I am sorry but I completely disagree. There is a difference between a surgery being delayed and rescheduled verses not being able to get the surgery at all because you do not have any healthcare. Even with employment many people cannot afford their employer sponsored healthcare because the premium is too high. All of the things you mentioned might be better addressed outside of Canada but definitely not by coming to the US. Our wages are not high, the tax rate is around the same 30% or higher by now with the tax hikes. Canada is still one of the world's best countries to live in.

As a Canadian from Québec I can tell you that you're right. The truth is we get fucked by our government since over 20 years. They invent new taxes, they steal more on our paycheck. I'm soon 30 and I can't still afford for a house when in 2000s with my actual salary I could've afford a house easily. We're sick of this lifestyle too so I understand completely why you're leaving except for the weather because I'm used to it unfortunately ?

You both make valid points about Canada. I am 2nd generation Canadian. I do feel like its expensive here and Even I have a hard time landing a job. (Recently got laid off from my career job, they said I didn't have enough experience to work there). My friends who aren't single and live with their partner, have an easier time living here compared to people who are single & living by themselves. \n\nNight life is boring here. However, daytime life specially in the summer is better. I feel like Canada is more for an outdoor person. Depending where you live, there are beaches, mountains, trails, & lakes to explore. Some parts of Canada even look tropical! We have hot springs here as well!\n\nFor the leisure & work life balance, I feel like that depends on the person. I used to work 2 jobs (not because I was bored or needed the money at the time), I just wanted to save more money & help my friend out with his business. I felt like I had good balance of work & leisure. I hanged out with my friends on Friday & Saturdays then I had my 'me' days on Sundays.\n\nIf you are going to move here, do your research, also I don't think people consider their countries dollar into the equation, what I mean is, if you want to convert your money to Canadian... you might have less money then you have. Example, at this moment, 1 Mexican Peso is 0.066 Canadian dollars, therefor people coming from Mexico might have a hard time afford things in Canada compared to a person who is moving from USA. I am a Canadian citizen and recently retired. I cannot afford to live in Canada on my pension. I moved to Mexico where I can live on $1,100 CDN a month and that includes private medical insurance and I am a 15 minute walk to a tropical beach.

There's an old say from my country that goes: the cat whose belly is full, always find the tail of the mouse taste bitter. So the immigrant, like a hungry cat, comes to Canada for food( opportunities) and once his belly is full, he then starts complaining of the taste of the food. You ladies just named every single reason why an opportunist can't stay in one place. I live, as an immigrant in the US, and Im a physician, and I can tell you while the Canadian health system is flawed it is far better than the US. Your 8 hrs+ waiting in the ER is literally a standard waiting time...so please be PATIENT! ( just getting a little sarcastic here, i know it sucks!) 35 to 40% of my money go the government ( although i feel they take 50%) and life is not that cheap ( a lot of Physicians leave expensive places like NY because they can't afford them anymore! ) have you heard of HOMELESS workers in LA? ( some have 2 jobs but still can't afford an apartment and live in their cars ) things are hard everywhere, especially if you are an immigrant living in one of the coldest place in the world (btw nobody called you, that was your choice, so suck it up!) I hope one day, while Im still young, I can go back home to work for my people, and not when I retire and tired to have my people work for me, how selfish and opportunistic is that mentality! The Nomad life most of you like, is killing a country spirit and Culture and it's no longer feasible in modern society, since the lands have borders and names and inhabited by people that value a sedentary life. The idea of people going to the foreign countries to get their passport so they can travel the world, sounds so individualistic...which Nation can develop with that kind of thinking of their citizens?....definitely not yours.

