My wife, my 3 kids and I used to like Vancouver but not anymore!!! The weather is why we plan to leave for good but also the expensive rents! I also heard about horror stories at many hospitals (and yes, I have worked in Africa and to be honest, Africans hospitals are way more functional than the ones in Canada in terms of human aspect… there they care, Canadians do not give a shit about anyone!!! And I am saying this as a Belgian!!! I have some African colleagues at work here and at least 80 percent of them either want to go back to Africa (one is actually going to start an Afro business there and build his own house) or move to Europe (one of them plans to live to my homeland Belgium and two others in France as apparent the pensions there are way better than the Canadian one) as soon as they get enough experience in canada! None of us at work , including me, want to retire or get old here in Canada! For me personally, it is the Canadian extreme loneliness and lack of willingness to open to others that really shuts me down… I am fed up and and tired of paying taxes in a country where some (not all) hospitals and some retirement homes treat patients like … objects, not human beings! I now understand (as before I did not) why even some of my African colleagues are looking forward to go back to Africa or to some of them, immigrate to Europe! .. none of us want to be left alone and depressed in this so highly individualistic and unfriendly, falsely “cool” country called Canada… a country that claims America and France are racist countries when not even one CEO in Canada is coloured! I am also fed up of Canadians being cool!!!! Cool???? Yes, their humour is crap and they are all too serious… not astonishing why so many end up being depressed or on meds to be able to function! \nLast: I am fed up with 1. The stupid credit score system which makes North Americans anxious and frustrated!!!! Stupidity does not even exist in France or Belgium where I am from! 2.food is Canada is … not good…lol… really close to being bad! 3.the country is boring… reason… people are so disciplined and nothing happens!!! I just miss Europe even if we are far from being perfect and I prefer our imperfections to the Canadian perfect society which end up making people boring and annoying!!! 4. Canadians are shallow compared to us Europeans 5. Their transit system sucks if compared to Europe 6. Health care system is nothing comptable to what we got in Europe!!!! \nResult: I leave Canada years before retirement as The last thing I want for me is to remain in a country and get “sunk” Into Canadian depression, Canadian loneliness and Canadian “coolness”. \nOhh just as an indicator, it is really rare to see someone who is happy in Vancouver BC these days… the city just looks like a factory to make people work, make Canadian banks richer and pay taxes! Apart from that, I do not give a damn about the beautiful scenery and lakes as long as everyone around gets scammed with unjustified and ridiculous high cost of living!!!

Im Asian and I love Vancouver! The weather is beautiful and mild! I enjoy the rainy days cozying up with nice jazz music on gorgeous cafes and restaurants Vancouver has. It is expensive yes, however if your Asian its not, you just havent explored the Asian market place, cheap housing are also available in the outskirt cities and the best part of it is you are near the beaches and outdoor recreation and fun! Taxes are high yep thats true however with three different surgeries my family had from Apendicitis, to Gall bladder stone removal and stent angioplasty that could have cost us millions but got it for free, also the Free education, Child support, CERB, etc, taxes doesnt seem to matter anymore. British Columbia's mountain ranges, ski resort, hot springs, also Albertas Banf, Jasper, and Canmore for me are truly majestic safe and beautiful! Ive been all around South east Asia Europe and even the middle east however the welcoming nature and culture of Canadians and the power of a canadian Passport for me trumps all other cities in other countries. If you want to learn extreme news go to Asia like, China, North Korea, and the Philippines, also the USA the most extreme of them all! Rules are indeed frustrating but Canadian rules are nothing compared to Singapore, if you want freedom try India, try to walk in sexy clothing on the streets. In the Philippines everybody drives drunk specially on Friday nights. The Canadian mindset of a Multi cultural communinty and the welcoming athmosphere of their thinking for me is the reason why Canada is truly the best place to live.

I’ll agree with the “Canadians are nicer” sentiment in every circumstance other than dealing with Americans. I’m American, married to a Canadian and many of them literally scoff when I tell them where I’m from. All I want to do is enjoy their beautiful country but they’d rather talk about politics In the US. It’s exhausting sometimes.

I have lived in Canada for 50 years and I want to leave because I do not like the cowardly way Canadian authorities deal with abusive people, scofflaws and criminals. Then there is the woke agenda that features racial problems that belong to the US which is really annoying. Canada needs to stop adopting American issues and be a country of its own. Do we need to see Africans in every ad on mainstream media when Canada was the place slaves escaped to to be free? Sickening pandering to a US guilt complex. George Floyd was not murdered here!

