Here is a perspective by Dr. Peter Hammond. Dr. Hammond’s\ndoctorate is in Theology. He was born in Capetown in 1960, grew up in Rhodesia\nand converted to Christianity in 1977.\n\n\n\n\n\nAdapted from Dr. Peter Hammond's book:\nSlavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat:\nIslam is not a religion, nor is it a cult. They will increase pressure\non supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves -- along with threats\nfor failure to comply.\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is occurring in:\n\n\n\n\n\nFrance -- Muslim 12%\n\n\n\n\n\nPhilippines -- 9%\n\n\n\n\n\nSweden -- Muslim 8%\n\n\n\n\n\nSwitzerland -- Muslim 8.3%\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Netherlands -- Muslim 8.5%\n\n\n\n\n\nTrinidad& Tobago -- Muslim 10.8%\n\n\n\n\n\nAt this point, they will work to get the\nruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under\nSharia, the Islamic Law. As someone who is more liberal minded, I don't agree with illegal immigration (I'm also pretty fiscally conservative). I'm open to the idea of healthcare for all, I'm open to legalized pot (even though I hate pot), I don't agree with most wars, and I don't give a rats ass who someone marries or who makes your cake. But all those things are for CITIZENS. That CITIZENS should have. Not someone who comes here just because they think everything is free, don't need to learn English and probably not pay taxes. Canada has done extremely well for Immigrants, and we spend a lot of money on making sure we get hard working decent citizens.. We've recently made it easier for people to immigrate here. I agree racism is an issue but the part with Islam, that is cultural not race. That was proven by the fact the woman actress whose race is Mid Eastern had no idea that other Mid-Easterners suffered these comments when they dressed in obvious Muslim clothing. There is a difference between Race and Culture. Irregardless, we need to treat each other like we want to be treated. All cultures have common things among its members that are unpleasant to people of other cultures. If we realize that about our own culture, we can empathize with others.

I agree with a lot of the things said in the comments. He didn't properly look into what is required for refugee status and came illegally so shouldn't receive preferential treatment. However, his not speaking English...where could he go to learn as an illegal immigrant? And likely he had to work long hours to save money for lawyers, etc. The language thing to me seems a bit harsh. He may even know passable English, but the reporters may have wanted the interviews to go more smoothly and so spoke in his native language.

Living in Latin America is not that bad, well there are parts where you should avoid at all cost but there are places where you can have a safe decent life, most of you just say what comes out of your small little brains without ever even leaving your city your whole life. Its just that this people have lived and been so dependent from your system and in stretching their hands( beg) all this time that they not know what to do now. \n\nHe said that he wasted 15 thousand dollars in lawyer, if it would have been me I could have perfectly moved to lets say Costa Rica or Peru and still have money to buy land.
