I’m a little late to this video but have a lot to say. As a Canadian of Indian descent, I have always avoided Brampton. There is a stark difference between Indians from Brampton and those of us that are from other cities. This situation is out of control mainly due to JT but also colleges that have setup feeder international schools that cater just to Indian students. I’d imagine Chinese students have something similar to this as well, they’re just more quiet. \n\nA lot of the comments come off as offensive but it is what it is, There are too many of my ethnic people here and they’re not assimilating let alone intending to do so. Chain migration is another problem as it brings in an older generation that has no desire to learn English. Crime is having a runaway effect because of the environment they come from, fights break out at intersections, parking lots, backyards, front yards, etc. This is reckless and embarrassing for all Indians, especially us Punjabis. This goes unreported because of how vindictive these people are because of whichever town/city they came from. There are also rumours that these female students are home wreckers so there’s another layer. \n\nMy solution: \n1) Stop immigration, these people are giving our entire community a bad rep when we’ve worked so hard to get to where we are in this country. Return to skills based immigration, not WEF-based. \n2) Cap the international student populations tied to the census - this opens up opportunities for international students from ALL countries and walks of life. \n3) International students cannot be allowed to work - Canadian students First, Canada First. \n4) After graduation, give students 1 year to find a job in their field of study. If they can’t find one, send them back and learn skills and then that’s their only back to Canada. \n5) if they do make it to immigration, we need a better system than just a simple memorization test - have them demonstrate their command of the English language, look at their value added and potential for the future. \n6) Conservatives need to be a part of the solution. A lot of the comments are just complaints and complaining will get these folks voting red vs voting blue each and every time. That guy commenting about no temples in Timmins will just push these people to the liberals and this is what JT is counting on. We need to show these folks what being Canadian is about so that they leave Brampton and assimilate. I’ve introduced countless folks to Pierre and have changed their outlooks, y’all need to do the same. First and foremost, Canada has a society problem. It is devoid of energy. To much rules, and restrictions. Lacks social activities, lacks life and energy in essence. People become bored, isolated, depressed and preserved. No social interactions, no competitiveness, no sport, no outdoors, no zeal, no enthusiasm. People barely talk to each other for fear of some dump privacy and security.\n\nThen on the other end for professional, too many protocols and licensing requirements for every single thing.\n\nIt is just too laidback for a modern society.\n\nFor me, I think the society needs to open up.

In my opinion, those who are against decriminalization just do not understand the real goal and intention behind the policy in the first place. It's not decriminalization itself that caused the problem- it was decriminalization without other adequate programs or policies that supported it. For example, decriminalization keeps more people out of prisons because the prison and legal systems are a complete and total mess. But along with that, they didn't really focus on specialized programs to help treat and care for those addicted. So, people are being kept out of jail but they don't have any affordable housing to go to instead so they end up on the streets. Therefore, decriminalization (which I support) must be done in collaboration with other policy like better regulating (and capping) housing and food costs, healthcare and immigration policy, adequate shelter and social programs as well as extensive treatment (harm reduction or abstenince since both have their place). Otherwise we get what is currently happening in this video.

Just remember that Trudeau has said, on multiple occasions, that claiming the country is broken is unhelpful and that the country isn't broken. The homeless problem has become way worse over the years. Canada has become way too expensive to live with the outrageous prices in rent, heat, hydro, food, property taxes it’s bloody outrageous. Ppl loose their jobs and find they can’t afford to pay their rents and mortgages along with all the other bills if they can’t find another job right away. And companies are to hire minority over white ppl. A white male in Ontario, forget about it. White ppl have become minority now in the work force. First of all you took 3 years to do this extremely limited investigation that doesn't even begin scratch the surface. Your interviews are selective and show only a certain problems. If you truly investigated, you would have looked at government programs at ALL LEVELS of government. The rules and restrictions that are applied like, healthcare, CPP, Disabilities both mental and physical, welfare, and the host of other programs that for most part create and maintain poverty and are nothing more that government fraud and covered up at all government levels. As a one time homeless and then advocate for homelessness, I can tell you first hand that money destined for these programs is often gobbled up by faux do goods who actually pocket this funds for themselves.

It is very interesting to observe how demographics have changed over the decades.When I first arrived in Canada in 1972 (51 years ago), the Indians were almost invisible, it would be an extraordinary sight to see one. Now, they are all over the place and there is no housing by the way. But yes, it's the student visas that have saturated the system and now the inept government is scrambling to find solutions to the housing problem that has ballooned. I get CPP and old age pension but have to continue working due to the high cost of living, it is ridiculous.

