I was born in Lima Peru at the age 21 moved to the Canada Toronto was my first home and I lived there for 17 years ,but the Canadian winter was wearing me out , so I moved to Vancouver and my partner and I opened a video rental that last me for 24 years until the end of vídeos rental in the meantime I started to invest in real estate , I bough 2 condominium apartment one is a penthouse with roof garden , them 250.000 dólares back in 1994, same year I bought the second apartment for 175.000 dollars 28 years later that investment have increased to 2’200.000.00 dollars I lived all my life in Canada I am now 77 years old in good health,now as a Canadian citizen feel very proud to be Canadian and never consider moving anywhere I am very happy where I am, and I am sure many Canadian feel the same eh

Here is the questions I don't think you asked - Why are home prices so high in Canada and high tech wages so much lower? Could it be that the difference in immigration policy that keeps wages low via over supply and not policing foreign buyers of real estate?

I have mixed feelings about this video. This video does a good job outlining the immigration process but it does not highlight any of the negative consequences of immigration that Canada is experiencing. One of the main reasons why cost of living is so high in Toronto and Vancouver is precisely because we have so many immigrants coming in without enough housing supply. This is by design because politicians and the upper class have a vested interest in keeping real estate prices high because so much of their net worth is tied up in the housing market.\n\nAnother negative is that employers hire immigrants working low skilled jobs and pay them less than Canadians because the immigrants are willing to be taken advantage of since they're just happy to have a job in Canada which pays better than their country. \n\nAnother myth that gets repeated is that Canadian takes immigrants out of compassion and unfortunately a lot of Canadians believe this. It was never about compassion, it's about bringing more people to 1) pay taxes to support our social welfare as Canadian birth rates decline and boomers retire, 2) keep housing costs high and 3) pay immigrants lower wages for the same work because immigrants are fine being exploited since they have a job in a first world country.\n\nAnother problem is the cultural shift. In the most immigrant-dense regions you'll find that many immigrants themselves surprisingly don't want more immigrants coming to Canada because they see these negative consequences. The people who are most pro-immigration have no problem cramming 8+ people in a basement and exploiting their labour because they make enough money to live in communities that immigrants can't afford, and so they don't have to deal with the cultural shift that's taking place. This is NOT the fault of immigrants, but rather the politicians who put economic growth over quality of life. Over HALF the people in the GTA weren't born in Canada, so they didn't go through our school system and have no connection to our culture. Canada is unfortunately going to become very racist over the next 10-20 years as Canadians start feeling like outsiders in their own country. It's somehow considered racists to criticize the effect of multiculturalism on social unity, yet the cultures we accept in Canada only became distinct cultures because of monoculturalism.

As a Canadian, I think you should mention that these high housing prices and low wages are DUE to the mass immigration we're going through. And the resounding sentiment as to why is due to corrupt politicians who benefit from higher real estate prices and low wages, as they're part of the upper class that owns businesses and property.

UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait look real progressive until you realize that those 70-90% have essentially no legal rights, let alone citizenship.

America should have more transparent and open immigration policies. But Canada does have a compelling incentive to be somewhat more restrictive. It’s sky high house prices. \n\nThey could perhaps address that with multi family housing units and better mass transit systems. But even then the finite amount of real estate is big concern.

I usually really like PolyMatter but this video is clearly biased and missing important details. \n\nWhat this video does not talk about is that we already have millions of H1B in this country competing for jobs with American citizens; go into any IT department of most banks, and you will find mostly H1B workers. Walking into any major university career fair, you will see the predatorial scene of hordes of foreign master students competing against American bachelors for the same new grad jobs; with many of the foreign students already having real career experience in their own country competing against inexperienced American young adults. \n\nThis video also does not mention the H1B lottery is not a single-try event. Everyone is given 3 tries and it refreshes if you get another American degree. \n\nLastly, this video does not mention the fact that people not on American soil could also apply for the H1B lottery which contributes further to the low rate. \n\nComparing pays between companies was ridiculous in this video's context. Google L3 in America should be compared with Google L3 in Canada, which are not very different in pay, after adjusting for the cost of living.\n\nIn terms of the country cap, just because some countries happen to have more people than other countries, it's not America's problem to solve; America has to do what is in the best interest of America. In this case, America simply decided to prioritize diversity in yearly admittees.

