Well, there are good Indians and scammers Indian. Scammers in India are causing headaches for good Indians. That is the facts. For instance, recently some Indians took a huge loan in UAE and left for Canada with that money. That has put the UAE government in a position to make the visa process more difficult to find out if bad people are getting the visa or not. I would say, the Indian government should introduce a process to thoroughly investigate a person before they apply for a foreign visa, and it should be honest to see some improvement in Indian behavior in the foreign countries. If not, that number is just going to go down. It doesn’t matter how much you scream. Do that for the sake of good Indian people.

I just love it,,, i mean i just love it when we get a reality check,, i have been to 20 countries for studies, for work and as a toursit , i didnt face any visa rejection (maybe bcos my documents and funds were good) but boy o boy i just saw the behaviour of mostly hindi belt guys who go to Visa free countries like malaysia, bali, thailand and what horrible behaviour, they will spit around, drink pass lewid comments on foreigners and local ladies, try to bargain it was such an embarrassment, there were people chanting religious slogans near burj khalifa making reels, recently i visited georgia and some gujrati family was asking for seperate vegetarian cooked meals in an authentic georgian restaurant,, they were talking like they owned that place.\n\nI left india for studies in 2000 and came back in 2013, but during this time the indians were well behaved abroad and followed the rules,, maybe post smartphone era and the so called Godi media all have got a false feeling that we have become some vishwaguru just look at our comments on any videos on youtube instagram which are critical of us.\nThere was a news on one Lapdog Godi channel that Trump is crying infront of our PM that we help him in LA fires,, such shameless and bigoted lies will make any dimwit person think we are the greatest,\nIts high time we should start retrospecting our online as well as social behaviour.

Why don't indians travel in their own country? There are more beautiful places in india than Dubai. I left Dubai after working there for 3 years. It's all desserts outside city.

I’m from Mexico and I lived in Canada for 5 years back in 2009. Back then, Canada was the country where everyone wanted to migrate to. It was a dream. I was so fortunate to have been able to secure a job in a country that I had always dreamed of. I left bc I married my husband and moved to Louisiana. Now, I have a 3 bedroom house, a 2025 new car, three children and a well paying job. I’m not a millionaire, but I have a confortable life. My next door neighbors, moved from Calgary to Louisiana (where I live). This family, has a confortable life as well. I’m so sorry that all this happening to such a beautiful country. Canadians are one of the most welcoming people I have met.

Born and raised in Canada. Grew up believing anyone could do well here if you apply yourself as an average person. Household income was higher then the USA and for the most part 'middle class life' was pretty attainable. Now I've had some bumps along the way that has nothing to do with this to set me back, but today I look at the 'make a life market' and the opportunities are none. You either own a home and are doing well, or your a renter going backwards every year because of inflation and the brain drain. Entrepreneurs have left the country. We as a country have not done much since the 1980's. We stagnated in The Boomers success and never made a future for their children. Then in the past few years, we have rampant immigration to add to the fire. Canada, for a lack of words is a Dumpster Fire. DON'T MOVE HERE!

Similar story, grew up in Vancouver as a kid. Can't say that I got much from Canada other than a pile of student debt. With a top engineering degree from a Canadian university, no jobs, no interviews. If it set me up for a better future, I could give it some credit, but even with visas, I had *much* better luck with opportunities in the US and even in western Europe, which is similarly socialist to Canada. I have had to move from country to country thanks to the lack of decent opportunity in Canada. More liability than asset, in my experience, other than the passport. Glad I left when I did, only regret I didn't do it sooner. Good luck to wherever you go next. I hear eastern Europe is a cool place, if you bring your income with you ;-)

I was born and raised in Canada and last august I left to move to the Czech Republic. If you’ve ever been there you’ll know it’s not the cheapest country and I live in the most expensive city. I still am able to afford to live off my not so high salary of an English teacher. I wouldn’t be able to afford living away from my parents in Canada, I’m not saying it’s been easy or cheap, I have 6 roommates and my rent is over 50% of my monthly salary. I had to take out a loan from my parents to afford all the visa fees and hidden costs of moving to another country. However if I had stayed in Canada I would have been earning less because I couldn’t find a job in my field. I am filled with rage about the governments decisions to mess up the country like they have. And yes we have an immigration problem but they are not the problem, it’s the government. My mother was an immigrant to Canada, and yes she’s doing okay right now but things have changed a lot since she immigrated and how Canada is now.

