Free health care makes the system overwhelmed and causes delays in getting treatment, try being in a situation where u have a life-threatening illness and can't afford treatment. It's hard to build wealth in Canada, try building your stupendous wealth in a country that is unsafe with poor infrastructures. There's no perfect situation in life but I think having a good quality of life supersedes wealth accumulation and most other things.

UK is the same. Nowadays u call for an ambiance and u have to take a Uber, because they don't have enough staff... there is Private health care, but only the very wealthy can afford it.