In Kenya, For at least half of the day I don't know where my boys are playing, outside or under my neighbors bed, I'll have my old family friends coarse me into doing a BBQ for them, I'll visit my parents once a week, I'll greet everyone on the street, I'll have a deep conversation with my barber and taxi driver, I'll go to church and the pastor will call out my name, I'll find my cousin and she'll join my family to an outing and remember we have our neighbors' kid with us because he couldn't let my son's go alone, then the neighbors husband whose an aquintance will show up at my door uninvited have dinner and talk about my car. Once in a while my cousins will show up with a full band to play loud music! Sometimes I want to be alone so I go to a local coffee shop WITH MY WIFE!!

I have been reading the posts and almost all are saying life is lonely, here in US or Canada or Eu. So why do you want to come. You can happily stay in your country and enjoy your culture or whatever. It looks like the season that you're filming is winter and its going to be very cold in most places, so most of them stay back in their houses. Everything is available along with all kinds of foods in these countries. May be you dont know how to cook any kind of food and you might have been used to somebody cooking for you. If you feel stressed then meditate or do yoga or take a long walk on these beautiful and clean roads that are not found in many countries.. OR Stay back and dont come to USA/Canada/EU, unnecessarily leaving all that goodness in your countries.

i’m typing this as an american native with 1st generation mexican parents. i lived all my life in suburbs , i’m 23. i started doing online school at around age 13 so i stayed home and basically quit hanging out with anyone by age 14. i feel i grew up online, no real life friends, didn’t get to know or hangout with cousins my age due to their own plans or schedule. i still live a very lonely life but this video very greatly shows why i want to leave the US. neighbors hardly know each other and don’t want to, they instead will purchase guns and be paranoid about everyone, despite all they do is drive to work, do 10 hours, come back. repeat. \n\ni visited mexico twice, i like the culture there, and i wouldn’t mind trying to live out there for a year see how i like it. there’s plenty of good land to work, i’m willing to work hard and i’m ok with eating simple. as of now i’m just saving my money and getting it into investment and hopefully semi live off that when i move to mexico in 7-10 years

Oh man this video is just pure gold. Thank you for showing reality! When I am in the US after a period of time I want to go back to Colombia. When I am in Colombia after a period of time I want to go back to the US. I am trap in the middle as you mentioned and I don't like it. I am 30 and spent my teenage years in Colombia but my working life as an adult has been in the US.

I can agree with these comments if your not American, growing up we had all that interaction with family, friends and neighbors. Life n times have changed in America due to gun violence, especially in large cities. Socializing is different in every state in America and in every country. I can understand how if your not accustomed to our ways of life even today, that you would prefer your ways of living back in your hometown and your Country. If you live in a big City in America and moved there from a smaller town in America, you will be feeling some loneliness, that's normal to us in America. If your American then you adjust to making n meeting new people, that hasn't been so easy with the pandemic for anyone. To compare our homes in one community from another or even from another country, is just criticism. We don't have a specific way of living, as far as our homes are constructed. This is how as American's we have always lived, small homes, large homes, big cities, small towns. Since the pandemic we do find ourselves spending more time inside due to no fault of our own. We do have different ways of living but so do other countries which we do enjoy when we visit. If you want to learn more about America and our lifestyles and history, you should do that. Every Country has it's government rules n law's and we try to abide by them, that's what makes our Country n Our Nation Great, that's also why many people come here to visit or work and study. Loneliness can be anywhere, depending on the person you are and reaching out to make new friends or just acquaintances is important. Especially, if your away from friends n family from home or a different Country. ✌️

I disagree with your analysis, I'm Asian American and most of my friends are all different colors and races. Allot of us have a very active lifestyle, if your an indoor type of person then you will obviously prefer staying indoors. I think why most people want to immigrate to a America is economical and social freedoms. I'm sure it might be very exciting in Africa, but Its chaotic, lawless and economically depressed. But if that's what you rather have than I suggest you stay where you came from.

I hate to say it but it's true... I live in windsor ontario Canada, when we were kids it was like that, im in my 40s in the 80s and 90s we played outside whatever we wanted. it all started with internet becoming big with social media, and I'm guilty of the video games, them as well as soon as we got Nintendo as kids my parents would make us stop and go outside, but as we got older u started seeing it less and less until where it's at now no kids playing outside very rarely I do see it in the summer but it's very true it's very sad

The stress and the pressure we live under is what weighs us down. There is always something dull, bland and general lack of vibrancy in these American streets videos. I am an introvert but I prefer some little noise and bright weather?,, I don't think the US is a place I'd want to live unless its for work purposes.

