I am so sorry Canada, truly. I'm embarrassed that our president would do this. It's shameful. Please know that even though the majority of votes put Trump into office, it wasn't a landslide. Something like 40% of us did NOT vote him in. Therefore, there are many, many Americans who did not want him, do not want his politics and are seriously sorry for his actions.

As an American who opposes - STRONGLY opposes - the Trump administration and everything it stands for, I am sorry for what our country's government is doing to the rest of the world but especially to our oldest, closest allies. \n\nThe MAGA faithful will remain faithful even as the prices of virtually everything goes up and up and our economy tanks. That being said, I do agree that the crossings from Canada are not nearly as significant as compared to our southern border. It would be nice to see more from Canada in their investments to secure the border and stop crossings, cartel movements, and drug operations. The US has spent more than 409 billion since 2003 on such operations. Regardless, I feel for you Canadians and it sucks that it has come to this and I hope we keep strong relations in the future. Hopefully we can come to a fair deal soon. Mexico and China are the big players that do not do nearly enough to prevent these crimes. In fact, the Mexican government helps the cartels by not trying to stop them. China's lack of regulation on the ingredients to make fentanyl contribute to a large extent to this tragedy as well.

Even though we as Americans might disagree with President Trump, we have to stand firm on some things here, the way PM Trudeau came on here and reversed this tariffs on the US after all we done with this is still an attack on us, we have to think broader and wider, I am a 22 year retired Navy vet and seen how these countries treat us and we have been taken advantage of, it’s time we stand firm. I’m Canadian and I’m terrified for us as well as all the innocent people that will be affected by this. I find it curious though that past presidents haven’t made any remarks, at least that I’ve seen, about all the things Trump has done in the last six weeks. Where are the condemnations about tariffs, the way Zelensky was treated and the fact that Trump is the one letting human traffickers (allegedly) across the border? As in Andrew Tate and his brother. Trump is the one allowing criminals in. Trump is the one about to sell gold cards to anyone for $5,000,000. That will include known terrorists.

As a Canadian, here's my biggest concern. The whole border thing was nothing more than a ruse. Trump has cozied up to Putin ... basically, he's Putin's poodle. He's tossed Ukraine to the wolves. (Though, I think Europe and Canada will increase their efforts to help Ukraine.) My fear is Trump will find some way to justify sending American troops into Canada to simply seize the resources he wants but is unwilling to trade for.

From Canada: Sorry but we did this to ourselves by not growing our economy as we could have done, by not expanding energy and trade, by being led by a non-leader who panders only to the east and disrespects the west, who spends money like it’s on fire. Trudeau could learn so much from Sen Robert Kennedy about spending money that isn’t his to spend… If eastern Canada would respect the wealth we have in the country, in the ground, we would not be in this position. Canada could be one of the wealthiest countries in the world and Canadians could have a very high standard of living. Instead we are stagnant and woke, dying from terrible drug policies and woke law, and bursting with a terrible “look at me, look at how good I am” immigration policy. We have no investment or tourism in BC, no foreign buyers, almost no airbnb, no fruit, soon to be no wine, but at least we have free drugs and 2000 genders, right Provincial NPD? That will help the bank account. And we have no respect for Alberta’s riches that benefit EVERYONE. All the power is centralized in Quebec, with the Bloc not even a federal GD party but somehow allowed to be a federal party, and Ontario and Atlantic Canada just loving a false sense of moral and intellectual superiority, and don’t forget transfer payments.
