I think it's the fact that places that you even consider safe in the states, turn out not to be safe. Uvalde, Tx, Newtown, CT & Parkland, Fl, are all 35,000 or less population. Would you have expected school shootings in either of those places? Uvalde has a crime rate lower than the national average. Newtown has one of the lowest crime rates in all of america. Parkland Florida is lower than the national average. So... ??

How can you be proud to live in a country that has contempt for it's own people making basic life as hard as possible and taking away basic rights at every turn? I have lived within 30 minutes of a major border town for over 60 years, and we are used to having US tourists shopping amongst us. You can pick them out in the parking lot. I'm too Canadian. I would get eaten alive. The fact that I could be killed for innocently turning around after getting lost....I'll pass. Why do people feel entitled to just cross boarders into a different country illegally then act like those against this are some monster. 4 years later and Canada stance immigration is getting even more strict. Even more unforgiving. They have basically said they will not accept any refugees or grant asylum anymore unless your Ukrainian. even the refugees that are coming from the United States to Canada are now not even being accepted and immediately turned away and sent back to the USA