What people fail to understand is that the grass is always greener on the other side...until you get there and realise that its just different shades of green. There are so many benefits to living in Africa. And there are benefits to living in western countries too. If you like jobbing (being an employee), saving for retirement and having a stable government to protect your investment or give you welfare benefits and having free healthcare and generally living a risk-free life, then abroad is for you. There are downsides though - while you have good roads and healthcare, you can hardly save, your mental health is on the line, you probably will have no social life, the genetically modified food, polluted air, chemicalized everything will cut your life span down. You can be an enterpreneur but the taxes alone, the regulation, etc can discourage you. \n\nIn Africa, there are security concerns but the same security concerns exist in all countries, only they differ in their nature. In Africa, I can grow my food, I can build my house according to my budget (no mortgage), I can start a business any day, i can feed on little money ( you can find markets that sell cheap food produce). And most importantly for me, the health factor - organic food, family and friends to help with your mental health and laugh and cry with you as the occasion demands. \n\nAnd now the icing on the cake - you can make the same dollar you make abroad from your country! So many online platforms to be a freelancer, to work for companies and individuals abroad. So you are making the same money and not drowning in taxes, in high rents, insurance fees and you can afford top-notch healthcare, even better than what you can get abroad. \n So it's up to you. Stop believing that abroad is better. it's not actually. I swore I wouldn't raise a child in London because of the high rate of knife crimes on the streets and the government' s lax attitude towards it because such crimes involve black kids. I never felt such fear in Africa. To each his own. My African shade of green works well for me. Abeg

One of the top issues is being black. Seen as black and identified as black when you leave a predominantly Black Country. \nWhen I watch the various Realestate shows of white people buying property abroad as second home or just packing up and moving. I always say it must be nice! Because the reality is they can see them self almost everywhere unless they choose to go into a remote area then that’s the only exception but even then as long they learn the language and respect the culture they are good they are liked welcomed and even seen as fascinating. Not saying they don’t have to struggle but the colour of their skin is the least! \nAmerica is great if your trying to be self made, be your own business owner, and other random ventures you want to dabble in. But to just go there and be a regular teacher, doctor, lawyer, engineer to the low and middle class you’ll end up with the same financial issues and struggles as a result. You gotta now cater to the rich and famous wealthy people but then it’s back to never being home and not enough time for family. \nThe reality is if we could make the money we make here in North America and Uk back home in in the Caribbean and specific countries in Africa it would be a dream come true and that goes for other communist countries too. You truly have to know what makes you happy. Make money but enjoy life it might mean living below your means even though you can can afford a bit better life style. People do it all the time back home (not because they want to I know) but for some reason when you move abroad a one bedroom for your single self is to small, the car under $24k isn’t good enough, you don’t want your kids to share a room so you need a bigger house and the list goes on and on. \nCanada is boring if your not in a major city with money to spend you know why? Because people forget the population of the entire country of Canada is only a 3rd, 4th, 10th of the population of certain countries that immigrants came from and in the case of the US population it’s 100x more than Canada. So of course there’s more opportunities there. \nAnd finally imagine if more countries didn’t need visas to travel? They really would just come to make money and go back home or live bicoastal. Even just the freedom of travel half of the immigrants would of settled elsewhere before the year was up or go back home.

I'm a born Canadian. I enjoyed growing up there on the lake. It was peaceful and beautiful. \nI joined a church and traveled alot in the country. I do love Canada as my place of birth and memories. \nThrough the church I married an American have been here 26 yr. Now. It has become so expensive there and too controlling. All my family is there so I think of them but I can't afford to buy anything there. I'm now married to Ghanaian considering moving there. I love the food and culture.

Refugees, please consider coming to The Battlefords, Saskatchewan. We have affordable housing and a labor shortage. If you go to University in Saskatchewan the government will cancel most of your student debts if you choose to stay and live in the province for up to 5 years. The province and many smaller communities, like mine, have rebates if you build your own house or start a business here. Lots of perks that other provinces do not offer.

First of all I'm guessing you are in Toronto or Vancouver or Calgary maybe Montreal, The most expensive places in Canada to Live for sure. I live in Manitoba where the cost of living is pretty close to the cheapest in Canada. Yes minimum wage is $11.95 and apparently going up shortly. Free health care you mentioned waiting 8 hours in emergency but you failed to mention if you need to see a specialist your talking months and you'll probably die first. Great topic for Conversation. Please note, if you are coming to Ontario, Canada as a refugee, you can stay at a hotel for free until you get an affordable place to live, withing 6 months to 3 years. Also, if you are a resident of Quebec and is working in Ontario, please be prepared to pay additional tax on your pay stub and after you have filed your income tax. My advise Budget, Budget, Budget and live within your means. They are ways you can make and have money.