In the past 2 years - I have spent 3 months in Toronto, and last year, 3 months in Montreal...and it is like the Tale of Two Cities! In Toronto, I stayed at a friend's off the park that abuts Queens St, and Dundas St. on the far side. I barely got a good night's sleep - from the constant wailing of Sirens at ALL Hours of the night/early morning! I witnessed several incidents of random violence - including on the trolly cars, and many of them involving homeless Indigenous people ...who were historically shit-on by Canada! In comparison to US Cities - Toronto minded me of problem-plagued SF, Seattle, and Portland. The Density factor reminded me of NYC, minus the Positive Street savvy that New Yorkers have in spades! I did meet some very nice people, but overall - Torontonians were uptight, concerned about money all the time, and sometimes - just downright rude! Fast-Forward to Montreal. I stayed in Le Plateau...renting a room for 3 months. Lovely House-mates - One Turkish/Polish Woman, and an Iranian Man - both were quirky, and Delightful! My rent was very decent, and my Host showed me all the affordable places to eat, swim for free, free Yoga in the parks...within 2 days, I felt at Home! It was 3 days before I even noticed a siren! Drivers stoped for pedestrians, and as it was summer - the bike-lanes were full of bike riders! The Green Spaces were plentiful, and Parc Mount Royal is a Terrestrial Paradise! Were there some social issues? - of Course! French being the official language, the Quebecois are a VERY Proud, and defiant lot! That was difficult at first, and then...learning some history of Quebec, you begin to understand their irascible defenses! There was some homelessness (a Fraction of what I see in the US, and Toronto!), and prices are creeping-up (the common complaint!), and there was a lot of construction, and road repairs - as Quebec is NOT a wealthy part of Canada, overall. In short - I miss Montreal DEEPLY! Toronto? - I have a good friend there, and I hope to see a few of the folks I met there, Again. Travel Impressions are mainly subjective, but I know where my heart, and affection lie!

My take on this is why did you leave India in the first place? Now you complain. All you have to do is pack up and move back. I am a third generation person of Indian origin and never been to India. I was born and brought up in Africa and live there. We have our problems but I will never leave my country and move elsewhere. The grass is rarely greener on the other side.

I hope they pass the word around so we get fewer illegals and economic migrants. Canada has to get its house in order for its own people not for all the people coming without being properly vetted according to our “not so good” immigration Law. Our country has many serious problems to address and fix i.e., health care, military funding, police funding, housing, affordable food. I was born in bangladesh and lived 18 years of my life there, then I moved to The us which is where I went to university and spent the next 7 years of my life. Then in 2004 I moved to canada and spent the next 13 years there before finally moving to oceania. Let me tell you why I left canada, in the later years there I was noticing how much I was being treated like an immigrant yes I am an immigrant but living 13 years of your life in the country and not being treated like a citizen but new people come into the country brand new and are treated more like citizens then you are hurts a lot. When I was new in canada I felt much more welcome by my coworkers and the citizens then I did after living there for so many years. But there's two more major reasons I left canada and these reasons are just as big as to why. In vancouver where I lived, the homeless crisis as you may know about was getting out of hand, it was a major problem even when I first settled in vancouver but now people were scared to even go the store as mentally ill homeless people were terrorizing everyone. And the last reason to top it all off was that the prices for everything in vancouver were simply ludicrous, It was insane how high the prices went up and taking care of my family was a struggle. I moved in 2017 and never once looked back, where I am now everyone and everything is sane and it hurt to leave canada at first because of how long I lived there and the memories I had there but let me be very clear I do not regret leaving canada.