Idk i think you need to realize that we also have our bias in addition to you having yours. Meaning, to most of us , excepting the most left leaning socially progressive pockets and contexts , which even then wouldn’t be viewed that way to us just acceptable lol ?\n\nOur baseline/political middle in Canada is A LOT more left leaning than the baseline normal/political middle in the states. So while people tend to equate your democrats to our liberals or our NDP , and equate your republicans to our conservatives. It’s just not accurate. If you throw our span of parties and American span of parties on the SAME spectrum /polarity line. You might be surprised to realize how shifted left our systems range politically is from the American one. \n\nThis hugely impacts the average normal expectation , what we clutch our pearls at hearing coming out of the mouths of the general public , and our range of what we expect to not hear or see ranted about unless they’re to our view , extremely right leaning politically /social values. \n\nFor us this means that actually genuinely , a lot of America does get experiences by us as bat shit crazy racist homophobic immigrant intolerant culturally and religiously ignorant , and somewhat backwards in larger or smaller amounts ? I know that’s not fun to hear but. Being the most diverse country based so much on immigration means. My parents were both born in the states and my older brother was born there but they moved up here when he was a baby. So nearly all my extended family lives down there and I’m a duelly. And my experiences discussing things with my cousins or visiting absolutely could be described as culture shock at times. The insane things that came out of my own cousins mouths when they hear our friends or partners of various cultures , our not understanding how big a deal and incredibly insulting apparently it is to have assumed someone American was lgbt lol the list goes on. Like I don’t think our most intolerant Pockets can hold a flame to even ur closet to middle a bit intolerant places and contexts in America. I came to Canada in 1989 with my twin sister. I haven't left Canada ever since I came in. My twin sister left Canada for good in 2023. I did not come to Canada because I needed more money. I came to Canada because I did not have a country. Canada became my home country but the crazy thing is I don't recognize the Canada I knew over the years. Many people came to Canada to take advantage of this wonderful nation. My beloved city of Toronto turned into a third world country. I'm now in Alberta where I work hard and pay my taxes. My Canada is a paradise on earth. My Canada deserves people who loves it. I had my hardship in my early years and that was what I had to go through. When new immigrants try to cut corners, I always remind them to earn their muthafuka turn. The liberal party screwed up Canada. Lower prices?! Of course that would be nice. Economically speaking, that means that a vast number of people want deflation. It could work in an economy not dependent on excess and consumerism, but the US economy is propped up on speculation and buying out of want rather than need. Deflation is considered an economic failure in this country. We target 2% inflation for fear that without it, people will buy less now and then there will be a downward correction on output and then jobs. \nIn any case, broad tariffs won’t be the answer to lower prices. A global economy is an efficient one, but often unfair or unkind in specific localities. The US has benefited from globalization and low cost labor elsewhere for decades. But the pendulum swung too far and now many Americans are feeling left behind. Tariffs could bring back jobs but on a 5 to 10 year timeline, not one 4-year presidential term, much less in a year.

I have ethnic background from Hong Kong and have been living in Canada for almost 40 years. I love Canada and am proud of this beautiful country. However, I think part of the immigration problem we have is the ongoing issue of allowing dual citizenship of everyone who have become a Canadian citizen. I have personally known lots of HK immigrants who would return to their own countries to work as soon as they have got their Canadian passports. Normally one of the parents would stay with their children here for free schooling, medical care and child tax benefits. Their children will follow their parents to go back to HK after they graduated from universities in order to avoid the higher income tax . Unfortunately, those parents will come back to retire in Canada so that they can get free health care benefits and OAS once they have fulfilled the residency requirement of 10 years. Canada do need more skilled and educated immigrants to make our country more prosperous but not those who try to take advantage of our lenient immigration policies. I think we should take back the passports of those who have left Canada for more than 2 years or those who have evaded taxes so that we do not continue to support those never contributed to our country. PS, I mentioned about HK only because of my origin and I believe the same problem would be caused by immigrants from other countries too.

Everyone here hates Canada, it’s so sad to see, I’m an American who used to live in Compton USA, and let me tell you the gang violence was very real my uncle Rick was killed by a drive by incident while buying a pack of cigarettes and he wasn’t even the target. He walked right into a gang war, because of this we left and moved to Canada, best decision of my life because now I live in Mississauga, and here I don’t have to worry about the gang violence and drive by shootings, I can raise my two girls here in safety. I love America and I am a proud American but I would never ever want to live there after everything me and my family went through. F*%c that. I’m happy living in Canada. Best country in the world. I agree with all you said. I left Canada in 2018 after struggling there for 20 years. I am fortunate to also have American citizenship. Unsure why I held out in Canada as long as I did. So much easier to live in the USA. One thing you missed were the lockdowns. It caused massive disruption to people’s lives and many friendships and families were destroyed. My mother left in 2022 for exactly those reasons. Many others that she’s met now in her current country of residence left for the same reasons. Trudeau. What can I say…??

Many, many Americans make a distinction between legal immigration and illegal immigration. The center and right are supportive of LEGAL immigration, as it is part of the unique fabric of our country - but are against ILLEGAL immigration. The American left tends to purposefully muddy the waters on this issue, so they can make anyone opposing illegal immigration look like they oppose ALL immigration.\n\nThis is also a distinction that is often muddied or glossed over by Europeans when they try to understand American politics. In Europe, being opposed to immigration, generally means you’re opposed to all of it, legal or illegal. So many Europeans incorrectly view the America center-right as being anti-immigrant. That’s not the situation, at all, in the US.

Bit of a side note, but Latin American birth rates have dipped so low in recent years (Mexico's is now lower than that of the US), that long-term migration from Latin America will probably decrease, because young adults are the prime migrators. This is especially true given Venezuela and El Salvador will probably shrink as source countries (Venezuela because it literally had so much emigration already, that everyone who would leave, has left, El Salvador because of the recent improvements in its security situation). I'd also expect to see some Latin Americans head for Guyana instead given its oil boom. \n\nFor context, it's not actually out of the realm of current UN projections that Latin America and the Caribbean as a whole will go from having about 2x the population of the US at the moment, to it being about 1:1 by the end of the century. \n\nThat said, this could also all be counter-acted by the economic hardship aging populations in the region would bring.