People are moving from other places like the US to Canada because of healthcare. You can die here in the US because you just can't afford your daily medicine.

I dont want to pop some bubbles here, but about Quebec, the house market raised waaaaay over what is actually affordable for us. Our economy isn't that great anymore. Everything is rising except salaries. Rents are becoming expensive in Montreal (and greater Montreal) with an average of 1100$/month for a 3 1/2. With an average of 1450$/ month for a 4 1/2. If someone actually has a 4 1/2 for 900$/month, that person is actually lucky. Crime's rate is rising as well in Montreal, poverty too. Me and my HTB are actually at the neck eventho we are both working. The healthcare system is a mess and it's been that way for over 30years. Dont count on them if you are class P1 in the emergency room, they will still let you wait and rot for hours.

I couldn't agree with you more. Canada has become another one of those mindless Totalitarian states like American China, Russia, etc., etc. I spent 10 years in China working as a teacher. I went there because I was fed up in my country and when I returned it was worse than when I left. As I am now 68, if I can afford to leave again I will and I'll never return again. I told the Chinese who knew me I was returning because I missed the land, but I never really missed the people. Now that I'm back, since Jan. 2022, I want to leave again and I will and Never return. What many don't know and wasn't reported in this video, is that Ukraine doesn't want too many people leaving to Canada. There is a fear that if people settle in Canada, they will stay and not return and help in he rebuilding of Ukraine. Accepting Refugees on mass is a huge undertaking, it is not as simple as opening the doors and letting people in. Where are the people to go, someone has to support them and that all requires huge amounts of coordination. Last I saw, Canada had a housing crisis where it has been difficult for Canadians to find affordable housing... how are Refugees supposed to do better?? The houses have shitty materials compared to my original country, and you simply can’t built by your own and that’s why every price rises.\nAnother issue you didn’t mention it’s there is no scholarships, it’s incredible expensive to get a proper education like university, and even so, they no offered scholarships. In Mexico almost everyone can reach the opportunity to study to be anything (lawyers, doctors) AND there is why you can get professional services everywhere. Here in Canada the business never have profesional services (like a real Human Resources, who studies for 5 years to be the best influence in a company, or a real engineering taking care of the machines in a plant. Canada only hire the cheap hand to avoid paying and I can understand it, but if more people could study more money moves in the country.\nAnother issue is there is not any public transportation into the cities or provinces, so if you don’t have a car, a driver license (it’s not easy to get one) and pay the super expensive insurance (it’s incredible 10 times more expensive than in Mexico) your can’t move from the place you are. Because of the weather you simply can’t move in a bike.\nPeople live just for pay rent, buy some groceries and buy some pre owned cloths in the thrift store.\nAnother problem it’s many rules to open a small bussines (like selling some food) \nHealth care it’s not exactly free: you need to pay for your prescriptions out of the hospital or if you never been hospitalized. And it’s very expensive to pay for them. In the US thousands of people go bankrupt each year due to medical bills. I don't think that this happens in Canada. I lived in 4 EU and 2Asian countries and I found that medical services are affordable and quite good compared to the US. Is Portugal really better than the US and Canada?

I live in Vancouver and large parts of it, including my suburb, have become Sinified (Chinese) because they have used real estate to park their funds in this city. The properties are left unoccupied or Chinese-occupied as the prices are too high for the born and raised to afford. It is a type of Chinese colonialism which the Canadian government has allowed. And there is a huge South Asian cluster in Surrey, Vancouver. Neither assimilate and why would they, because they see there is not much of a Canadian culture to assimilate into. So you end up with a mosaic of cultures that mostly remain separated from eachother and foreign ownership has become excessive.

Quebec #1? Ha. Highest taxes, high welfare, poor quality health care, dilapidated roads that literally fall on your heads with pastimes being smoking and eating poutine. With better living standards, people prefer to value personal space more. In a developing country, people needs eachother because they cannot afford to buy everything that they need or want. For example, a poor family would keep their kids with their neighbours or relatives, instead of leaving them at a creche or hiring a babysitter. Besides, developing countries have less occupational and recreational opportunities too. When Africa would become developed, maybe that too will become like Canada.
