diagnostic side - the shortcuts that are being made to make more money - and I could never do that with my ethics.\nI hope Canada wasn't too rough on you - we can be pretty shitty some times lol... and not even be sorry about it.