As my husband (EBM) knows well, our family is recognized all over the city. Either, someone from our church sees us and says hi, the employees at Target, Walmart or other grocery store know us. It’s hard to miss our crazy family. We have three children under 12 years. One must try to engage others. You cannot blame others for a lack of social interaction if you yourself do not try. Do not think that you will get best friends just from talking to some one. Most people want to *feel* they can trust you. Be yourself. Whomever you are. Do not pretend to be anything you are not. While being fake can get you somewhere, it’s still fake. Plenty of people here in the US are fake. You have to find *your* people. It takes time and energy.

As an American over 50, I remember being able to play out in the street when I was a kid, but because of the rising crime and evil in this country, everyone fears going out of their house. I always wonder why foreigners want to come to the US. It’s horrible here. A lot of Americans are looking to leave their home country. If you want a house and good money, you will be an underpaid slave to your job, and you will have to keep working harder and harder just to maintain what you have. I live completely alone now. No friends and no family. So, I keep dreaming of escaping this hellhole they call the American dream. They can have it, cause I’m done.

Brother, You are so right! But, I am a african American who grew up in the 70’s. It wasn’t like this until blacks integrated with whites. We had fun in our neighborhoods just like you described. Any neighbor could correct us. We could just go to the neighbors house to play. I grew up in Chicago and we had block parties with dancing, games, food sand talent shows. We played games in the street after school. When we left our black communities we had to behave like whites who don’t want to socialize with us. That’s what you see where you live. So they suffer and stay inside their houses. I left Chicago for university and moved to Newark, New Jersey and it was life there too! So many cultures, people walking, languages, music, vendors on the street. Puerto Rican’s, Haitians, Dominicans, and Africans. You should be some place like that. But many places in America “now” are boring like where you showed. Move!!!

My friend, it depends on what you want out of your time in US. If you want outdoor life, there is plenty of it here, you just have to know what to do and where to go. If you have been indoors for 10 days and only gone out twice, then that tells a lot about your own self, not being an outdoor person. There are parks, lakes, amusements, beaches. There are facilities for hiking, walking, cycling, etc. I really think that you have not been exposed or you have not explored what is available here for outdoor fun. In the western world you can take your family out camping in the forest with the assurance that you will come back home safely. You can take your boat down to the lake for a day of fun with no problem. If you lived in most parts of Africa, and bought a boat, and started going to the river or lakes in the weekend, then the police commissioner, or military person who lives close to you will fabricate a reason to intimidate you and confiscate it. What I mean is in Africa, you run the risk of becoming a target once people see that you are an ordinary citizens who is doing well. Here, not like that.\n\nJust be happy that you are here and make the most of it. While you were in Africa, you dreamt about coming to America, now that you are here, all you want is to recreate Africa here. If Africa was good enough, no African will want to be here.

Sir I have shifted to UK ..around 5 months ago...I spent around 12 years in Saudi arabia before.\nThe main difference between our country and this country is the PEOPLE.\nIts not the prices..the money etc that makes you feel better. I was earning good in saudia as well but here...its the people..that make you feel better.\nWe booked a hotel here for quarantine and the Pakistani agent who paid for us by a credit card used a fake card number or what. We received a letter from the govt about 2285 pounds due to be paid. Of course thats alot of money for new comers...and as you said there was no payment plan or anything discussed in the letter.I called them back and the first thing they asked me was Are you alright right now? Do you need anything from us? And that was...an experience I never had before in my life. Then they discussed the way outs for the dues.\nSame goes for the jobs..the positions..the hiring...not the SAUDI/AJNABI shit going on at all ! So stop whining and be polite to our guests. the government should be building towns on our North shore so we can start selling our resources and Canada could b e a very wealthy country. A South Asian here.\nI`ve lived in UK, lived in Canada.. and now living in the US for 8 years now\nI am a middle-income earner with an immigrant background. So I think I am qualified to give my input from an outsiders perspective\n\nUSA is made for people in their 20s, when they have high energy and the naiveness of young optimistic soul. Options are unlimited.\nBut then when you get to your 30s, you`ll want some measure of security and peace. Thats where Canada is the best option.\nBut as you reach late 40s,early 50s you will want to look at a place to retire to... thats where UK wins, it is the perfect place to retire\n\nSo in Summary, US is best for 20s. CA is best for 30s/40s. UK is best for 50s,60s.\nA colleague of mine tells me Australia is the perfect mix of all three. But I cant tell as I have not lived or been there.