I went to Conestoga college, and I wish your mon read my words. Canadians, should consider that international students are paying around 20k yearly to Canada Colleges institutions that are not offering better education than the one provided in their own countries for way less than 30k. Other developed countries, like Germany or Belgium offer the same programs to international students for around 8k yearly, but, the international students rather come to Canada which also offer an easier path to become PR. But then, they crash with the reality and they realize that even many Indians can't speak proper English to be competitive in a Canadian College or in a Canadian company. Unfortunately, Canadians educational institutions know that the English spoken by international students is not enough but, they send them an acceptance letter from the institution so they can come and study in Canada. So, the real problem are the Canadian public colleges and Universities accepting people with a poor English level from overseas. Canada is a great place to be but, this kind of actions make their productivity poor which is in reality the problem behind the bad economy development when compare with similar developed countries. So, your mon should first blame its own country policies and educational institutions rather than international students for that kind of behaviors when they are students. Also, you should put your self in their shoes, learn German and go to Germany and see how easy is to manage to get a waitress job only in German in a city like Cologne. And then remember that this international students are bringing 20k from their countries economy to Canada each one yearly. Know, think how many Canadians bring 20k yearly to India or Nepal... I totally agree that this country will break your spine and test your ultimate willpower. Me and my wife came here 5 years back and we decided that we will shut ourselves like a tortoise. Forget about savings and forget about everything else. Only and only one goal we had in mind is that we will live in the basement and earn top dollars. Just to give you a perspective. My first pay was 19 dollar per hour and my current pay is 87 per hour. My wife started with 16.5 per hour and now earning 69 per hour. Even though our income grew substantially, we never raised our expenses. Answer to all problems in Canada is income. Now after 5 years we bought house worth of 1.4 M. We moved out of basement and felt immense pride. We paid 37% down payment and 3 banks approved our mortgages in a heartbeat. No debt at all. We paid up our car in full. Just a regular new suv nothing fancy. \nEveryone is different, we all are unique and I believe you took a right decision. See friends, all the middle class and low class people in the world are suffering from the same problems. First there are no jobs, even if there are jobs they are misbehaved, mistreated, abused or exploited etc. Then what can be the solution for this problems? This is our common problem wherever we are living in. Just comparatively, some places are better but we don't have easy access to that special place. I think we can't escape this. There are always Big Brother and Subaltern in the world. I think there is no democracy where the voice is heard and justice,security in general,job after education,implementation of law,equitable social life is guaranteed in practice. I can appreciate what you are saying. I live in Los Angeles and we have many of the same issues and worse in many cases. You mentioned a lot of things that are problems and you are right. What you did not mention was who is responsible for the policies being enacted. My guess is that like Los Angeles, it’s run by progressive liberals who are passing laws that don’t put your citizens first. That’s what has happened in Los Angeles. I would highly recommend that anyone looking to move to a major metropolitan area, check to see who the mayor is and who’s on the city council. Canada is already run by leftists so I assume the apple is not falling far from the tree when it comes to your city leadership. In the US, people continue to reelect these incompetents. People in Canada need to realize, it’s okay to vote for conservative policies.

Who cares why you left... Canada is a great country and not so far gone to have it back on the right track. Sure everyone likes to bitch about something, it's human to complain when your having a bad day,week, or month. Even in the darkest times humans find the ray of sunshine and start to chase it knowing that it will be better in the future. To make a video that you had to leave ...who cares, your mom or family or friends. Did you think about the thousands of Canadians who went to war to fight for what you have today? I live in NYC, and have been to Canada at least four times, but the last time I was there was quite some time ago. I always had a good thought about Canada, because it seems like some of the problems we have in this city, Canada also has in some way. Right now the city is a complete mess; at post pandemic and with a bit of a recession and a noticeable increase in groceries to basic things like cat food and tissues. That's not the biggest problem, it really is the legislation or lack of for people who not care for themselves. Those homeless people are almost not helpable and I don't feel threatened by them, but other people definitely do. The way the government has handled these undocumented migrants is a complete disaster and couldn't have come at a worse time. We have a serious housing crisis as well, and people can end up paying for high rent, for not the best places, but they want to live in a certain location. The migrants are coming in at about 60k in the last two weeks. You see mothers with little kids or babies selling candy all over the trains and it's becoming too much. Many see it as a form of child abuse or exploitation and we do not respect it at all. I think they feel we are weak and will just pay double for something we don't need. At one station today I must have be approached 3 times and interrupted 2 times while using my phone. It's just too much and we already have a lot of immigrants here, so I'm not sure where these people believe they will find any meaningful employment and the cold is coming. I wasn't born here, but came legally as an infant. I think the border situation is a disaster and it's obvious to a lot of people that the government lets things happen that will definitely effect citizens in the next couple of decades. The city is crowded enough and I do not know where this is all going, people do not want undocumented migrants house a few hundred feet from a childrens school. I just don't understand how they let this happen....I guess this is how Biden does things and all the groups that cheered buses pulling in when it first started are dwindling down....they just want them passed on to someone elses responsibility, but wouldn't want them as neighborhors necessarily. It's a lot of hypocrisy here. Canada seems better in some places, and the same in others.

First of all, we should be careful with the use of the word “hijrat”. There are countries(I happen to be born and brought up in one of them) where muslims actually have a history of persecution, often resulting in riots, deaths. If you compare with Prophet Mohd. saws’s hijrat, it was a result of prosecution, suffering and life risk. Relatively speaking, sometimes our first world problems may look big, but they’re not really, compared to the state of Muslim lives in other countries. \nI have lived in Dubai(2 yrs), US(8 yrs) and Canada(1+ yr) and I want to say that Canada is a beautiful, diverse country for people from all faiths and backgrounds, so much better than what I have experienced living in the above mentioned countries and my own.\nThe grass is always greener on the other side and often we don’t understand these things until we experience them on our own. Make sure that you guys do extensive research in every aspect of your future lives and not just those top reasons mentioned in your video - for each of the probable countries on your list. May Allah guide you to the right path.
