Europe has just announced an 800 billion Euro defence plan; I bet they’d be very interested in Canada’s critical minerals. Canadians will not forget this; this has damaged our relationship with the U.S. and it may never recover. We cannot forget that Americans voted this man back into power knowing who and what he is; they somehow believed that he was magically going to lower the cost of eggs, end a war and save the economy. Canadians will never trust that Americans won’t again elect someone so stupid and pathetically unfit to lead their country; we have to start cutting the trade ties now so that we will never be this vulnerable again. I do agree with Dumpty that we need to pull our weight militarily, so we need to invest in our security and we also need to align ourselves with Europe since Dumpty is clearly aligning the U.S. with Russia.

The problem here isn't temporary. Tariffs may or may not be. But when Canada, Mexico, and other countries build alternate trade infrastructure and strike deals that exclude America, this becomes near irreversible and will hurt America's economy well after Trumps term. It's not always true Canada doesn't stand with a murderer. A convited murderer of former Bangladesh President along with most of his family members has been sheltered in Canada.
