Canada is well on its way to going back into the 2nd world. This country is doomed. What a waste of education. Spent 40k on a degree to be stuck in my mid 20s trying to leave this hellhole of grinding 60+ hours a week to spend everything on rent and food. Brain drain really hit me hard.

Personally, all of those people are lucky that the united states didn't take that as a Invasion. And I do not see why they wanna come here, I mean we may be free but are we really. Housing is horrible, income is bad, not as good as they take it to be.

Good advise, be willing to start at the bottom work hard show you capable and you will move up. As a born and raised Canadian, that lived in Europe for 3 years we do have some things good here. Not once have i lived off the government. I work my girl works. We’re having a kid. And things are getting really tight. Inflation is kicking our butts bills increased pay is the same. Were not married yet. We decided to try to seek some government help for at least food right. Shit is tough rn so if we can at least get some food we’ll be fine. We can’t get it technically my girl makes too much money. Why is that even a thing? You’re telling us no because we have too much money? Well we also have alot of bills. The way the video is made, it looked like it was trying to highlight issues with Canada, but honestly Im not really seeing anything problematic. They have managed to keep income levels high, while keeping inequality low. They are the 14th most competitive economy, and do fairly well to maintain business activity without having giant monopoly businesses eat up the small man. Sounds great to me. The only issue just seems to be the housing crises

Althought Canada is a inferior business country relative to US. Atleast our banking system is strong, that notion of us being risk averse is a good thing. \nThe 08 crash,and now the current on going banking crisis in the US really tells you the level of risks taken by US firms. \nUS businessess are much quicker to fire you, much faster to destroy unions. For the average working person, Canada offers more. \nOur healthcare is great. I am saying this as a person who has been in and out of surgeries of different types since the age of 5 and still going through some at 24... \n\nCanada is a strong economy with good natural resources to exploit. but it is expensive relative to the US. \n\nMy general view is, for a non-white person, Vancouver, Toronto are great places to be across all of Canada and the US.

High taxes, high energy prices, low wages, too much government, crony capitalism, real estate being treated as a speculative investment, too much immigration and nowhere to house them, regulations that deter entrepreneurship, poor health care, refusal to invest in our resource industry, refusal to invest in core infrastructure, declining civil liberties. Lot of these problems have been festering for a while, but things have really gone off a cliff since Trudeau was first elected. Even if you get some wise and saintly philosopher king to replace his corrupt arse, these problems will take years, probably decades to fix. I'm in my late 30s, and basically if I want to get out of this rut, I think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and figure out a way to move to the States. I'm getting real tired of grinding my butt working and having nothing to show for it.

Hi, \nafter hearing this “exposé” I understand that it is the same in any developed country. There is no point of moving from one country to another when tax paying is not thought of. Remember labour is the one that builds and develops a country. One has to strategise before relocating, unless for most immigrants that manage to do it surprisingly as from many applications they did, one just went through and it is a success to go. As an immigrant to Canada who's built a successful business here, I do feel the urge to defend Canada when I see these sorts of videos.\n\nThings are hard right now - inflation is really crippling and I don't know how the housing prices are still holding up despite rising interest rates. I also agree the red tape is absolutely bonkers.\n\nThe country needs to develop more of a pro-business mentality. Everywhere I look, people are complaining about not having a good job but no one wants to put up their hand to start a business to create those jobs.\n\nBut, man, is it beautiful living in the Rocky Mountains. It's a peaceful, open-minded nation and the day I finally get my citizenship will be a very proud day for me.

big problem with the housing is also trudeau taking in so many immigrants and refugees before having enough available housing for everybody. I think they were taking in 200k people a year. while we need atleast 1million new houses within the next 10 years in order to supply enough to the population. There was also an issue with forieign purchases where people from other countries were buying houses in canada and nobody living in them. Trudeaus votes comes from majority indian people and arabic since thats a lot of the population in canada, and to win those votes and get more hes friendly with them accepting a lot of immigrants from those countries, its not a bad thing since a lot are very well educated and their peaceful people for the most part, but the problem is there isn't enough housing. Even renting has become competitive , owning is near impossible without help. Trudeau really messed up the country, houses are riduclously expensive and they often go into bidding wars if in a good area, banks interest rates keep going up now, loans are harder to take out, sadly we need to limit the amount of immigrants that come into the country until the right number of houses are built in the country, if anything new and major cities need ot be build in other locations with jobs in order to get more people spread out around the provinces. Once there is enough houses and jobs i believe the doors should be open to whomever wishes to come (obviously with a background check) but until then there should be a limit so the houses stop going up.

I'm canadian and yeah, while the healthcare can be tricky sometimes, in cas of a emergency, it's not that tricky. I had to go to the ER 2 times in 3 month because of a pneumothorax, arrived there, pass in 15 min approximatly both time and was in charge, spent 1 week each time there and the second time even had to have a part of my lung removed. Had no real tricky manipulation to do or anyhing. I was just happy it cost me absolutely nothing and I think it's definetly a reason why the lifespan is higher since in case of an emergency, if I was in the US and had to pay, I would have actually died, since I don't have the money for it, I'm a student so... (that also helps, my session cost me around 200 bucks... yeah, 200, I'm in college). Healthcare should really be something free everywhere, you never know when a shit can happen and... you can't really prepare your bank account for it...\n\nSorry for the bad english, I'm a native french speaker (yes, I'm from Québec)

I think it depends on what you really want from a country. If you exclude costs of living, Canada today looks like a nice place for retirement where people just want to live life quietly and do simple happy things in life. This makes it not as focus on development in my opinion. The cost of everything is going up because if I was a rich person, I would go to Canada too to live life. Not as stressful and the nature there is just amazing. BC weather is really nice.