This is bullshit, it's not that bad, all the immigrants I know love it here, taxes are better in other provinces and pay is better in the higher tax provinces. It's the same stuff in the US. Wow, very interesting discussion. Many Canadians know about America but, many Americans do not know about Canada. Especially Africans Americans who do not know that Canada has African-Canadians too and other people of color also. Similarly, Canada and America are very related in just about everything. I know me being a American, if I was not a American. I would want to be a Canadian. Having been station at Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota and Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota. I am familiar with the weather in Canada. The mistake I made was not to travel to Winnipeg, having spent over 6 years in North Dakota, I regret that so much especially during the summer time. Wishing our Canadian brothers and sister great blessings. As well as all Canadians too. I know there are still discrimination in both societies of America and Canada but, it dwindles everyday. My experience about Canada after living here for a few years now: \n1): Healthcare: There are two sides of it. If you need a specialist, forget about it, just live with your disease or problems and hope it will cure itself and won’t get worse. If you are in a life threatening condition and need a surgery, you’ll get it and the medical bill won’t scare you. I needed a dermatologist, never got one, eventually had to fly to the US for a simple treatment. \n2): Taxes: You’ll pay extra to take care of the large aging population of Canada and to maintain the infrastructure in the extreme cold weather. But, you can make a good use of your RRSP and TFSA accounts, and you can also buy American stocks without paying taxes. \n3): Travel and transportation: Forget about public transportation methods like buses and trains. You’re on your own. But a vehicle ownership isn’t very hard here. \n4): Social networking: Good luck with that. Good luck finding friends here or being a part of a friends group. Canadians are polite but not outgoing and extrovert. Most people make a few friends in Schools and College. You’re not going to see people of different races and origin hanging out with each other. \n5): Real estate: Population is growing, population is aging, it’s all happening but what’s not many houses are getting built. Buying your own house isn’t easy. If you’ve bought one, good luck with the energy prices. \n5): Landscape: It’s gorgeous out here, if you want to be happy in Canada, go out for sightseeing.\n6): Jobs: Totally depends in which jobs you can fit in and what previous experience you have. If you have previously done exactly what the job profile is asking for, for sure you can find a job.\n\nIn the end I would say, I have lived in many places, each come with their downsides, you have to see what works for you. There’s isn’t a perfect world really there isn’t. You have to take the bad with the good.

I wanted to go back when I first moved to the US but fought it out with a low paying job before I ended up becoming an Executive. Southern Ontario is the best province... for those that can afford it. I believe the East Coast is the best, but the weather in Canada makes me not want to move anywhere. The US is where I'd rather be... more choices in weather, cost of living, etc.

You forgot to mention other types of taxes: sales tax, property tax, gasoline tax, etc...\nMore than 50% of our income goes back to the government, then they use that money to control us.\nThe rest we spend of food, transport, housing, etc, which is also going up in price due to inflation.\nMost Canadians not only can't save money, but are constantly falling in debt.\nModern day slavery, that's why they want more immigrants, it's the golden cage of the world.\nThis is something the corrupt main stream media never talks about.

Pretty good Adam I'd just mention a few of those things are...I don't want to say inaccurate but way more diverse. For instance French. Yes Quebec is the only French province BUT New Brunswick is the only Bilingual province and basically half and half. This is good for things like federal of provincial services because by law they must provide service in both languages but not so basically everywhere else. The problem with this is you can have an almost completely English town almost nobody speaks French and drive 15 minutes and be in a town where nobody speaks English. Research on this might be hard because a town with a French name may not have any French people in and vise versa. Also this problem is multiplied in the fact that if you Do want a French area we don't speak standard French or Quebecois but instead Le Chiac which is a difficult and confusing mix of old French and english (almost exactly like the Cajun dialect). Second part of this is that Montreal is easy to live in if you don't speak French and is so multicultural you are just apt to hear Swahili as French in public. Last part is be very careful where you move on the prairies as they have may isolated towns some that speak French also. Next is tipping I've never had to tip anyone for a haircut outside of the military and all other forms of tipping here on the east coast are purely optional and wait staff don't get upset if you don't leave a tip unless you were a jerk or left them extra work like making a big mess (I worked as cook for a while after I got out of the army and I rarely ever head staff complain) HOWEVER....tip a waitress well and she might accidentally give you 2 pieces of pie lol and tip a taxi driver well and he will not only get you the cheapest fare he will find ANYTHING you may need no questions asked. Lastly on the nice thing....we are nice for sure especially compared to our southern neighbours BUT there is a lot of passive aggressive nice that happens and this also varies greatly. For instance as a city boy of course you answered the way you did but a guy who have lived all over this country in big and small, French and English places who now has retired to a rural town I can say I find the cities quite snobby and the French and the English can be quite snobby to each other and where I live now if you asked a random stranger for 5$ chances are you would get it also driving down the road people you don't know will just wave at you as if you were the closest friends. Canada is certainly a weird place so many extremes and my advice to anyone wanting to move here is do your research and then visit and travel a bit if possible because even us Canadians can be surprised by thing or two across this gigantic country