Your stance on school shooting seems flawed to me. Moving to a small town is not a way to provide protection: Uvalde, Sandy Hook, they are not big cities… and the shootings are not always in the same towns, same states, same areas… from the outside, there is no real safe heavens from this craziness

You didn't want to even read about the concern of the comment about the lack of abortion rights in the US. But it's real and so scary to see from Canada. I wouldn't want to live in a place where I would not be safe as someone who has a uterus.

I feel this administration knows these people voted in the person who ruined their country. Of course they would expect them to vote for another dishonest regime that sells them lies. I would consider immigrating to the U.S. for love. And I did consider it, but the romance did not work out. Otherwise I would be more likely to consider moving to Scandinavia. : ) I could have immigrated to England, but decided on Canada as my Top Choice of the two, mainly for the prices, and my family. UK Real Estate is very difficult to obtain.

We, french Canadians, are using religious words for swearing instead of sex related words like english born speakers. But many of those words are derived slang versions of the real ones. Exemple: Tabarnak is derived from Tabernacle or Calisse is derived from Chalice.

Why can't they come here legally?? My grandparents crossed the boarder and became legal Citizens. Followed the laws adopted the country and didn't try to change the country. They learned the language and worked migrant jobs until they found better jobs. They encouraged us all to stay in school and better ourselves. We are mostly all college educated and we learned so much from the experience. We didn't need hand outs and we didn't need loan forgiveness. As a Canadian living in north western Ontario at the north west of lake superior about 50 miles from the boarder. I would move to the United states if given choice of state like Alaska, Montana, and maybe Texas. no real reason i can enjoy guns here but not all the guns i would like to own are legal in Canada anymore for weird reasons, and if it was the states of my choosing i would still have enough free space to get lost in and enjoy nature with fishing or hunting. If I couldn't pick were i lived in the US I would say not at all do to the vast differences in culture state to state county to county and even times down to street to street.

Sorry to say the biggest problems of India are1- Corruption 2-Pollution3- ethical government 4 - EverywhereHindu-Muslim 5- Very limited infrastructure ( Roads, Power etc) 6- severe infection ( compared to earnings) 7- Level of Accidents and drunk drivers 8- very few opportunities matching skills 9- Very poor quality of education and unprofessional health 10- honesty is a real issue 11- Fake Godi media +++++\nI don’t mean India is a bad country. It’s one of the best country on earth. The issue is the governance especially current government is a biggest issue. I don't know when the US changed from the shining city on the hill to current dumpster fire it currently is, but it is just absolutely disgusting these days. \n\nMany Americans cannot separate church and state, nor do they understand that belief is only real to them, not to others. \n\nThe other major problem is the lack of equality in the US. The SCOTUS is an absolute joke when it comes to rights, amongst many other issues.

Hi Tyler. I think that when you say you've lived mainly in small towns and that most people are pleasant may stem from the fact that you're a white male. Many if not most small towns in America suffer from a lack of cultural diversity. It's easy for them to be kind and pleasant when they hardly ever get confronted by anyone outside their cultural norms. How accepting would they be if a bunch of families from other cultures would start moving into their little piece of paradise? Would they remain as pleasant and friendly? That's where the real test would be. Mind you, I'm not sure it would be so different here in Canada if you look at more remote villages.

I've worked with a lot of people who have moved to the US for work. It's a very compatible place for Canadians to go. The culture is very similar. People move for work pretty seamlessly. I lot of older canadians go to the southern US for 6 months a year for the weather but maintain their canadian citizenship for he medical coverage. \n\nThe COVID mess where twice as many US citizens per capita died compared to Canadians was a bit of a downer. Watching how poorly the political system seems to be to deal with all the real world problems that are out there. \n\nThat 73,000,000 voted for a self admitted scammster and criminal for President is troubling. \n\nThe Gun mess also tends to chase people off. \n\nThe American people seem to be desperate to maintain their freedom to kill each other. I turned down offers to work in the US, but have moved to the UK for a 3 year period, and a part of a year in the Netherlands. Also turned down South America and Taiwan mainly due to language. I used to travel to the US but only NY NY in the last decade. No real issues just little reason. There are many nice places in the US, but like in Mexico, needing to know where not to go seems like too much work.
